The answer to your question will lie in the political side of that equation. Vietnam is considered by many to be a war where it was a military victory but a political defeat. In all my readings and studies about the war is that is the general conclusion. You figure that the US, by all accounts, won every major battle fought with the NVA. @Xian Saint I was just looking at one of the pics again and noticed what looked like the frame for a watertight door. Is that a point of access to the sonar array? The area I am talking about looks to be about midships on the upper deck area. Stout Hearts Warhawk

@WK I would imagine, and I'm sure once Dilligas or Xian Saint see this they will clarify if they can, that there was probably something in the way of compartments there if for nothing else than granting access to the sonar array for maintenance and repair. I doubt very much that if there are compartments in that area that they are "manned". Otherwise, due to the obvious damage, there would have been more fatalities. Stout Hearts Warhawk

Forgive me for my ignorance but are there no compartments that far forward on a boat? I'm seeing alot of, obviously, internal bulkhead damage but what strikes me is there's nothing there to suggest the presence of any real compartments. If there are then that only goes to serve as another indication of the amount of force that occured at impact. Stout Hearts Warhawk

@AUS_Viper Very good post indeed. I have been saying this sort of thing, only not as well as you just did, for a couple of years now. Except in my case it was about Ghost Recon and not only covered mission scripting but "realistic weapons" in an unrealistic enviroment. Good points one and all. Stout Hearts Warhawk

And don't forget too that in at least one case an add on pack sold by CTCorp and another by BIA could be incompatible. In this specific case I am thinking of the Marine Pack, which if memory serves me correctly could be a moot point anyway. Stout Hearts Warhawk

I'm going to tread very lightly here, which I am sure will cause some people's jaw to drop. @WK I have been saying all along if those looking for more "realism" actually got what they were asking for they wouldn't play it because it was too real. They would be getting killed quickly and blaming it on things like "AI's magic bullets". The biggest problem I see here is not so much problems with the game per se, some will disagree with that can't help it, and more of a PR issue. Stout Hearts Warhawk
