question. i am not a subscriber to ign, i just use the free services. for the paid stuff, do you still see the ads on some of the pages? i have never really cared about the ads myself. i use mozilla and have 20 tabs open at any given time so i just click continue and move to the next tab and come back to it later. as for big business and choices, we will always have choices. will ign be the best choice? they should be with all they got and will gett, but even if they arent, there still will be othres out there. look at examples in software. os- microsoft, apple, linux ; browsers- ie, opera, mozilla ; video game- pc, nintendo, sony, microsoft ; cars, toys, cable, phone, anything there has ever been a monopoly in we have always had other solutions. so i dont fear big business. -caf

i think this is a good deal. i have been a fan of ign for a long time. remember, most of the downloads for gr from this website come from an ign owned site: fileplanet. they are still free. -caf

just a question about the mod? i used igor and checked the multiplayer checkbox so i could play online with some friends. missions 1-4 work great with two ppl. mission 5 doesnt work multiplayer at all. my question is, when we have three or more playing the missions crash. is it just bc they were meant to be played solo? just wondering. oh, and again, cool missions... -caf

yeah im getting on now too as for trillian and gaim, no, if msn servers are down they wont let you access them but at least you could talk with a different account to your friends if they got some different accounts too. i try to get all my buddies to have at least two accounts...usually with msn and icq...

hi, im looking for the container yard map. the link in the forums doesnt work. i have went to a couple sites now posting in forums asking about it. if you have a link can you post it? or if you just have the original compressed map tell me and we can set something up so i can get it. also, if you just have it on your computer in your mods folder, maybe you could make a copy of the container yard folder, zip it up, and send it my way? thanx. i know its in the fc map pack but there are a bunch of other mods in there too and i dont need them all. please help. -WCI-Caffeine

hi everybody! i am staring my first 12 hour gr marathon at 8pm tonight. come join me at the wci sar servers for a lot of fun games and give me a hello for support. my second 12 hour marathon is this sat night. think i am ready? i also have chips and salsa, cheese popcorn, icecream...just like i was a kid again! ok this may be premature but in light of recent news and previews of ghost recon 2: I TOLD YOU SO! that is to all the ppl who have no faith or who have always seen the glass as half empty in the ghost recon 2 development process. now i may still end up being wrong but it sure looks like they are going to get this game right. now if i can only make it until sept 16/17... nobody take offense or attack me please. like i said, i know i could still be wrong. its just looking good from where i sit

ok, this is just an idea and i dont know if somebody has tried it yet or if it even works so if anybody has any info for me just put it here please. in some ghost recon mods like utah beach there is water you can crouch into. is it possible to put a grass texture on top? make it look like there is grass blowing in the wind instead of water? not for utah beach but i mean in a mod in general. i was just thinking that if it was possible to do that and add a whole lot of trees with a dark atmosphere and maybe even some fog we could have a really good looking jungle map using ghost recon 1. thats all...thanks for any input you may have.

chems ive always respected you and your work. i wasnt saying ALL of us were hot heads. i was just saying we know who the quick to judge are. as for you last comment...you have your own opinion but my life this past year has been recon. i love this game. all my friends would tell you that. thats why i choose to keep faith until it comes out. if it sucks i will personally come on here and say it. hold me to it, ok? we got a couple months for you to remember this post anyways, ive said all i can say in its defense. im not going to be the only one to defend it in this post i started. i just wanted to get a good round of debate going this afternoon. i think it will be better than the first. not all parts of recon 1 are good to be a fan of (like not being able to heal up at least a little, not being able to pick up other weapons to at least despose of them, not being able to blow things clean away or hide in thick, lush environments, not being able to shoot down or ride in helos without a mod, etc, etc) if im wrong then so be it. if i turn out right then ubi and rse will be happier than me...im sure of that

omg! you mean its going to be like real life? i can pnly be one soldier? i can have a medic help me out a bit? if i CHOOSE to? i can pick up weapons my friends or enemies leave behind? oh no! what am i going to do with myself? wait! maybe i will enjoy it for being a little more realistic. as for the 3rd person view...well, if i can choose 1st person then thats what i will do. as for the scripted stuff....im sure they cant script multiplayer play through the scripted stuff once then move on to multiplayer all the time.

good point. the only problem is the first time i played recon was on the xbox and i never even saw the box. ive owned the pc version for over a year now and i still cant tell you what the box looks like. i know it says ghost recon gold on it

The past couple months has shown a lot of hot-heads and people who type before they think. We have learned who the sheep and wolves are. We have seen who the faithful and optimistic are. Ghost Recon wont suck. Will it be a great game? I dont know. I havent played a demo yet. I do know Ive seen both great tactical play and super run n gun in Ghost Recon play. It is all about the people who play, what they want to do on their own servers, and what mods they are running. Most of the time when i see something like hx5 or boom missions i think a lot of explosions and running. Then I go to servers with other mods that make the game harder and people turn the respawns off and it takes an hour or so to complete a map. Ghost Recon 2 will be the same way. Thats why it wont suck. Think Recon 1 with better graphics and better physics. Nough said.

awesome map, one of my new favs already...only problem i have with it is all the lamers on ubi who wont play it yet anybody know good servers where i can play these great mods at? (im really getting sick of hx5, no offense to those who made it - id just rather play other mappacks once in awhile)

um ....first post....better make it good ghost recon 2 is going to be more action focused, dumbed down, based off a wimpy console system, and trained monkeys will be able to beat this game...wow...sign up the mass market now b/c this is going to be a hit with them. there are some great modders out there on ghost recon one. some of the mods (hx5, frostbite, unreal, and woi) are just so beyond what the designers had in mind they are basically sequals in of themselves. cant these same great modders, some of who changed recon from a slow game to an action game, mod the new recon into a slower more methodical game like the original? im going to wait till ppl actually preview and review a pc version but right now putting a little cash back for this game in case in turns out to be good. thats all.
