  1. set the date on your pc to 2001, it goes on ok then
  2. So they tax you to the nuts if you want to smoke but rather than banning it completely and making money immorally off the addicted, they fine you for doing it, sweet! Ker-ching
  3. reading through it reads like it should be "I regret not seeing this movie in IMAX"
  4. This could well warrant a trip to the IMAX in Brum.
  5. Maybe they should just stop selling games in europe, it would save us a lot of heartache at having our hopes dashed and save them a bit of cash.
  6. I thought theyd made all the VM staff redundant who were manning the newsgroups mate, the thread on cableforum about phorm is huge now too, over 11,000 replies and theyre organising a protest too. The biggest problem is that phorm are run by a group that were identified as a spyware company so would you trust anything they say or do?
  7. You may have heard about phorm and BT's allegedly illegal trials in 2006 and 2007 where they tested it out without asking consent from their customers, phorm boils down to your browsing being inspected for a targetted advertising campaign, some of the big isps are in talks to implement it and you can read all about it here http://www.inphormationdesk.org/welcome.htm So just when you thought you'd got rid of all the spyware/malware off your pc, your ISP makes you have it whether you want it or not, nice eh?
  8. Bloody hell its a first! They didnt use the old change the dollar to a pound symbol currency rates conversion trick, I am shocked! I cant see it being much different to be honest but shipping would probably bump it up a fair chunk.
  9. You have to have "show hidden files and folders checked" then its in C:\Documents and Settings\"his user name"\Application Data\Microsoft\Address Book
  10. This should get you into the settings on it mate http://www.tech-faq.com/setup-linksys-router.shtml If you turn the router upside down it should have the router details on a sticker somewhere, once you're logged into the you'll see what firmware is installed on the setup screen too
  11. It could be the router, it could also be the wireless card in your pc, does the other pc get disconnects and really slow speeds too? If it doesnt swap the cards over to see if that sorts out your problem. If it doesnt it could be the router, try it on a different channel and or security setting, I had a belkin wireless card that would talk to my buffalo airstation on WPA but dropped the connection all over the place on WEP, I only found that out by messing around with the settings. You may have other wireless devices like phones that are interfering with the signal so try changing channels o
  12. Just checked over at http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/wiki/...p/Battlefield_2 and tested out their method, works a treat
  13. I'd suggest having a try of a few if I was buying one again, I bought a JVC model at a bargain price but it does have a lot of machine noise on all the recordings
  14. 2 games coming out now mate, [OFP: DR] by codemasters http://www.codemasters.com/flashpoint2/usa...flashpoint2.php and ArmA 2 by BI Studios http://www.arma2.com/ With sims starting to come out on console maybe theyre realising that gamers like to think too, not just be led down a path to complete a story. Who knows?
  15. Just read through the thread and I cant help feeling a bit confused, Ubisoft ditch a whole genre (tactical fps) and somebody makes a game about crab fishing? Now i'm not running the game down and I really hope it sells by the boatload (no pun intended), but if a game can come out on the latest hardware on a platform to which strategy games arent really suited then what is the problem with tactical first person shooters? Sorry to hijack your thread a bit mate, had a look on youtube, game looks bloody good, felt a bit seasick watching it
  16. Linear games are great for running you through stories or giving you a set experience and the good ones are really great, giving you the freedom to do what you want is something that most of us like to do though I think.
  17. I think the console developers could learn a great deal from the C64 and ZX Spectrum days, when they first came out games were rubbish, but later on as they got the hang of it games came out which were amazing considering the resources they had to use, problem with consoles is as soon as theyre getting the hang of it another console gets released and the old one is more or less abandoned.
  18. Great pic mate, nice to see you're all enjoying yourselves, now get that grey fluff from off your chin and stop looking like an old codger.
  19. This is a good place to find camo patterns mate http://www.kamouflage.net/
  20. Not difficult really is it, if its "top secret" then it doesnt leave the building unless its going on official business somewhere, not taken home on the train by some dozy tosspot whose mind is elsewhere.
  21. Maybe they should make new rules for taking out sensitive information, it should be nailed to their heads so they dont lose it.
  22. I'd go with testing each stick of memory separately as Dannik suggests, I had a dodgy stick in an old pc that kept throwing up these "driver" errors.
  23. What i was thinking of is a full version OS that can be altered without having to reboot so if you wanted to play a game, all the unneccessary processes could be turned off while you play then if you wanted to use office all the processes that needs would be turned back on.
  24. Or even better a "game" mode inside the windows operating system which turns off all the unneccessary processes that windows runs to make the system better optimized for games.
  25. History is repeating itself here 98SE=XP Vista=ME XP=????
