  1. i think firefly got it right. then again, i'm just a city boy, i ain't got no right to talk. lol, i was pre hack. man, when i lost those hundred odd posts, i thought it'd take forever to get 'em back! now look at me! some of those eighthundred might have been useful too! wow.
  2. Those characters are great, really great. You've done an amazing job of giving them "character", they really look like they're a tough, haggard bunch of guys. amazing!
  3. wow! looks awesome Pibb (sorry, Mr. Pibb). glad to hear you added music to the missions. It makes a HUGE difference. Thanks for all the hard work that's clearly gone into this.
  4. ya. It is pretty rough. Lets hope it's just the Beta though. tbh, i've never really played much of the SWAT series before. had SWAT3 for a bit, thought it was ok, nothing to great. SWAT4 is rough, like Hoak said, but it's got lots of good ideas. Anyway, SP will make or break it for me.
  5. politics are banned, i know, all i'm saying is that the photo you saw wasn't recent (i'd be VERY surprised if it was). With the elections in Ukraine things pobably aren't so close between the US and Russia right now. @Sup: ! Hatchet's in on it. He's prolly the general for the Iran op. He's just not telling 'cause he's a modest guy like that.
  6. the unit WAS named Grey Fox. This journalist is quite respectable. He is the one who uncovered the stuff that was going on at Abu Ghrabe (sp??) prison. Now i'm not about to believe everything said in the media. But the US gov't hasn't actually denied that trops are in Iran. If there were no troops in Iran and this article came out, they would have just said "we don't have any troops in Iran." anyway, just my two cents.
  7. there's an open multiplayer only open beta on fileplanet now. You DON'T have to be a member to try it out. Hurry, there's only a limited number of activation keys to go around. Once you fill out some info (name, e-mail etc.) they give you your key and a spot in the d/l line. I've just played it here are some impressions: -overall, very promissing. well ballanced game -player movement is VERY slow. realistic i guess, but quite slow. -visual effects are amazing. tear gas, tazers, very cool. -use the m4, as far as i can tell, the mp5 doesn't seem to have an advantage in the game. -quite t
  8. the forums are pretty active. Lots of ideas. If you were a fan of Rouge Spear, you should love this when it comes out. it's shaping up to be a very good community. Many familiar faces. Can't see what's going on in the dev section, but apparently it's really busy. visit the forums. it's worth it. yes, that poll was pretty good. I think it was MO's little thing. He seems to be the web guy around there. you gotta wonder how people who thought CS was realistic managed to end up on the TR site in the first place. go HERE for some weap renders to see the kind of work there guys can do. it's
  9. That's the same movie as "who dares, wins" It was just released in the US under a different name. see here -glad to see this topic around again. maybe re-pin it?
  10. very interesting article Chems. I also read the New Yorker article that the BBC one was based on. I found this interesting quote about a "covert" unit that was formerly named "Grey Fox"?? has anybody heard of this before or now anything about it? here the quote, straight outa the New Yorker:
  11. I really like it Calius I think the weather idea is pretty cool. Rain would look good....
  12. Thanks for updating this one. it's kinda vintage. Richmond, i think you are exactly right. I think i remember reading in these forums a long time ago that this was inspired by FMJ. The very first screenie looks exactly like the scene where they go after that female sniper in the building.
  13. @sup: i stand corrected. @Projectile: the lighting on that texture is great/amazing/...great.
  14. very nice M4's....what is the polycount of one of those beauties? ← They all hover around 7000 to 8000 without any deleted faces. I'm sure I can kick it down to five or six thousand if I tried. ← Are they for GR s_g? ← I'm 90% sure they're for the 5th SFG mod for HL2. Chems, Swartz, S_G, and many other of the most telented GR modders are working on it. No real news yet, but just look at the renders put out by the guys with the little 5th SFG tag in their sigs
  15. cool. thanks Cobblers, maybe i'll see you on there sometime. careful though, i'm pretty crap at CS
  16. renders are looking really good. Isn't Day of Defeat or whatever it is coming out on the source engine though?? Not that they shouldn't make the mod or anything, they'll just have a bit of competition. I have faith though, modder stuff is usually as good or better than the original.
  17. This is EXCELLENT news guys. i'm pretty stoked for this mod, but don't worry, i'll try to be patient.
  18. Funny thing is that it was looking OK on the max scene.... ← so how's this comming guys? that plane with the cd didn't crash did it! anyway, those 'chrs are lookin' pretty mean . thanks, and keep up the great work guys.
  19. cool. thanks Six, hard working as ever. Sorry i missed this one when it first came out. i'm downloading it now.
  20. Sorry JTF-2 but it's not a Firefox problem (It works great for me). Point is that the images host Streinger and I have chosen, although very reliable, is very slow so you have to wait the download of the image ← oh, ok, I see. Thanks Giwex. Is there somewhere in Firefox where i can set how long before the operation times out?
  21. wow, those are amazing. Can't wait to try 'em out in the HL2 engine.
  22. Yeah, I know. I downloaded some pictures from the actual prison uprising and tried to duplicate some of the outfits on the .chrs. They're supposed to look like big, blucky cold weather jackets hence the bland look. But, if you have any suggestions, I'm all ears ← oh, ok, i see now. Maybe some fur around the edges of the hoods? Your best bet is prolly to get a picture of a winter jacket similar to the ones the SAS/SBS use and use that as a starting point for your texture. that's what i normally do. anyway, looking good though mehn, can't wait to try this one out.
  23. ok, why can everyone else see the pics Streinger posts? the links never work for me is it a firefox thing? help! from what you guys are saying, this stuff sounds great...
  24. you guys could try hotmail. Free version now has 250mb storage and 10mb attachments!
  25. WOW! great stuff guys. s_g: awesome CQBR. But like whisper said, maybe the sight/scope thing is a little small/low? Can't wait for 5th SFG.... the UMP looks pretty sweet with the scope folded. nice work Projectile.... textures anyone?
