Yep... won't be wasting my money on this one. Ghost Recon is dead to me... thanks for nothing Ubisoft...

Expectation-setting is an art-form. I certainly hope the folks that are standing behind you drafting concept art, doing code updates... or more to the point... making decisions about the game's features, functionality and intent... understand the expectation you just set with that single sentence. -JohnK

No arguments here... and HELLO to a bunch of old and dear friends! I'm glad I took a few minutes to stop by and look at the headlines today.... hadn't heard about GR4 (or whatever the heck the name will be) until now. Here's my list in no particular order: 1) Give me Ghost Recon Redux - [GR] Plus modern graphics, sound and gameplay 2) Give me DIRECT IP CONNECTION and GameSpy 3) Give me Mission Packs at regular intervals and you WILL get my money! 4) For Krise - NORG. 5) Give me a strong SP campaign but butt-kicking MP abilities, too. 6) Open, non-scripted maps that

Ubisoft buys rights to "Tom Clancy" name
kretzj replied to Pave Low's topic in The Video Gaming Industry Discussion
I see not much has changed around here since I left awhile ago. Good to see old friends... good to see new faces. Still wishing we didn't have to argue over the same damn situation. I read that Ubi bought Tom Clancy's soul for $20 million or so. Figures. The spirit's been dead for awhile now so selling the soul is just that much easier. -John K. -
Hey everyone, Well, I am looking at how much time I have available in my life, with job / girlfriend / gaming / etc and I've realized I'm coming up short. I haven't been around here that much lately... time to time I check in and post about our PatchFest fun... but I think I have to say that it's about time I mosey on down the path. I spent a LOT of time today back on the Blackfoot Studios forum for Ground Branch and I've decided that what little time I have going forward for online forum chat / etc. will be devoted there. I've been a Ghost Recon fan since it's inception. I own 13 c

I hear ya Rabbi... I was playing [GR] last night for 2 hours and loved every minute of it. Who says a 7 year old game can't still be fun. -John K.

Frustrating, isn't it? If I could play GRAW on console with a keyboard and mouse I would never buy another PC version again. Really? So you're okay with the arcade/hollywood feel and the pretty sparkly hud, and not being able to mod at all? Wow. Before anyone scoffs at the mod reference, I would remind you of Brettzies and Snowfella's mods, and the indispensable NoCom mod. Of course I'm NOT okay with all the sci-fi crap, but do I tolerate sci-fi crap AND get continuous content, or do I get a slimmed down HUD but it comes with limited patch support and NO content? Sorry, I

Point taken Dannik, but it's not like we've been given the OPPORTUNITY to pay for new content, either. I'm ticked about that point... the PC market isn't even good enough to milk for more money. How's that for "writing on the wall"? -John K.

TEST01 London with 1.05 patch spotted tonight

Sorry Wolf. I meant the whole bloody patch process is a sick joke. The empty placeholder? That's the punchline. -John K. -

Agreed x2. -John K. -

So how many are still playing Graw2

It also kills any thought of a future expansion pack. Hmm.... I wonder. Let's put the thinking hat on for a moment. Giving the game away is like giving the razor away... if they can use the "freebie" deal to build the base of players, it gives them a bigger customer base to buy an expansion pack (thus buy the razor blades). Could there be a positive somewhere in this recent decision, or are we just like usual.... blinded to reality by our desire to have a better product? -John K. way to stay positive, but i think you got that hat on backwards... for starters, it's not free, no -
From memory? Wolf.. you don't play GRAW2 anymore? Sorry Wolf... "I had the shot, there was no danger so I took it. And I broke a major rule of forum engagement." -John K.
