That is amazing, as I've been trying figure out where he is for about an hour or so now. LOL, yes that camo is amazing!

Thanks for the reply Roco. Thought it was just me. I was wondering what's going on as this was a pretty fresh Vista installation Actually, I did get it to unsuccessfully install finally - I clicked on "Cancel" and Vista said "this program did not uninstall successfully" and gave me the option to try again or give up. When I clicked try again Vista successfully uninstalled it

Thanks for the thorough and detailed review HF! I've never met anyone who's owned one of these, and when I first heard about them they sounded like they would be another triumph of industrial design. I'm not sure how true it is, but Wikipedia says OQO was founded by the creators of the 'TiBook' Powerbook G4 after Apple refused to let them develop a Model 1-like mobile Macintosh, prompting much of OQO's original staff to leave Apple and found OQO. Batteries are the bane of any laptop - I've only seen one laptop where the battery still held a decent charge after one year.

Well, I know this forum is for tech support installing GRAW 2, but what if I have a problem uninstalling it? I wanted to uninstall the GRAW 2 Demo from my Vista rig and it kept hanging halfway through. I checked the task manager and it says the uninstall is running, takes about 50% of my CPU resources, but for 15 minutes didn't budge. That's crazy. Just wondering if anyone else had the problem? I wonder if it's a Vista prob or the uninstall program for GRAW 2? BTW, I didn't have as much trouble uninstalling the PhysX driver which took about 10 seconds

Wow, nice vid. How long ago was your Pop stationed at Langley?

Wow, you got an OQO? I'd love to hear your impressions about this Ultra/subnotebook PC platform (speed, ease of use, etc.)

Here's a good FAQ about where things stand now HD DVD Vs Blu-Ray http://news.zdnet.com/2100-9584_22-6229262.html

http://www.bungie.net/News/content.aspx?ty...s&cid=13219 Bungie pulls no punches on interviewing their own new hires. Sounds like a real cool place to work Ser gives some nice inside info on his work on the GR franchise during his time at RSE.

Yeah, Guitar Hero and Rock Band are really fun. I know some folks that already have repetitive strain injuries in their wrists/forearms from playing drums 3hrs straight everyday ...

I find it quite interesting that the co-op campaign features a new story on old maps. According the the press release: I won't be downloading this DLC right away, so just want to ask those that are playing it if the maps are pretty much exact re-creations of the classic maps (e.g. does Caves have coniferous trees or tropical ones?) and if the campaign objectives are similar to the ones from GR1/IT?

A few more interesting articles. Note that the Falcon design only shrinks the CPU to 65nm. Just makes me wonder why MS is taking so much time to shring the GPU to 65nm Microsoft Insider: Xbox 360 Team Knowingly Launched Faulty Hardware http://www.dailytech.com/Microsoft+Insider...rticle10434.htm About the next iteration of the 360: http://www.dailytech.com/Report+Xbox+360+J...article9248.htm

The new 65nm "Falcon" Xbox CPU is out since the Halo 3 Special Edition 360's hit the market. Read here how to identify if a 360 has one of the new CPUs inside: http://www.anandtech.com/gadgets/showdoc.aspx?i=3152&p=3

Thanks for the link. Someone posted about this GameSpot contributers blog which had this interesting snippet http://www.gamespot.com/users/mosaic/show_...=m-100-25273350 @Krise: Had to look up "schadenfreude" - that's going to be my word of the day today! I kinda thought the article might end up like that, but I think the 1Up writer seems to sympathize and support the editorial staff at GameSpot

Don't know how many of you been following the drama of the downfall of a once respectable GameSpot, but here's a good summary at 1Up about what goes down behind the reviews of games and how game publishers/ads influence the scores ... http://www.1up.com/do/blogEntry?bId=858782...cUserId=4561231

Good points HF. I too am doubting how legit the article is since none of the other major electronics news outlets has reported anything similar to this. Thanks for the info about the Blu-ray group - I did a bit more reading about the Blu-ray association and it's reassuring that other companies like Apple, TDK, Panasonic, HP are helping to guide the standard. Like WK said about the rootkits, some of Sony's methods in the past have left a bad taste. It seems other initial promising benefits of HD-DVD like no region codes, backwards compatiblity etc have all been mitigated by Blu-ray Anothe

Nope, there's no adapter that I've heard of There was a "bridge" chip that was developed which could be sodered onto the board that ATI (I believe) used to change PCI-E back to AGP, but that's the closest thing

Nice analysis. I played a bit of GRAW 1 on Live when it first came out, but I didn't renew my Xbox Live account all of last year so just played some GRAW 2 SP so no idea what the Live experience was like. Thanks for the insight!

Hey Kimi, thanks for the follow-up! We appreciate you and other devs posting updates, even if there's no ETA. Actually, I think most folks here are excited whenever any devs stop by to just shoot the breeze on whatever topic

http://www.majornelson.com/archive/2008/01...es-of-2007.aspx Any hypotheses why GRAW 2 isn't in there this year after a strong showing in 2006 (#4)? http://www.majornelson.com/archive/2006/12...live-games.aspx

Well, after a more (than usual) stress-filled day at work, I followed Ser's recommendation and rented The Kingdom after work. It's a solid movie worth a viewing. I was pleasantly surprised too because it has a bit more depth than the usual Hollywood action flick. I thought the two actors portraying the main Saudi police characters did a great job Not surprising it was "Michael Mannish" since he's one of the producers. although Peter Berg was Director. It was also amzing how they created a Saudi street scene in the middle of Arizona ... Cool to see the snippet of GRAW I wonder if the

Possible inside story why Warner went with Blu-Ray: http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/08012/848675-96.stm Personally, I was hoping that HD-DVD would win - just don't like the idea of one company (Sony) calling the shots. The writer had this to say too:

Great job GWDS! Great example to see how the SOAF transfer-over script is built-in to the mod itself.

I don't know anyone who has experience with the ATI Radeon HD 2xxx range yet. I'm running a X1950 myself, but the 2xxx series is a new architecture. In fact, ATI just released the Radeon HD 3xxx refresh (essentially 2xxx architecture shrunk down in size with DX 10.1 support) so if you get an ATI, look at the to see if you can find the "budget" HD 3850 around. As of this point in time, I'm recommending most people get an Nvidia 8xxx gen card as they are solid performers at a good price, and are well supported by almost everything out there. If you can wait a month, Nvidia's 9600GT sh

So which one do you have your eye on? Anyways, I like how the charts have framerates for 20-27" widescreen LCD monitors.

Played the SP demo twice now Waiting for more time to free up for me to buy and play the full version ... or perhaps pick it up when its bundled with the inevitable expansion pack
