Yes, people cant play ArmA for 2-3 days now, cause of the Gamespy problems. They cant see the servers list.
Only joining by IP u can join a server.
-
the sounds are not an strong point on this game but there are already 2 sounds addons which change most of them.
BTW, congrats u beat it

-
As for probably release schedule/unification, I'll defer to bati. I was fortunate to start out with 1.05 (acquired via download from Sprocket), so I guess I completely missed out on the period of incompatibility while everyone got brought up to 1.05. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed that any such event surrounding the NA release will be short.
Not sure, but i guess the 505 version (v1.04) was out on February 16th and the patch (v1.05) was going to be released by the end of the month, but they had some problems and it was released on March 2nd.
So i expect something like that if there is any new content on the NA release, by looking to some SS it looks like it will, around 2 weeks with different versions till a patch unify all of them.
EDIT: If u check this news:
http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=1076
Reading what Maruk says u can find:
testing and feedback that may help us to improve full official patch 1.07 that will be released later.I guess i was right, NA releases at v1.06 and a later patch v1.07 to unify all versions.
-
In fact, it was like ArmA English being at 1.04 and the rest at 1.02 and lower.
Then, after some days they released the 1.05 patch to unify all.
So i expect something similar:
NA release at 1.06 and some days later a 1.07 patch to make all games compatible. Actually 2 patches (one smaller to fix some bugs the NA release may have and another big which adds the "possible" new content the NA release will have to the rest of the world + the fixes).

I didnt try the demo, but its not a SP demo so the mission is meant to be played on coop.
About the lag i guess its the server u were playing one.
About accuracy i guess u are used to GRAW and it takes time. The weapons, the aiming, ... are different, just practice.
-
I don't see that the controls are so hard.
I'm using default ones but the changes i made between enter, spacebar and middle mouse, to be able to use the last one with ventrilo comm program.
-
Dont get me wrong

Probably didn't chose the right words, my fault. (spanish piggy here)
I think that there wont be more than 4 players in SP campaign, about coop i dont know. But who knows, if they would release any info all this wont happen, trying to assume is hard.
-
Or not Colin

Maybe there are more characters available, but u have to select 4 at the starting point (actually 3 + u as leader).
Why did the pics only show leader and 3 soldiers?
So don't run so fast, just wait till they release any info and don't try to assume anything.

I want the players to select their kits while in the briefing screen.
silent_op
At least in our server thats not a good idea. Most of the time it crashes/hangs the mission and make the reassign fail as well.
Anyways i don't know the answer but i prefer that the mission maker selects the weapons or that they add some ammo crates/vehicles at start of the mission.
-
That one its only for pbo missions, so u download a mission (.pbo) and u place the pbo in that folder.
What u have to do is just unpbo one and put the folder/files in the MPmissions folder in the profile u are using, that way u can open it with the editor.
-
What MPMissions folder are u using?
My Documents\ArmA Other Profiles\URNICK\MPMissions is the one.
-
We are sorry but we have to delay the release of GRAW2 for PC. This is cause we have put so much GHOST back in the game that we have lost them. More info to come in next weeks.

U made few mistakes

First in the launcher the directory is not Addons, it would be the name u give to the main folder.
U create @mymod and @mymod\addons (where u place the .pbo) folders, but in the launcher the directory u have to add is @mymod.
U dont have to add c:\....... just the name @mymod

After u added the mod, in the main window u have to check the mod u wanna launch:

And then launch the game for MP or SP.
-
Not yet i guess, they have to release the modding tools yet.
They said they would start on these tools after the 505Games release and they would release them during the next few months.
Anyways looking forward for some SS

-
They work here, and i have an AC97 onboard one and i can check the sound is different on those mods.
To check if that works u could use any other addon, some units one, and check if they appear in the editor after launching the game

-
u have to launch the game with -mod=NAMEOFTHEFOLDER in the shortcut, or u could use the ArmALauncher by Kegety's.
there u can select what mod to launch, first u have to add it in the options of the program.
I use that program, its really nice and since im only play in armaholic server or few others its nice cause i can add them to the MP server list and directly start the game.
Also in the options check "skip splash screens" and when u launch the game u wont have to watch the intro movies anymore.
If u have more Qs just ask here or at armaholic.com.
I hope i was clear enough

EDIT: if u use the method of creating a modfolder remember that inside that one must be another called addons where u place the .pbo files.
If u dont want to use the modfolder method u can just place the .pbo files always in the ArmA\Addons folder, but that will launch all the addons u place there every time u start the game (RAM and loading times issues)

There are 2 sound mods:
Check them at armaholic here:

In Spain 29/3/2007 and 19,95€ (cause of CodeGame policy from UbiSoft here) and GRAW1 at 4,95€.
Anyways im sure in Spain wont hit at same time as the rest of Europe, its always the same
(but i dont care, maybe with time i buy this game) -
while we wait for this patch u can check a new video, this time showing the freeaim and how it works now with trackIR:
http://www.armaholic.com/forums.php?m=posts&p=2696#2696
its just a quick one so dont expect same quality as the other but .... still a good one.
-
Download Arma in it's latest European version 1.05 and enjoy the large-scale military conflict spread over large areas on your PC
my guess would be that it'll be ready for dl when the 1.05 patch is comming out, witch probably should be tonight or tomorrow, since they said late feb....
the patch 1.05 was delayed probably till friday as they said:

Check that news at armaholic and dont forget to take a look at the video showing the new ironsight movement, the link to it its in the same news.

If u need some help D:
first "te" at the end of a verb cant be used like chinga te its chingate, all together. BTW chingar is a word mostly used at latin-america not in spain (though it exists). In spanish it would be "Que te jodan", notice this time "te" in front of the verb goes separated
.Nice spanish lesson.
el loco putas has no sense at all WK.

Now seriously, Rocky if u need some help im willing to do it.
U can type a message and ill translate it for u, use PM or whatever.

The demo didn't stop me from buying GRAW so that's not the solution neither in some cases (at least mine).
GRAW is/was a good game but definitely wasn't the game i was expecting so i stopped playing it many months ago. By checking the demo you wouldn't see that people "wouldn't be able" to mod it, to create real missions, stealth, open spaces, .... the things i liked in GR.
Simply GRAW wasn't a game for me. Nor bad nor good just not of my tastes.
That's why this time i will wait months to see the direction it takes before buying it, if i do it.
About the topic, i think as Pondlife said we tend to think that we represent more that we really do.
