  1. I was doubtfull about arma 2 at first as I tried one of the battlefield games and didn't like the vehicles messing up my game of foot soldiering. I have become an ARMA 2 fan with one restriction. I only play that game when I at least have 3 hours of gaming ahead. I cannot find much fun in jumping in halfway a mission with no update on target status, and other tac info. With that said I only play tac dom at the moment. during the weke I try to find friends either in MW2 and COD4 MW2 only because I havent finished ranking up, hate that game otherwise.... I would love to see a different map in arma, with mor door to door combat (you can open/close doors in ARMA thats a feature I missed in every game since Ghost Recon! I still see a lot of potential in that game as modders work hard to bring it....
  2. an exosceleton that makes you jump 30-40 meters would rip your body apart (impossible IMO) a cloac well ther are flexible tft screens made nowadays, and they even implemented such stuff in fabric, only a good camera reading a 360 by 180 angle and projecting that on the cloac which off curse is fitted with nano technology processing rays in angles so you can see a different picture from every angle, well its possible, expensive but possible. It wouldn't surprise me if companies are working on it as we speak. for square features as tanks these devises are at test at the moment.....
  3. I guess GRAW was developed with the old 4:3 screens still in mind? so in FS the field of view could be more normal. Scoped up with the rest visible hmm, dunno but I guess a real soldier that scopes up uses his sight as a binocular and not using the periferical (did I jsut write that correct?) view much. It would make you eye focus slower (or am I wrong here) It could be used to detect movement, but as you zoom for the kill the sight should be scope only (at least for the sniper!) 3rd eprson view only for replay or x-box kiddies plz! I want a tactical PC shooter and not a console port as we know what they turn up to be!!!
  4. I've seen cloaking devices being tested and apart from thermal they do work. HULC whah? dunno what it is..... as for gameplay, I'd rather see some OICW variant come back than more predators or other gadgets. They should emphasise on better guns of these days (automatic shotgun firing rounds up to 200 meters and having delayed detonations after wind-shield penetration) or more anti-sniper tools that would place us in a current warfare stituation with snipers and roadside bombs with a tactical advantage of the near future. (maybe somwhat unrealistic but not too far out) That niche would make a real tactical shooter IMO, slower paced, RECON! and still frontline action to save regular army troops that arent that well trained and equipped. That sounds like the ultimate game to me.... a good mix of stealth, action, future and current tech playeable and attractive to many (more mature gamers taht are frustrated right now) the action should be with shorter target goals than ARMA has (more close combat, and urban combat with doors) and not too fast paced for the runners and gunners (no jumping, but climbing like arma OK)
  5. ohhhh darn, thats bad, very bad.... I always backup my PC on regular basis even though most stuff isn't important at all (only my photo's which I double back up on hdd and dvd)
  6. ah well it's been a long time since so many people read one thread at the same time....
  7. december.... darn thats a long wait again.... hope to participate in beta tests, did that with graw and graw2 makes the wait a bit shorter
  8. Whow nice picture there!
  9. I want 1'st person view. In replay a 3rd person view would be nice to show the errors made in tactical approach ( see were you didn't look) In Arma I use 3'rd person view for driving vehicles otherwise I crash into every tree (too small field of view from the vehicle)
  10. I got the game from a friend who waited too long for delivery and got a 2nd copy off. I do like the game for fun games, but there is absolutely no use for tactics, and finding games with friends (when ther are more than 4-5 online) is horrible.... If the next version of this game will be the same I doubt the boycot to stop at 300.000 they won't be that lucky again. Hopefully bad company 2 (haven't played its predecessors) or even gr4 fill up the huge gap. I even started playing GRAW again during the holiday season.... Arma 2 is fun too but I need a whole night to be able to play it in the good way and those nights are scarce now.... but MW2 did a good job ripping the MP community apart I rmemember week nights with 15+ of BPR online, and now 4-5 max with fri-nights 10 of which half on COD and half on Sparta playing Arma.... no good times I say....
  11. hmm bad luck there bro.... In never fried anything (knocks on wood) once forgot to put spacers below my mainboard (first rig built) and even then my PSU saved me from frying the motherboard.... Good luck with the repairs...
  12. oh I could do well, during the sumemr holiday camping I read books and play games with the kids (boardgames some of you might remember how they look....lol) but for work my PC is neccesary, though I write a lot of hand notes.... My mobile phone is off during holidays, but for traveling I use my dumb dumb as we call the navigator.... would be harder to do without that nowadays.....(no more arguements over getting lost in the car....)

  15. I'm not gonna start an discussion over self defence here, but in the Netherlands crime is dealt with by good justice, with programs to get people back in a normal life after doing their sentence, and offering them a house and a job (not for free but after a good behaviour) The big differences the US knows in welfare (if you are broke there's no state fund to help you enough) causes more crime than guns can deter.... It would be better to do something about that My guess... I hope the new health bill turns out well and shows people that by being more social-feeling (dunno the proper phrase for that) most of the crimes can be prevented. Off course there are always people in the wrong place with a lack of social feeling (or a brain decease) doing crimes, but you see most of the pople ending up in Dutch jails have some sort of dicease..... so either people wittingly doing crimes stay out of the hands of justice or our social network eliminates most of the problems causing crime amongs normal people.
  16. Dutch Military used recon planes in the Netherlands for crowd control over silvester.... on request by local governors....
  17. hope he gets well soon.... 2 steps forward 1 back is still progress, though many of us wish better off course...
