  1. yup, it's a remington 700 based action. I don't know too mcuh about guns. But apparently this is one DEVGRU uses. It's an Aurora Tactical M91. (do a google search to find their website).
  2. excellent. thank you. also, i did that Aurora tactical m91 i talked about (i suppose you saw it). What do you want to do with it? My 3DSM is really touchy lately. I think i'm gonna have to re-install it. Do you want the model to texture? I can give you the texture i made for it....i think it would make a real nice specialist weap...
  3. ok, i knew that one. 8/11
  4. I think it's really good that you know what you want to do. It is a very good thing, and says a lot about you that you are this motivated that you would go to all this trouble for a long shot. I am your age, and have never done anything like you are doing now (or know anyone that has). So good luck to you. I sincerly hope this works out for you one way or another in the long run.
  5. i think this puts me at the back of the pack...7/10!
  6. ya, the vest. okay... ...soon and do you have that big e-mail account so i can send you the stuff i've already done?
  7. I know i've shown renders here before a not a lot has happened to the models after. This time i'm gonna try and get this one to work. Here is the first try model. The gun is an Aurora Tactical M91 with a US Optics sn3 scope (yes the scope is supposed to be that big!) It's got 1145 pollys, so i think I can add a bit more detail. Any technical comments, have i modeled a part wrong etc??? I'm sure i'll be posting here again with questions (read, desperate cries for help) once i start trying to texture it. oh, and thank you to all the people in the "sniper rifles" topic who helped me out
  8. ok. I finished a model of the Aurora Tactical M91 with a US Optics sn3 scope (the scope is huge) . The model as it is now has 1145 pollys with a pretty high detail scope and stock. I tried to host the pic at my little free serve site, but it's been a real pain in the A** lately. Stupid windows says that angel fire is trying to do illigal things... ... -EDIT-I got the image on a different site. check out the "My latest render" topic.
  9. guilty of trying to lick my elbow... ....what? it's the only one I could verify sitting here.
  10. man, that last one was tough. So far i'm 7 for 9. not bad for a 10th grader...
  11. haha! ya, i learned a lot just from staring at some of his un-textured renders. no joke.
  12. excellent, thanks for the information all. btw, what US Optics scope would a military sniper most likely use?
  13. nice work Swartz. It looks much more in preportion now. About making the holes. I have never tried Alfa blending et all, but from what i've seen it looks like a really good solution. Also, as you said, it save a HUGE number of pollys
  14. glad to help Velocity. Just keep this thing going. It's a really fun little distraction.
  15. looks really good. The only minor thing I would do is make the forward grip a little thicker.
  16. wow! excellent topic guys. ok, so now i know what rifle to make, i need to know what scope to put on top of it. So, what scopes would the SOF use (custom or issued) on thier bolt action and semi-autos?
  17. ok, well since you asked i'd vote to have the winning sig displayed on the news page. maybe with any particularly good runner ups?
  18. oohhh, i thought so. thanks.
  19. lol! it makes perfect sense, really. (no sarcasm) i guess it's fun trying to sneak in and sneak out. I only killed 4 tango's when i played.
  20. i have to say it wasn't as good as the first one. Now don't get me wrong, this means it's still far better than most movies, but somehow not really on par with the first. I'm gonna need to see it a second time to really catch everything.
  21. in the last pic you posted Mac, it looks like the SR25 and SPR use different bi-pods. I think the SPR uses a Harris bi-pod. That's the first time i've ever seen one on a US military rifle (could just be me though ) also, isn't the guy holding the rifle US? he looks it. and he's wearing US camo pants...is he just showing of his nice new rifle to the soldiers?
