music to my ears mate

Well, notice in the original image that there's almost no shadow on the right side of the car, which means that the artificial light on the left of the car is positioned fairly low and facing slightly upwards.
That also explains the flat, bright reflection on the door.
exactly! now the lighting makes sense... i'll try and rerender the car with a second light on the right side. thanks.
-
@deleyt: if you take a look at the original background image, there are sharp/bright reflections from what should be the shadow side of the car. I kinda just tried to copy how the highlightes/shadows were on the origianl background car. I'll have another go at the shadows.
Yeah, I know what you mean buddy. That's an artificial light hitting it from the other side.
I was more refering to the shadows on the hood/grill of the car, coming from the setting sun and the reflection on the left side passengerwindow of the car.
The sunset creates a darker diffuse/ambient colour on those spots. Your composite has a flatter diffuse/ambient.
ahhh, ok, i see now. that's a little harder to fix. i'll see what i can do. thanks

some slight changes. I can't tell if it's any better... i might have made it worse

-
thanks guys.
@swartz: honestly i don't trust my photoshop skills enough to do the shadows myself. I'll give it a shot for the next one.

I wanted to try ccompositing for a while, some of the stuff i've seen at places like cgtalk is really amazing. Anyway, i didn't use any tutorials, i just did what i felt was right
I know it's a little off, there are many problems, but it's a first go.anyway, have a look, tell me what you think. C&C. [images are bigger, PB resized them]

render (still have no idea how to use Brazil to it's full effect):

keep 'em coming. i've been thinking about it, but i'm drawing a blank so far

ha! the best bit was when one of the girls had to look up at her display to get the name of the game she was representing. (it was the one with the Russian accent.)
I don't know if you want to sink quite that low DS. that guy really had NO shame.

Very nice. The difference on the US soldier is huge and, i think, makes a big difference. The Russian guys head/helmet is smaller, it help, but the changes aren't as critical as with the US soldier.
Having good character models that are believable and well animated makes a huge difference for a game. If the characters are believable and lifelike, the game is more absorbing, the sensation of "just playing a game" is lost more easily and sustained for longer. 0.02

BIS: make these changes.

i am very sad this will be the end of your GR-modding-career, but like i said before i am 100% sure we will see more from you, if not here, then on cgtalk displaying more of your awesome work or in a next-gen tactical computergame.
Also i would like to thank you for all that you have done for this community and all the help you gave other modders and me personally.

ps. You have my total support mate - part 3
couldn't have said it better myself, so i'll let swartsz say it again for me.
Thank You Snow
at times, you kept GR alive for me. -
jesus. that was awful, I... I.... I... can't describe how tasteless that was.
And that guy! Oi. It was so tacky. man. I had no idea that's what previews were like. Were all the previews like that one? similar style etc.?-on the plus side, it was cool to see the extended trailer/demo.

actually, that's an amazing bunch of cars there. TVR 440R racer. That'll be a first (officially) in a game. So will the Ultima GTR (it recently broke mclarens 0-60 and 0-100-0 records. It's an all out, purpose built racer. Looks and drives like a mini Le Mans racer).
Thanks for the update

-
indeed. The devs seem to be doing a great job of listening so far, let's hope that thread over at UBI gets read closely

-
eSKwaad: you PM doesn't seem to working or is full. You PM'ed me about .ATR files but i didn't get to read it before the forum chrashed. Can you ask the question here or re-send the PM? Thanks mate.
care to repost all those wonderful renders/in game shots?

thanks to the mystery people in mysterious server land.

-
The server was compromised.
The good news is that we implemented regular backups after the last crash. For the record, when gr.net is down, temp forums are activated at www.agr-s.com.

what does compromised mean? you guys are sounding like politicians. Does it mean hacked? overloaded? stuff leaked? sorry, maybe i just don't get the term.
Way to go with the regular backups. what a life saver those turned out to be

are agr-s and gr.net on different servers?
-
wow! thanks for getting gr.net up again so quickly.
Do you know what happened?
-
very nice! thanks for the update Hatchet
i'm really looking forward to seeing how this one turns out. -
[######] awesome! great work Cobra. nice to see some new stuff
hope they get released one day...[No swearing, please]
-
i love the 10mm SD version. it looks pretty bad ######.

tell us what you think of pure pwnage. It's shot right in my neighbourhood. The park he "trains" in, the telephone and atm he practices "micro" at, and everything else are all right in my enighbourhood (except the bits at fps doug's house). i couldn't believe it when i first saw it.
The Scene is awesome! i saw the first two episodes, and i'm getting the next ones now. once you start, you can't stop. nice find Rocky! thanks

-
wow! that was amazing. I guess this is one of those big leaps forward in computer technology?

thanks. i've never (thankfully) seen anything like that in real life.
