I'll guarantee you Lockdown is not the PS2 version of Black Arrow. Black Arrow was made by Ubisoft Montreal, and Ubi Shanghai would do the port, not Red Storm. Although I am doubting Ubi will do the PS2 version of Black Arrow ... Ubi has publically stated that Red Storm is working on the PS2 version of Rainbow Six 4.

http://forums.3dretreat.com/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=5670 ComingSoon.net has more information here: The original Splinter Cell designers have admitted they based Sam Fisher's look on George Clooney. Wonder if they have him in mind to star in the movie too

OK, I recently picked up the PC Gamer issue with the DVD. Here is the deal on all versions of Rainbow Six: 1. Rainbow Six Original CD from 1998 - Full install does not require CD to play, does not have support for WinXP obviously 2. Rainbow Six from Tom Clancy's CT Classics game pack - Updated version with WinXP support (basically writes registry entries) and requires CD to play 3. Rainbow Six "free" with PC Gamer - Updated version with WinXP support (basically writes registry entries) and does NOT require CD to play with full install.

When I did a search on the site for presenters by company (Red Storm), it only came up with four, but when I looked at the full list, there are seven there. Thanks for picking that up NYR! Also great find on the R6-4 subtitle I guess they won't be following tradition using the "R.S." initials

Did you try installing the FSW demo? Did that work?

Doh, glad you decided on the 9800. Make sure you get a 256-bit Pro version. Some 3rd party manufacturers sell 128-bit ones which are significantly slower.

Depends what you want your video card to do. If you want to watch TV on your computer, the Radeon 9600 AIW is the best All in Wonder card around, as it has an FM tuner that even the Radeon 9800 AIW lacks. If you want pure 3D power, you will get WAY better bang for your buck buying a Radeon 9800 Pro which is about the same price (!) as a Radeon 9600 XT, and the 9800 Pro is probably on average 30% faster or more depending on the game.

Most optical drives have 2 cables coming out of it: 1) The molex power connector supplies the power 2) The IDE cable transfers data. Some newer optical drives like Plextor's have Serial ATA connectors which have 150 MB/sec transfer rate instead of IDE's now pokey 33 MB/s.

I built one Shuttle system - it was excellent. You have to first decide what are you using a small form factor (SFF) PC for - gaming? PVR? LAN party rig? Best to stick with a lower speed processor (e.g. Pentium 4 2.4 GHz Northwood - do not get a Prescott!) as the faster ones get too hot for the small form factor's cooling system The SFF systems I've seen mainly have an AGP slot for a video card. They use onboard sound, ethernet, firewire etc. so you really don't need other PCI cards. The Shuttle system I built was for a PVR and could fit a Radeon 9200 All-In-Wonder with no probs.

Nope, but you have to give us more system info - what sound card are you using now? What kind of speaker set up do you have? 2 speakers or 5.1 etc? Anyways, just: 1) Uninstall current sound card drivers 2) Disable onboard sound in the BIOS if you have it 3) Stick in the card, don't bother with the CD ROM audio cable as most modern mobos transfer sound digitally through the motherboard 4) Install the drivers for the Audigy from the CD (not included with WinXP as far as I know, not even with SP2) 5) The Audigy drivers install a separate Windows startup sound, so both the Audigy a

We did try to help you. You were asked to check your IDE cable and you said you checked your power cable. I'm sorry to say but I think sometimes the best friendly advice is that you should bring your system to your local computer repair shop.

GameSpot has a short article about Ubisoft's latest financial announcements. Looks like Ghost Recon 2 will likely help Ubi's bottom line this year as it had a strong showing at third-place in November sales for Xbox in the United States. http://www.gamespot.com/gba/action/pandora...ws_6115040.html Someone posted all the NPD data for Nov 2004 console sales: http://totalvideogames.com/forums/showthre...p?threadid=8187 Remember that GR2 was only out for 2 weeks in November.

Who says Ubi doesn't support modding? They even released the source maps http://www.3dgamers.com/news/more/1096480485/

Here's a call out to all you people running GR1 dedicated servers. Besides anti-cheating measures already mentioned I think it would be useful to come up with a detailed list of dedicated server features you would like and add it to the GR2 PC wishlist. I've seen some stuff about features like how to ban/eject troublemakers in this thread, but it hasn't been posted in the wishlist yet

I don't think even Red Storm will know what the min specs for the game will be until close to when the game goes gold. This is when the QA guys run the near final code on various setups to confirm what specs give you a playable frame rate etc. If you are JUST upgrading your machine for GR2, you are better off to wait a few more months. If you want to upgrade for other games before Christmas, then check the specs of the other games first.

Unfortunately, as far as I know, the content of the Making of Ghost Recon CD is still copyrighted material not for public distribution. Making video from the CD available for free download would be illegal. Otherwise, I'm sure all the GR fan sites would have downloads links to the material long ago.

Thanks to everyone for contributing your suggestions so far! I have edited the first post to add one more guideline: Please do your best to read all previous posts and do not to repeat suggestions. I know some people want to repeat things to emphasize a point, but it just clogs up the list. E.g. We all know almost everyone here wants solid mod support out of the box for GR2! Also, thanks to Kurtz, here's a encouraging note by Ubisoft's GR community manager BulletTooth over at the official GR2 PC forums which I think applies to this wishlist at GR.net: http://forums.ubi.com/eve/ubb.x?a=

Can we correctly assume that your F: drive is your CD drive? One of the most common reasons for it not to show up is if either the data or power cable to your optical drive inside your system has come loose. However, before you open your case, check your BIOS when you boot up to see if it detects your optical drive and let us know. I'm not sure if you are familiar with tinkering around inside computers - if you aren't, bring it to a reliable repair shop.

Not sure if many people here remember that when the new official GR2 site launched, there was a quote that said that Darren Chukitus, the Producer of our much beloved original GR1 for PC , will be the Producer for GR2 PC. Hope this fact may help inspire some hope about GR2 PC for some folks around here I have a feeling Robbie Edwards was tapped to be the Producer for GR2 Xbox based on the success of the Xbox version of GR1 and GRIT.

I originally thought we should limit the suggestions by those who haved played GR2 on the Xbox, but I know some people have limited financial resources and can't buy/rent an Xbox just for GR2. So the wishlist thread is open to everyone. Note I didn't say in the guidelines that you had to play the Xbox version. Just try to keep your ideas concise. I also added a new guideline not to repeat other's suggestions as much as possible as we want to keep the list lean and mean. Go ahead an post your ideas - the whole point is that it gives fans an opportunity to list their suggestions whil

Someone posted this fix for the new v66.93 drivers at 3dR http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=36541 Note this problem apparently is only for Unreal 2 games using the new Nvidia drivers on Athlon platforms, not Intel.

Thanks for taking the initiative to start this thread. We were considering pinning it, but decided there was still too much questions and discussion here for devs to have to pick through. So EVERYONE please check the pinned wishlist here and read the first post carefully http://www.ghostrecon.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=22774 Kurtz, I hoped to first PM you about editing your post, but I decided to take a risk and go ahead and do it. I hope you don't feel offended that I took the liberty to edit it and use your post as an example of what I mean. My hope is that people will compare

OK, here's an example of what I mean ... Kurtz has made some great suggestions in his original post here http://www.ghostrecon.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=22756 and I have reposted it here with a few edits that follow our above guidelines 1. I would like to see orders implemented to have more precise control over the squad in GR2 PC. a) The most important improvement would be an "advance to" command instead of "advance". It could be context sensitve or a one button order targeted to a specific location on the ground. The squad would go to that location and wait further orders.

We are going to try a little experiment here ... hope it works Previous GR2 wishlists dealt with what people wanted changed between GR1 to GR2. Now that the GR2 Xbox is out, we are starting a new wishlist to see what people would like to see changed between GR2 Xbox and GR2 PC. Red Storm does monitor fan forums, and has a solid history of implementing fan requests into their games. We want this wishlist to be a one-stop simple and clear list for the devs to read. Please list what changes you would like to see in point form in an objective neutral manner. Note that this thread is NO
