    # [3.14] Large Images Please do not include large images directly in a post as it blows out the forum formatting and causes delays for dial-up users. Any large image (greater than 500 pixels wide) should be posted as a URL instead of as an Image, or resized down to 500 pixels.

    Ok thanks.

  3. Have had no problems whatsoever with my 30" 16:10 aspect ratio 2560x1600 resolution monitor.

Games scale nicely and halflife2 especially. In fact I've already played several games now that run at the full native res and its a sight to be hold lemme tell ya! :D

But.....I think I'm going to get another lcd monitor that only runs at 16:9 and 1920x1200 resolution or 1080p. Why you may ask? Well.......*sigh* because its only a measly 52" freakin inches with 500000:1 dynamic contrast ratio boooyaaaaaa!!!! :P Try playin the COD4 demo on that monster and watch ya head explode!!!!!!

  4. Its FRIDAY and I need help for J&R store purchase pleaseeeee

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Its Friday evening and I have just enough time before i catch the subway to run to the J&R electronics store. I am jealous of the new gateway 30 incher with inputs galore and the ability to upscale any content you plug into it...tv,console whatever.

And I'm stuck at home with an hp lp3065 30incher at 2560x1600 and I can't plug anything into it except pc dvi. I'm going to post a link at the bottom of this page for listings on J&R's website for products to plug to a pc to accept input from various sources. All I want to be able to do this weekend is plug my directtv coaxial cable into my pc or monitor and be able to watch tv and surf the net at the same time.

Can someone please read through J&R's listings and recommend to me a product that would do the job?

    Please?

  5. I never finished college. :(

Got disillusioned with the education system in general and the job market wanting experience and all that crap. I'm very depressed with the idea of having to take out yet even more college loans just so I can have the privilege of getting what ultimately would be...a dumb, mind-numbingly boring, drone workerbee type, soul sucking job.

While my current job does suck (its a city job) at least I have a lot of freedom (A LOT OF FREEDOM) that most people in a regular job simply does not have. LOL I mean I REALLY get to get away without a lot of crap! So for now I guess it satisfies me. Eventually though I guess I would be going back to school anyway so I could attempt to find a more fulfilling job.

Not sure what though. Time will tell I suppose. :(

  6. Yeah its like the one of the few movies I'm looking forward to seeing this summer. Live free or diehard was alright though.

P.S. And when are we going to get another good decent modern special forces movie? I haven't seen one in ages it seems.

  7. Who would really like to see Ghost Recon: Reloaded?

The [Ghost Recon] but with a better game engine, nicer graphics and all that...

If the game was released, how well would it sell?

An idea I had was to start a "Charity" no share-holders but...

If we all spent £10 as a subscription to the game as a finished article

with the guarantee that we could buy it for £20 on release....

GRAW sold 120,000 copies in Europe alone.

    That's 1.2 million at £10 a pop.

Enough for the "Charity" to buy the rights?, provide royalties to RedStorm and UBI from the sales?

and leave enough to pay the developer?

Imagine it...a game for the people, by the people... :P

    I've got £10 I could spare :santa:

I would!!! Where do I sign up for this? :D

Oh yeah Krise is right. I'm a regular member over at blackfootstudios. Their project has the same feeling as when [GR] was first starting out. I've never had that exciting type feeling again till blackfoot came along. Ferget [GR] reloaded.....how about GhostRecon Beyond!! :)

  8. yeah and the good thing(on the one hand) is, he shot around 10 rounds of 9mm and didn't hit his target. he hit cars, telephone poles, every damn thing else but who he was shooting at. On the other hand, 10 rounds and can't hit the bright side of the barn..what kinda security guard is he?

also the shooter has only been on the job 3 days. this was all over one supposedly calling the other one stupid.

Well I think I can safely bet that the hospital is going to cancel the contract they have with that security outfit that provided the guards.

I know I would if I was the hospital admin. <_<

  9. the great volume of them.

That's the point where you deploy your flamethrower.

I'm not sure how helpful that be since they don't feel pain. Perhaps if the fire damages enough brain tissue then you can take out the zombie you targeted.

Yeah, fire's an awful way to fight zombies. Even if it works, and you light a hundred, thats 100 stumbling, flaming torches ready to set the city you're in on fire. Not exactly an ideal situation.

Stalker, if you like Max Brooks' writing, check out World War Z -- it's a fictional history of a zombie apocalypse, really well put together.

I was skimming through the latest chapters and I think he threw in a section about World War Z. So I think I will get the...meat...of it.....get it? :P

And more about flamethrowers lemme type in a quick excerpt from the book:

"......Finally, at five meters, we used the last bit of fuel in the flamethrower! The sons of bitches lit up like torches but just wouldn't stop! One of them grabbed [Name Withheld], setting him on fire as it bit through his neck. I saw the rest of those things surround him as we took off for the jungle, a mob of burning bodies squatting down to tear another screamin human torch apart. godamn the devil's mother, what the hell were we supposed to do!?!"

---serbian mercenary during the Zairian civil war, 1994

  10. So does that book say how they move so fast while only walking? I've always wondered how the victim can run for miles and the zombie walks and still beats them around the corner.

Well the book says something I don't agree with and that is that zombies move relatively slow. I think they can move fast when they want to especially when they lunge for your throat! :o

But what I do agree about zombies with the book so far is that they move without coordination. And that while they say they don't move fast I agree when they say that zombies have incredible stamina.

Zombies don't get tired. There is no lactic acid that slows their muscles down and they don't have any pain sensors. So they can do things beyond what normal humans can do in certain areas. If it is true that they move slow it would still be bad for us because as we are running for our lives we will eventually get tired. But the zombies will continue to come after us with a steady, never ending pace.

So they can push themselves till their muscles literally tear apart.

Good for us though that means they will eventually break down over time because zombies can't heal the tears in their muscles like living humans can.
