No, I had the command line to generate the "SHT" file wrong in the shortcut for Igor. After changing it, I made a basic map and it worked fine.
I followed the Basic Map Making Guide By =SeALZ=Papa6. If anyone knows where I can locate more guides please let me know.

I noticed that thread, doubled checked the env. file all looks ok, really wondering if its possible to make maps with 3d Studio Max 3.1., from what I can tell 3.1 is for characters and weapons. 4, 4.2 and 5 is for maps.
I used the example map found in the extras (MP_castle.max), imported it and then exported the map just to test it. I feel I had all the options set correctly in 3d max, how ever I a received this error during export "UVW MAP COORDS OBJECT 1 MISSING"
I also opened the map in notepad and compared it to the original. The format was alot different, it was also smaller in size 2.77MB compared to 3.06 mb.
It made me think I was way off base or perhapes 3.1 wont properly export maps.

Greetings all,
I'm a little confused about the version of 3d Studio max which can be used for making maps. So far all the guides I've read stated versions 4, 4.2 or 5 can be used. I have 3.1 and so far have been unable to export any playable maps.
As far as I can tell the plugins are in the proper place, but when I try to use the map in Igor, I receive the message "OUT OF MEMORY".
Any information will be helpful.
