speaking of which.....
I know it's someplace in the Forums buried deep and I cant pinpoint it but...(and this question does keep to the topic..you'll see) but what's a good program to view and edit GR replays? Reason being is alot of people want to know so they can make Intros right? Well, Doc and I got this wild idea and are wanting to make GR music videos...like a damn good assult done to Static X's "Push It".. etc.

or you could fire off a couple of shots, take cover, watch the map and then toss a grenade into the crowd. If they cluster up, multiple kills with one fun toy.
Also in a sit like that remember "shoot and scoot". Usually when I play an elite solo mission, I'll pop off 3 shots and then move quickly and far enough away from my last position where I wont be detected but can pick off whoever goes there to look for me.
mobility is a solider's buddy.

Ok...so does anyone know or would hazard a guess as to when reputable sruplus companies (like US Cavalry, Brigade Quartermaster, etc...) are going to get these??? Seems I'm moving to Texas in a few months and at least the pants (or shirt...or all of it really!) would be nice to have down there for paintball, airsoft, impressing the hell out of people...

well joking aside....there's this show on Tech TV called Spy School (worth watching btw..). One of the hosts is a former MI6 member and he had the other two hosts go around London as "tourists" with a hand held vid camera....
...and they got alot of good shots of MI5 and MI6 HQs, some MI6 Introdoctrination place, the old Soviet Embassy (and the new one is across the street), some safe house the KGB used and is rumored to still use, and a slew of other things. Only got approaced by security like 2 times (but not on the Soviet areas...but they shot and scooted due to safe paranoia). So if it's that easy to gather some intel (which they had shots right into buildings) it makes you wonder what's been seen and taped..as well as what else has bad security as well.

all the UK has to do is to threaten to use the Royal Black Watch and Scottish WMDs (ie haggis). Problem solved.

note : being of Scottish decent, I am at least allowed to make some fun of my ancestery to include haggis...besides, the Scots would kick axe..just have them play the Al Quaddia (or however it's spelled this week) in soccar....and loose.
Soccer riot!
...and I am joking around. I have much respect for the people of the UK and her terrorties and islands and umm....whatever else the Queen lays claim to...*checks to see if rear is covered on that one*

funny thing is, that picture reminded me of an interview on 60 Minutes with Richard Marchinko. He said he and his "security specialists" (per orders by the DoD) were tesing the security of a base. They waltzed in through the front gate, headed for the gym walked in and asked "Umm...who's in charge here?" Some Captian pointed himself out and the guys asked him to come outside for a minute. Short story...Marchinko got reamed for leaving the O-3 in his office, in his boxers, duct taped and every thing removed.
I dunno..gimme the grizzled old war vet Sergant anyday..

hehe...had to save that page for "disruptive" members over at another forum I'm a mod at...heh heh heh (ie "complaints? go here" link)
-
Ok, dont have a picture, but considering how good the MODs are here, I'm sure you'll imagine this with a good description...
so this customer comes in last night with a pewter pin that's a rifle. Seems some company every year has a convention and gives out (for free) pewter pins based on RL militart weapons... the Barret, Mp-5, etc..
well this pin, he couldnt remember what it was but it looked like this...
take a SA-80 and mate it with a SOCOM M-4 with a nice silencer.
Roughly, a bullpup AR with scope, M-16A2 type foregrips, and a silencer that would be roughly the lenght of the M-16 bolt.
Any clues as to what it is????

ok, those cammies look fragging sweet

well...if you really, *really* want to talk about special forces "ever"....
...and I'm surprised the Brits here forget these guys...
the Fianna.
Earliest form of SF in history. Warrior poets of the Celts. Their initiation was far more severe than the best of the modern best's training. Besides the 20 epic poems (think Illyad verbatum) they had to learn, there was the physical aspect. As celts, they of course in their early years, would have to go into their first battle buck naked with woad on and no weapon...and survive. Fianna initiation consisted of :
a. being buried to your chest in a hole in the ground, when you then, armed with only a birch branch, had to fend off 20 people tossing spears at you
b. be chased across a course by someone who is initially an arm's lenght away and not get touched, While running and evading, the initiate had to also :
1. jump a ditch the span of their height
2. go under, at a full run, a log set at the height of their knees
3. remove a bramble from their foot while at a dead run
ok, that sounds pretty impressive to me and of course, they were the Billy Bad-######es of the Celt world.
other than that....
I'd have to say South Korea probably has a good SF team (if they do) seeing as their normal army recruits keep training even when they have broken bones. Maybe the Isrealies....
Though I hear....the Fiji-ian SF are the best overall..they stop armies in their tracks....

How do you survive AT4 blasts at close range?
who said survive???

Hence why when Doc (when we have a LAN get together with other people) sees someone running around with an SVD and an AT4 he goes
waaaayyyyyy over ------------------------------------------------------>>>>there

-
-
how about when you get into a wreck and first word out of the cop's mouth is "Ok, what happened?"
Gee officer..I was driving along when out of nowhere a deer decided to carjack me, so I tried evasive driving tactics and accidently hit the darned beast with my car.

As for the last glitch you mentioned if you are referring to the old hand throught the wall then I do have to agree with you, try syepping back from the wall or just frag the room, ***coughCScough***.
Hey...just because I like to clear rooms out with an AT4 at almost very damn close range doesnt make me psychotic.....
...did I just think that out loud?

-Velvetta Shells and Cheese
-1pkg of cheddar-wursts from the local store (you know...package has about 5-6 sausages in it..cheese filled..) sliced into bit sized pieces (bite sizes vary per grunt)
-1/2 a green bell pepper
dice bell pepper and toss in a frying pan with a bit of butter. Begin to brown.
start cooking shells...
when 1/2 way done browning pepperpieces, add sausage slices, cook.
When shells are done, drain as usual and then check sausages. When sausages are done, add to shells and then add the velvetta cheese. Mix and eat.
Cooking time : about 15 minutes..

GR doesnt need a new patch. The aforementioned "complaints" about "bugs" are really misunderstood examples of realism...like how going prone (vs stnading up facing the enemy and waving a bright orange vest around) makes you a smaller target, etc..
What it does need though is maybe another expansion for the PC and not just a console game....
...unless some really talented mod makers out there are at this very moment converting the "PS2 Only" maps to PC-able....
Great song to replace GR Main Theme
