  1. The thing is, Crysis is a DX10 game (or at least DX10 is needed to scale to the "max" graphical settings). As of right now, no card on the market supports DX10 due to the fact that Microsoft is only going to release DX10 for their upcoming OS (Vista), which has gone under numerous delays. The earliest expected date now is around Q2 of next year I think (they change it every week).

    The problem with this? I'm sure many people have already had a hard time stretching their budgets to upgrade to a card that can run GRAW appropriately. Now imagine purchasing a $300-500 OS + top-of-the-line card. Not exactly a mass-adoption situation either.

    Many developers are just pushing technology to get ahead of the game nowadays. GRAW isn't alone. It's an unfortunate cycle; someone needs to go smack all the devs and tell them to focus their manpower on gameplay instead. :P
