  1. With the amount of threads you have started in the PC forum that have the words 360 in the title I would swear you were trying to sell it to the PC crowd? Do you work for Microsoft or something??? :P

You know, I was thinking exactly the same thing, it seems almost every other thread starts moving over to the console version one way or another. I might as well start frequenting the Console forum ;)

  2. That would imply that Bo would be obligated to read the topic and spend time trying to answer a HUGE list of questions.

Personally I think we should leave the guy alone and just be thankful that he finds some topics worth reading and replying to.

Personally if I went on a site that I was just a member of, the LAST thread I would look at was a list of questions for me to answer ;)

  3. I'll just toss my two pence worth in to add further weight to the sentiment (as if it needed it), but 4 player coop on GRAW PC means I'll still be playing GR1 when I am online, for the most part.

I mean, if it's only four of us in at a time, who to leave out?

Zero Alpha? Can't leave him, he's the only one with the bottle to lead a mission.

Cobblers? Can't leave him incase we need some cow tipping expertese.

Havok? Can't leave him, he's our top sniper spotter *cough*

Colin? Can't leave him, or else Deanne won't play

Deaane? Can't leave her (see Colin above)

NYR? Can't leave him, he's usually the last man standing!

Jay? Can't leave him out - you always need a modder along!

T1? Can't leave him out, he brings the buckfast!

Rhys? Can't leave Rhys out, we need a welshman for the victory songs!

etc etc with the rest of the squad.....

*praying for a last minute coop repreve*

So are you saying you WOULD like to leave me behind?

I really don't mind the 4 player co-op. That is just what I am use to though. I don't mind them expanding the co-op number either, just dont push the date back because of it.

I disagree I'm afraid m8. Like other gameplay issues are with other people I would be willing to wait if they could increase the number of Co-op players, it's that important an issue to some of us.

  4. @ Tortfeaser - I would expect you to disagree tbh no matter how respectfully, tbh it's your glorification post that got me more than any other.

    :yes::ph34r:

well, please accept my apology if I said something the wrong way, but I did not intend to glorify death - it makes me sad and disturbed. My description was factually accurate, not intended to glorify death.

let me add one thing: as a soldier you come to love your fellow soldiers like brothers, I can't describe it any other way, and hopefully former soldiers here may agree. When a brother is taken from you by the enemy, it changes the way you see the enemy's death.

and if you ever, as a commander at any level, have to tell his mom the circumstances of his passing, you will see the enemy's death a different way. each one is like a piece of candy.

so sorry, and I will try to remember others see this differently than I do.

I agree with your sentiment wholeheartedly and the loss of a brother is a wound like no other and can change your outlook on many things. My point though is that this is a game, and as such doesn't need the 'Added' touches that make life, and war so horrifying. Nor does it need the 'Hollywood' gorefest that some games seem to employ.

Personally I think GR1 had it about right, you got the satisfaction of the kill, a good (for the time) range of death animations and a nice pool of blood as evidence of your work.

I wanna make this clear, I love horror films (the gorier the better), I have seen enough blood in real life to make me appreciate how precious it is, so I'm no prude. I just felt that this thread was a little bit off base and needed reigning in a bit.

On the subject of Ragdoll physics, someone said something earlier I agree with. I hope GRIN have toned it down as I would prefer the old pre written animations than the stupid looking ones you get with some games where you have bodies folded backwards, wierd twitching and general funniness you see ;)

  5. @ Silent_op - GR1 level is fine, even a bit more would be acceptable though not needed in my opinion.

@ Tortfeaser - I would expect you to disagree tbh no matter how respectfully, tbh it's your glorification post that got me more than any other.

you ask what is real? I would like to see a lungshot to cause the target to spew a pink spray of blood with every breath, and make a wheezing sound since he didn't have enough air across his vocal cords to scream. So along those lines will be fine.

as far as death animation, what you really see is people grabbing what they think was hit, sometimes even the target can't tell right away and they have to look for blood. The only other animation you'd see is the target crawling away to perceived cover. this is where you can re-engage and terminate the target.

  6. First off I actually find this thread kind of offensive. GR:AW is a GAME and some people in here actually worry me with their attitude, it's no wonder the press are kicking up about games and violent behavior.

    Let me ask you this.

    Have you ever been shot?

Have you ever been near someone who has?

Or had to deal with a Truama victim of any sort?

If you had you would drop the immature "I wanna see realistic death animations" crap. Your right, war is not pretty and it is brutal but I will remind you of one thing.

This is a GAME, not WAR. Pray you never have to see it for real.

Sorry for the rant but tbh I expect a bit more from GRNET than this sorta crap :(

  7. Ok, i'm not to big to admit I was wrong on this point (that's what you get for not looking at the console forum).

So if you can play 16 people against the AI in Mission mode And 16 people against the AI on 3 other modes then I will state now, for the record.

I will NOT buy GR:AW if the PC version ends up only allowing 4 player Co-op.

  8. Confused again, I thought coop was up to 16.

16 player coop is for 360.

Wait, when was that announced? I thought it was still 4 there.

16 player co-op on Xbox 360 has been known for a while... read any of the co-op previews. I'm not sure about the PC version though, everything is still largely in the dark from what I know.

I give up... I truely do :wall:

yep, we know what we dont know!

can we keep this on track?

(by on track i mean opinions about the key issues or answers greatfully received from those  who do know)

It's not that m8. Just how many times... and way's do I have to explain what WE mean by CO-OP?

16 player... even on the 360 is TEAM V TEAM !!!!!!!!!

  9. Confused again, I thought coop was up to 16.

  10. I heard in the xbox360 video that the whole fighting system is very smooth, obviously when using the 360 controller, we'll have to read up on what owners of the 360 and GR:AW have to say.

Smooth is not my point though m8, I have an Xbox and every FPS game I have played including GR2 suffers from this. It isn't bad programming it's purely a limit of the controller, you CANNOT (and anyone who disagrees needs serious therapy) be as accurate, as quickly as a mouse.

  11. Confused again, I thought coop was up to 16.

    TVT Yes

We are talking COOP Against AI in a mission or FF

You have four. No more, that was stated last year.

It was stated last year your right Colin, but quite a lot has changed since then so unless you have some definative knowledge you can confirm then my question still stands as it has been edged around in the dev chats and confused constantly with MP in general.

Personally I would like a definate answer because tbh if 4 player IS the max for Co-op then GR:AW will only ever be something I play casually and my main focus for Co-op Teamplay will move to games that allow me to play with a PROPER amount of squadmates.

  12. This one's aimed at Bo.

Great job in placating the screaming masses my friend, your few well selected sentences were all we really needed. As mature gamers we don't appreciate the 'Mushroom' treatment, most of us get enough of that at work every day ;)

Anyway on to more important things.

CO-OP - Any news regarding how many players we can expect? Is it still only 4?

Now before we get people jumping in here and quoting all sorts of figures I will explain what I mean when I say Co-op.

X amount of Human players on a server, on the SAME team playing missions/Firefights/Defend against the AI.

Simple as that, that's what most of us at GRNET play every night and a limit of 4 people is gonna cause REAL problems tbh.

Come on Bo, quote me happy ;)

  13. And only one thing determines whether or not I get to make that judgement and that's if the game gets released or not.

Spot on, ArmA, if and when it comes out might be crap, who knows.

All the people saying they won't buy GR:AW if it comes out are just having a knee jerk reaction to the bad news i'm sure. TBH I'll walk into GAME and if it's on the shelf and nothing more interesting is around I'll buy it. If a demo comes out I'll download it and try it.

What I won't do is pin all my hopes on a game from a company that has UBI's track record, basically I'll play any game that comes out and looks interesting. Just cos it's got GR in the title won't make it GR.
