Big, Wisdom is only gained through experience. There are millions of training manuals about being a soldier, NOTHING will ever replace an experienced soldier. You will never know that experience to make a judgment call, to fight in combat, to have a bullet fly by your head unless you do it Big. You can't learn it in a book and imagining it is no better then playing a video game.
Your on a 2 way range, its you or the other guy and maybe a guy in the middle sometimes.
You can kill the bad guys today with the loss of innocence, or possibly face losing your life or your buddies tomorrow. Because I promise you they will be back with that RPG.

Jesus, sometimes being a soldier (or pilot in this case???) It takes a little bit of courage to make a call like that. Dead gunmen with a few dead civilians or just let the gunmen run loose? How does one weight life??? Sorry, maybe Marcinko and a few others made this call before but for the rest of you. Probably won't quiet understand why that news reporters life is deemed expendable.

The story line was actually made within the past few days when I really started brainstorming. Its going to be easy to tell from start to finish through the briefings and videos played after missions. The thing I realized over the past year is telling the story through game play is almost impossible, although the start mission sounds and a few zone activated dialogues will definitly let you feel what the characters personalities are the rest has to be in the briefings.
The missions of course will go along with the name of the mod "Sabotage" its about disabling the generals strong hold and breaking it down of course no stories good with no twists or peaks
The guts of this mod is definitely going to be the quality
The glory is that feeling of damn special forces freak stuff up.

Kazza, limewire, bittorent = the dealers, pushers, guys on the corner.
and the internet service providers = the guys running the stuff over the borders.
It would be nearly impossible to stop the entire population, lets face it everyone wants stuff for free.
Kazaa and lime wire will always keep popping up, its hard to track them aswell.
ISP really arent to blame but would be the best are to stop it since it potentially has the most impact.
Question here is privacy vs ISP. I know people that download like madmen, movies, games, music and the whole lot of it. I can see the potential for their ISP to root them out. I have about a 2,000song mp3 collection and almost no movies. Theirs are easy 6x as much with 100s of movies even in blue ray. At 1$ a download for most songs these days. Why not buy your music? I can get exactly what I want and still contribute to industry???? seems ludicrous but people are cheap.
but where their bandwith might be xx,xxxGB per year, I might be just as close downloading other stuff. Legal HD Videos (NETFLIX), Game patches, software, sharing photos at 3mb each, running my website etc. I find it hard to imagine that in reality the regular user could possible get much higher over my level of bandwith usage.
I dunno the industry is suffering big time because of it and even ISPs have become sluggish in areas during pirating hot times. The 1$ MP3 thing was ultimately about the time I stopped downloading (Thank you amazon) love ya =P
Just have to start bringing down the hammer somehow (bad idea) or finding ways to keep media more secure (much better IMO)

Storyline: After retaking moscow, the ghosts continue to conduct reconnaissance and find a rogue general still commanding hundreds of Russian elite soldiers and ultra nationalists. Through hit and run tactics the ghosts are supposed to disable the organization and render it dead. What they discover will put their abilities to the test and show the rest of the world what it takes to be a GHOST.

I think its kind of funny. Considering Apple still gets hacked. Linux base can still be hacked. Why hate on windows? If anything I say its just blown out of proportion, google being a new player in the OS world it only makes since to stop supporting the competition.
Anyways, Android runs on linux base and is virus prone already. GOOGLE MADE IT for christ sake. Id know since I had to deal with it. On the flip side im using that same "smart phone" smarter now. Even access websites like this on my laptop using it.
None the less I still use my droid, google, googlemaps, and now switched to Chome browser aswell. I like their style hope the article was just out of proportion and all that windows sucks stuff was just the lowman on the payroll making comments.
oh and by the way, Bluetooth by itself has a cool little hack that you cant stop. Hope you like all your conversations being heard.

FRs (fire retardant ACUs) lasted exactly 2days on the fob before they were turned yellow. I took a brand new pair in the morning, a helicopter ride, kia ceromony later they looked exactly like my others I wore all summer.
They did work a few times in some rocky terrain but overall they sucked pretty bad.
Rangers would wear multicam quiet a lot. SF seemed to stay in marine desert digi camo... well sorta they wear whatever they want usually.
As far as multicams go. Being issued in afghan then iraq then basic training then I might get a pair. Either way pretty sure multicam was the clear winner first time. Its a good testimate to its design to see it come back years later and off the nasty ACUs

Seems like yesterday me and marcinko were only worried about modding. Although granted i still think. About just making a very sick [GR] mod.
@ruin, Called in arty or mortars? Lol our guys trusted our indirect a lot. The bat wanted to test our reaction times one day on the fob so they had a squad called it up... immidiate surpression.. yelling and popping off rounds... danger close.
Well it was actually danger close lol... 120s under 400meters, id rather be at the tube lol.
Never fired at baddies from the fob though so we got excited that day, was a bad joke lol.

Lol ... 60mm and me is the GR equivelant of oicw spam. Id love to be in a ranger bat humping one and laying down some hot rounds.
I like the 60 though, if all my fire for effect rounds land in the back of a pickup truck at 1250 meters id say im pretty good at direct lay too.

Never took a shot that close in afghan firefights at distance are weird. Have no idea where their rounds are going. Id say they never tried distant shots though unless they were trying to ambush. everything was 100-200meters.
Im just a mortarman though lol... getting spray and pray from them ill still be on the cannon.

CIB (Combat Infantryman Badge)
ARCOM (army commendation medal)
Drivers badge??? something about driving a lot.
Had a chance to get the V device on the ARCOM but me and the other guy told the Platoon leader we didnt want it. Nothing I dunno maybe its just me but theres nothing valor about it. I signed up to do this crap, not get medals.
In other news the SSG. in control of my butt was awarded a bronze star.

thats the thing ruin, we are on one of the biggest fobs in country. Building a new runway for C17s right now but we rarely got chances to just live here.
every few days we would be back out on week to two week long missions. The 509th and other parts of the 501st have some crappy living conditions but everything we have we built. Gave us 4 empty connexes, tons of wood and POWER TOOLS!
pretty much made what we wanted with 2 guys per connex... got some AC/heater units made doors, insulated them, ran our own wiring.
Its not to bad havent been out in the last 2 months and I gotta admit getting cabin fever on the fob now.

A lot sure does change. In total since I have been deployed I've literally lived outside the wire for almost a total of 4 maybe 5 months. I kind of lost track. Have dug up unmarked graves while filling sandbags, listened to Taliban pray to god while dropping mortars on them. Lost 5 good men I knew personally. 2 in my platoon alone. Been shot at plenty of times and rocketed aswell. Our convoys have hit countless IEDs and last but not least blew up a mosque that the enemy was using as a safe house.
It is an eye opener and PARA I remember a while back you saying you would want to join for the brother hood feeling. It is an unrivaled experience and I've never been more honored then to say I have served with the ones that pay the ultimate sacrifice.
The worst pain i've had from all of this. My girlfriend dumping me while I was 3 months into it. No lie broken hearts is the worse.
Yet some how I can still crack a smile. Some photos for you all.

Last but not least. Was out on the mission when that ###### decided to desert his post. Since then he has betrayed everyone. He got a wife and a house out of the deal. Pretty sure he is Muslim now too.
No sympathy from anyone he was with!

I will supposibly have some good down time here coming up later this year. Since my laptop can pretty much run only games like Rainbow Six 3 and Ghost Recon... I got a crazy idea....
Since my 3D work has far advanced pass GRs required level of detail... designing a mod Ive always dreamed of would be cake to me now.
So should I?
I'll just need the tools again.

I dont think so. I get adrenaline highs pretty bad jumping from planes, This was different to me. Never been so focused in my life.

Got into a decent firefight for the first time though. All the badge chasers in my platoon with no CIB are ###### I earned my CIB before them. Not to mention In actual contact not shooting mortars out of a FOB.
Rounds were a little to close lol.
something kind of odd about it though, I liked it. So im bouncing the idea around hard right now, Selection and Q course....

Trust me there isn't a day that goes by I don't think about that.
Even worse, we got a couple legs tossed into our platoon because there isn't enough airborne qualified 11 Chucks. Garbage all of them!
