  1. Basic physics: the bullet will start to fall as soon as it leaves the muzzle. Since it does not have an airfoil, there's nothing to make it rise, except the inclination of the barrel. There's a classic physics riddle concerning this: in an ideal world (vacuum, no curvature of the earth), if you fire a gun and drop a bullet on the ground at the exact moment the fired bullet leaves the muzzle, which will hit the ground first? Answer: they both hit the ground at the same time. Bullets appear to rise because the barrel is inclined upward to hit a distant target. Think of the trajectory of
  2. 10mm looks a lot like 40 S&W. I don't have an 9mm guns at home, but 9mm is just a bit smaller than the 40 S&W.
  3. All hell breaks loose almost instantly! How do you guys do it? I notice all the on-line walk-throughs stop at Mission 09.
  4. I had these laying around the house, so I thought I might put them together as a visual reference:
  5. I'll be a smart-ass too: there is essentially no practical difference between the two. Almost all sporting rifles (which include most AR variants) chambered for one are safe to shoot the other. If you walk into a gun store or gun show to buy .223, don't be surprised if they hand you some 5.56 NATO. It's basically the same stuff.
  6. So today I fired up Winamp and made a playlist by adding the following directories: C:\Program Files\Red Storm Entertainment\Ghost Recon\Mods\Origmiss\Sound\F_Voice_1 C:\Program Files\Red Storm Entertainment\Ghost Recon\Mods\Origmiss\Sound\M_Voice_1 C:\Program Files\Red Storm Entertainment\Ghost Recon\Mods\Origmiss\Sound\M_Voice_2 C:\Program Files\Red Storm Entertainment\Ghost Recon\Mods\Origmiss\Sound\Russian_Voice Then I set it on shuffle and let 'er rip. My god, after a few minutes tears were running down my cheeks.
  7. During the last day I have been experiencing program crashes when running a quick mission with Paper Angle (I think that's what it's called; the one with the bridge to be blown). What happens is I have been sending my team down to the bridge, in violation of the briefing officer's recomendation, to wipe out the defenders and their armor, which then makes it easy to plant the demolition charges without being bothered. Twice the program crashed the moment I planted the first charge. So I decided to reboot the computer and see if there's just a memory leak somewhere (I am running XP Profes
  8. Whoa. I was just fooling around in there and suddenly realized everything in the game that isn't actually binary is XML. Way cool.
