It seems that a very recent attack on a residential neighborhood in Baghdad was not an accident this time. Apparently, acting on "very reliable" info fom locals or spies operating in the neighborhood................ U.S. planes were giving targeting coordinates for a house that Saddam was believed to have been hiding. U.S. officials are VERY CONFIDENT this time that maddas may in fact have been TAKEN OUT. Yeah I saw that on tv. Iraqis running away and one of them was caught in his underwear!! Incredible! We did lose a bradley though with 4 marines dead but even still we kicking their butts literally all over the place. But to be cautionary there are iraqi snipers operating out of the same hotels that journalists are stationed at. Well I'm not scrambling to buy the very next ticket to Paris thats for sure. But that stuff is another matter altogether. I'm just concentrating on the battle of baghdad and the elements of that battle that should be considered. IF you have any useful thoughts on that besides "bloodbath" then please suggest them. Yes, thats what I was going to say. Sort of a reverse guerilla warfare? Send in small fast raiding assault teams at selected targets within the city then pull out fast. Hit and run tactics. Yeah that sounds real good. I wonder if this is how you train counter guerillas to operate. Yeah sort of like turning the table on the defending force because traditionally in this type of combat the defending force usually has the upper hand. Ok................ Coalition forces have taken the Saddam Intl Airport and discovered a network of tunnels underneath that I will comment on in a bit. But at the moment, besides the airport the troops are almost at the doorstep of Baghdad and is probably surrounded as we speak.
