Thx for your imput Jack, but if I understand it correctly, this would respawn a player into the house, which is occupied by tangos (a nasty situation indeed). I would like to be able to respawn outside the house until it is cleared of tangos (ie. death of platoon x which is occupying the house) then respawn inside the house to repel a counter-attack. I'm not familiar with the igor directives such as redirectif or the counters. Maybe these could be used somehow? btw, where can I find some info on how these other igor directives function ?

Actually, I tried that. I made the 2nd insertion zone show after the death of a platoon and the original insertion zone hide at the same time. Unfortunately, it didn't work. thx for the suggestion, though.

I'd like to script a mission where you have to assault a house to rescue some hostages and then hold out till help arrives. The insertion zone needs to be outside of the house, but I would like to change the mission insertion zone to be inside the house after the building is secure (just in case you can't hold off counter-attacking forces) I've tried the variablesetzone and examined GR's original missions for clues but ... I guess I'm clueless. Any suggestions ?? thx

I always get confused when I'm trying to create a Player Platoon. At startup I add a block VariableSetPlatoon. From previous posts I've read it would appear that you start with the variable tab and select the top edit button. From here I'm messing up. From the top pull down menu (tags) do you select platoon or PlatoonRef as the type ? Then it would appear that you would add then close this window. At the platoon tab, you would use the lower right edit button, select the GetPlayerPlatoon from the two choices. When you close this menu page, are you done or do you have to select a choice fr

Somewhere I've seen instructions on how to set up a desktop shortcut to have the computer serve as a server. Does anyone remember how the shortcut is setup? I recently had to re-format my drive and I'd forgotten how I did this. thx rc

I've been able to script tanks to "fire" the main gun by placing zones on the map where I want the tank to "fire". Then I place effects in the zone to simulate the muzzle flash. You'll have to play with the effect height to approximate the main gun height. Then I script a sound to play when the tank approaches the zone and activates the muzzle flash effect. Then I also script an explosion to occur at a distance from the zone to simulate the shell impact. Or in turn you could use this to destroy a vehicle in sight of the tank by scripting that vehicle's destruction and use an out-of-control

Does anybody know how to reactivate a response triggered by a player-platoon activated proximity zone? I can make to response work the 1st time a player encounters the zone but I don't know how to set it to trigger if a player encounters the zone a second time. thx rcrph

I would like to upgrade my aging 1G Athlons. Any suggestions for a reliable on-line hardware retailer ?

I was able to add a blackhawk on the ground at the start of a mission where you exit with a couple friendlies then takes off and disappears in a low cloud cover which I achieved by adding fog and playing with with the color and sighting distances. The curious thing is that it flies in a fluid manner only in single player. When I play the same mission in multi-player it just disappears. Anybody have any ideas on that ?

OK, I must be missing something when I try to add effects to a mission. I place an effect, name it with the effect type, reference it to the trigger in the script but no go. I checked out Wolfsong's effect demo but I'm not sure exactly what I've missed. Is there some kind of a zone that must be placed on the map and associated with the effect that determines the size? If so, how is this accomplished. Would someone please explain the process in a step-wise fashion with an example. I'm attempting to create an explosion with a resulting fire after a demo charge is placed in a zone. I've been a

I want to create an Iraqi war mission and want to change the name assignment that you receive after you kill an actor. In other words, how do you change the list of actors from Russian or FDG soldier to Iraqi soldiers ?

Just wanted to say thx for the help. It's community support from guys like you that really extend GR and transform it from a great game to the best that one could possibly hope for.

I used the save as option and gave the mission a different name and it did save the changes. Yesterday I tried changing a number of older missions and encountered the same problem. Last week, GR started locking up and crashing. I deleted the game and attempted to reinstall it when I ran into some other problems which I believe we're related to Windows. I reinstalled Windows Me and reinstalled GR. I now believe that the problem must lie somewhere with this installation. Most curious.

I'm getting an IGOR error message in a mission I've previously created when I attempt to make changes. It says "Could not save to C:\Program Files\Red Storm Entertainment\ Ghost Recon\ Mods\MP2\mission name. Be sure the file is not write protected." How do I un-do this so that I can correct some mission problems ? thx
