  1. Looks like its all moving up a step and the IW bosses are sueing activision http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/infinity...uing-activision
  2. Bloody hell mate I thought my bookmarks had screwed up for a minute or you'd been hacked by the interweb l33t boyz, nice work bud
  3. In all fairness Kleaneasy that was only a firmware update that you need to play some new releases, I think terminator salvation was one. So once the update was done you dont need to be connected.
  4. Wonder what the reaction would be if a large bluray publisher turned round and said that to view the bluray title you have to be connected to the internet so as to cut down on piracy? I'd guess that the movie industry loses more money to piracy than the games industry, go to any car boot sale and there are always a few cars loaded with dvd's. Wonder what kind of reaction there would be to that and how it would affect bluray sales?
  5. I absolutely dread to think how much i've spent on the upgrade trail since I got my first pc (386sx25) so i'll try not to, I could probably have got a really nice car instead of all those redundant boxes
  6. Have you tried mounting it in something like daemon tools mate, or even burning it to a dvd with nero? You probably have but i'm just wondering why you want it as an iso file.
  7. I'm pretty sure i connected the wii with wpa but its been that long since I did it I cant remember, has Rocky still got his up and running?
  8. i'm quite happy with my athena for now http://pdadb.net/index.php?m=specs&id=..._htc_athena_100
  9. Hmmm not sure i'm in favour of this at all, anything where you increase the length of the chain is just asking for trouble, if your internet goes down you cant play, if their game servers go down you cant play, if their login servers go down you cant play. Thats just too many things with a possibility of going wrong, they messed it up with RVS when their login servers were playing up many years back and the "free" addon they gave away still cant be played online due to UBI not putting the key servers back up. http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/8...62/m/4891043286 With that game being as old as it is you'd have thought they'd have patched it to not need the keyservers now but they'll probably wait till the last 2 playing terrorist hunt stop logging in before they wipe the login servers and forget about making a patch for a game that nobody plays. As for the console piracy not hitting as much as pc piracy i'm not 100% convinced on that either, I thought Microsoft made a loss on the xbox consoles and raked in the money from games sales, if thats the case they must take a bigger cut from the games publishers to cover those costs so the publisher gets a smaller amount of profit, I know Mr Gates didnt stump up any cash towards my PC so the publishers make more off my pc sale than for an equivalent console sale. This could be complete crap but I have been to bed since I read about it so if it is a load of cobblers please feel free to correct me. The pirates will get around it, i've no doubt about that, if the sneaky buggers can get around the protection in VBS1 then ubi's offering will be no problem and the only people who will suffer are the honest gamers who buy the game and come up against a chain of possible problems that could fail at any point.
  10. CR6 - Snap, i've got the Nintendo DS too and have to stick it on wep every now and again, plus with the amount of open connections that are floating around its not even worth spending 10 minutes trying to crack a security key when you can walk 10 yards down the road and get a free connection.
  11. That should be plenty mate, i only normally run with WPA-PSK on, on my netgear, I only enable the trusted access list if I want to lock the kids out if they've been playing up. Always change the default admin password and you should be fairly secure there.
  12. and i bet you dont even notice till you get your morning cup of tea...
  13. Bloody hell that was a quick 7 years, RIP old man.
  14. While not directly linked to piracy but definitely linked to the links I posted this has now come to light http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/8312780.stm Wonder how long they hoped to keep the lid on that?
  15. 1. "Wikipedia is the best thing ever. Anyone in the world can write anything they want about any subject. So you know you are getting the best possible information." --Michael Scott, manager on "The Office," after revealing that he's printed out a set of negotiating tips from the online encyclopedia. If you saw the tips you'd know why its best not to consult the wiki all the time.
  16. 2012 does stem from the mayan calendar but what will actually happen is that the planet Nibiru will come close to earth and the reptiles peoples cloaking systems will fail and we'll see them for what they really are, by then it'll be too late and we'll be dinner for them, oh, dont go into the caves theyre building "to save mankind" either, they need you in there for dinner. http://www.davidicke.com/forum/showthread.php?t=69608 And Norway has built a huge seed vault to repopulate all plant life after 2012, its true http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sci/tech/4605398.stm As for the rest of it who the hell knows but dont ask me cos I'm going to hollow earth where the reptile people wont be http://www.ourhollowearth.com/
  17. Well if somebody had installed and wanted to know I would have told you, but you beat me to it you ingenious Scot! Well done young man and a pat on the back in your general direction. I found the pc started up and shut down a hell of a lot faster than it did with AVG
  18. At the moment I'm using Kaspersky but after AVG bloated up the last version I moved to Avira and was reasonably happy with it, theres even a way to stop the popup windows on the free version if you look around http://www.avira.com/en/pages/index.php
  19. Good to hear theyr'e making him look a bit less like one of the borg and more like one of us.
  20. Over 4 million views now, if only each viewer sent them a wedding present they'd be made for life.
  21. After a good long think, i'd like to see something added that has nothing to do with gameplay, how about a tip of the hat to some of the folks on here who have kept the game going? Give the squadmembers nicknames of some of the gr.net folk who keep coming back to this site after the last few ropey releases. A bit of credit given to the modders and missionmakers who kept interest going in the game would be nice. Going on a mission with squadmates Rocky, WK and DS has to be more fun than taking out generic team number 2.
  22. Sounds like a step in the right direction, great to hear some good news
  23. I like it, its like my daughter in black & white, as a man with a pipe, isnt it?
  24. Tell you what, give us a list of what is in and we'll tell you what else it needs eh
  25. Noooooooo, I can guarantee if you go there you'll have captain paranoia sitting on your shoulder for the next 6 months and everything will have a conspiracy theory surrounding it. Try this thread about how in 2008 the manufacturers of the tamiflu antivirus predicted a 531% increase in sales in 2009. Spooky eh? http://www.abovetopsecret.com/forum/thread459238/pg1
