  1. I have been playing the heck out of the Industrial Map by Rawker and have heard/read about the "secret room" that exists there. But I can't seem to find my way in to the damn thing. And I have been over every inch of that sucker. Can someone tell me how to get in there?
  2. I am trying to download the Industrial v1.1 map but every time I try to download this (or any other) file, I keep getting a stupid screen that just tells me the following... When I do this from my work computer, I have no problems? Is it an XP thing or what? Frustrated. [Admin Edit: Duplicate topic merged]
  3. I keep trying to get [Frostbite v1.3]patch and the link always takes me to a page with the following info on it.... ***************************** IGN Downloads Turbo users With the IGN/GameSpy merger, your Downloads Turbo account has been automatically transitioned to a FilePlanet subscription. Any advice? And what does the patch fix? Do I absolutely need it? Thanks.
  4. I am basically "played out" on the main maps from GR, IT, and DS. Between the main campaigns, mods, and multiplayer gametime, I am desparate for new maps! Can anyone recommend a spot where I can download some custom maps? Doesn't even need to have missions! I am mainly interested in them for multiplayer games with friends. Also, PLEASE dont recommend map packs that overwrite my original maps. The last time I tried a map pack (a scuba stever pack) it overwrote all my original maps without asking me first! I had to do a complete reinstall to get going again and I lost my campaign. Thanks.
  5. Thanks for the reply. So in order to let her into our game, If I host it on my system as a LAN Game, then all she needs is our IP? On her end, would she Choose Internet, as opposed to LAN, on her multiplayer menu, then add our IP to see the game? And all I need to do is the standard port forwarding on our Netgear router?
  6. Question. I play in a regular LAN game after hours at work and now I have a friend who wants in. Trouble is, she's remote and at home. Is it possible to let someone into a LAN from an exteral site so they can play? And if not, is it possible for all of us who are on the same office network, to play together on an online game or will there be problems with people using the same external IP? Thanks for any help.
  7. Is this a pack with NEW maps? Or just modified versions of the same maps? Because I have been looking for a new set of Maps to play Multiplayer on with friends but all the mods seem to use the same maps. And the last time I downloaded a map pack it overwrote my original maps and I had to do a full reinstall. Now all my specialists are locked again!
  8. Is it just me or is anyone else having a problem completing mission two? I have cleared the vessel, cleared the docks of militia, and I have all my men practically inside the Helo but the mission wont end? What gives? How much "Linking" do I need to do with 2RAR? Arent I in the right place?
  9. Two questions. One, when I give my external IP to my friends so they can play, where do they put it in to access my game? Usually when I connect to a game, I just click the room name from the lobby and hit joing game. I never see any windows to type in an IP. Is there a different process that I am not aware of for port forwarded games? And Two, if I go to UBI .com and click "create room" and then "start game" that means I am hosting it right? My computer is the server? In this case I am NOT using a ubi server, right? Sorry for all the stupid questions but this is all VERY confusing to someone who has never even played online before this, much less tryed to configure a setup like this.
  10. Ok, I asked a similar question earlier but have failed to get this to work so I am hoping someone can give me more detailed information on how to make my system available to play online games. Right now, when I create a room, anyone trying to join just gets stuck on the "connecting" screen. They never get in. I am running Windows XP and have a Speedstreem DSL Modem. I am running a Netgear MR814v2 Wireless Router, so my internal IP is different from my external one. The router has no firewall but I am running ZoneAlarm Pro software firewall. ZoneAlarm software version 3.7.098 with "Gateway enforcement" enabled (whatever that means). Someone please help me out with some detailed information on how to set it up properly and how my friends can join. Earlier I was told to do the "port forwarding" thing but obviously I am doing something wrong because it aint working. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
  11. I downloaded and installed a Scuba Steve Map Pack for Ghost recon and now when I am in Multiplayer and I choose Mission game style, I can only see his maps! All my other mission maps are gone. How do I get them back? There is no MOD that I can see that needs deactivation. I am about to host a lan game and this is screwing me.
  12. I was recently given advice to allow people to connect to my online games despite my firewall. I.E. port forwarding. I want to try this method but was concerned. If the funtion of my firewall is to keep hackers and other malicious types from being able to probe and use my ports, then wont forwarding those ports leave me open to invasion? I mean, if it's common knowledge that GR uses specific ports, then isn't that asking for trouble? Or maybe I am a ###### and completely wrong. Somebody enlighten me, please.
  13. I am brand new to this forum and relatively new to multiplayer ghost recon and I need to figure something out. Every time I play a LAN game, and I create the game for others to join, I have no problems. And I can join other peoples internet games just fine. However, when I create a game online and try to get someone else to join it, they can never get in. I am bright enough to figure out that it has something to do with my firewall, but unfortunately I am not "net saavy" enough to know how to fix it. I don't want to disable the firewall completely and leave myself vulnerable, but I know nothing about Ports, or port forwarding, or even what my IP address is. As far as I know, my IP is dynamic and always different. Any advice would be helpful, especially the advice written for non-saavy newbies like my self. In other words, plain english would be appreciated. Love the forum and site, Demo Joe
