Where is the COOP fun factor with GRAW?

Good post, mirrors my own feelings. -
The 4 slot Co-op limit needs sorting
Dai-San replied to Dai-San's topic in GR:AW (PC) - General Discussion
Personally, and again this is for Co-op play I would rather just insert on the ground and ready to go. Helo etc inserts are fine (once) but having to do them again, and again, and again with no option to skip em I can (and would rather) live without. -
The 4 slot Co-op limit needs sorting

@ Born, Listen man we have a misunderstanding. What you are talking about is NOT the widely accepted description of Co-op Co-op - A Team of Human players fighting against Computer controlled AI in Mission/Firefight/Defend games. What you appear to be describing is PvP or TvT and as such there are a whole different set of Bandwidth and Resource issues. -
The 4 slot Co-op limit needs sorting

Running a 9 man server on any normal Co-op mission is no way a problem unless you start using HX 85 or more opponents. And if the co-op limit in GR:AW was just an XML file change then considering the XML file structure has already been ripped apart by some people don't you think it would have been posted up already? I'm not saying it can't be increased but it's more than just the one easy change in an XML file I suspect and in the meantime we are stuck with this half way house. I was actually quite a supporter of this game before release and even gave it the benefit of the doubt after -
Ok, getting beyond a joke now. On the VIP2 Extract mission the above bug again appeared just after the huge explosion but thankfully cleared pretty quickly. But now, on the bunker mission it's back right from the word go and so far hasn't gone which makes the mission practically impossible. I know of one other person in our squad thats had it but anyone else displaying this bug?

The 4 slot Co-op limit needs sorting

Thats utter bull, almost every one of our members can, and have, on a regular basis run [GR] servers using their standard home DSL and it was MORE than playable. Get your facts right before posting please. And to make out it was set as a restriction for the average home user because of their connection is rubbish. I MIGHT understand that if there was a direct IP server option as in [GR] but seeing as their isn't how can that be a valid excuse. -
This 4 man Co-op ###### needs sorting ASAP, already my worst fear is happening. Any night on our TS you could join up and jump on a game, join the server and have a quick blast with some others. Not now, already there's little rooms with 4 people in and always someone left hanging around waiting for a slot or some others to join so they can make yet another 4. This is bull. If I'm lucky enough to be playing then I feel bad for anyone left out. If I'm the one left out then I feel bad cos I can't play. This is utter Bull, we downgraded from 9 players to 4 after 5 years of waiting (th

StarFarce was dropped thank god but I think it still uses secureRom.

Just had this happen, moving alone as normal then suddenly this appeared in the middle of my Reticule. Makes aiming a bit of a biatch, mebbe I was doing too well It stays when zoomed in too. Happens whenever I get anywhere near the Car Park and continues until the mission ends. Wierd

GRAW Pegging my AMD CPU, Therefore no TS2, Ideas?
Dai-San replied to TritonBill's topic in GR:AW (PC) - Tech Support
I think you will find it IS soundcard related. Basically I was helping a friend yesterday and he had exactly the same problem, really choppy TS. I noticed that the only two options he had under sound renderer were Generic Hardware and Generic Software. Mine actually lists my soundcard (SB Audigy 4) I got him to update his drivers from the creative site, rebooted the game and he had his soundcard listed (SB Audigy 2). No choppy TS, cured. This seems to be quite a common problem for some reason, basically you SHOULD see your soundcard listed in-game in the sound options. -
Any way to patch the game and add AA?
Dai-San replied to HighGround's topic in GR:AW (PC) - General Discussion
Can we please put this old chesnut to bed. It has been talked to death and using the search will bring up all the info anyone could wish for. -
I'm not seeing GR:AW on there m8, just BF2 etc ?

UNDER Cover DEEP UNDER Cover

Leave an application (TS etc) open on your desktop and Alt-Tab will work fine.

So let me get this right, The developers state that the game will only play at high texture quality with a 512mb card... The game itself limits the texture quality to Medium unless you have a 512mb card... Yet you STILL don't believe em. Is this because even though they wrote all the code they just said that for the hell of it to screw YOU in particular over or maybe because the game actually loads MORE THAN 256mb of texture to the graphics cards memory if HIGH detail is selected. You obviously think the former

Ok, this appears to be quite a common problem. It seems to exaggerated when the person hosting Hamachi is also trying to host the server (this is just from trial and error between us). I use a program called DU Meter which gives a graph of upload and download usage in real time. What I found today was that when connected to a friends Hamachi network, he tried hosting a GR:AW server and we connected fine. When he got to the loadout screen the other 3 of us just sat at the black screen for ages, finally we pressed escape and quit the server. He closed the server down and we tried puzzli

There was a huge thread a while ago about RAGDOLL Physics and death animations and i'm sure it was stated by a dev that the silly death poses and positions would not be a factor in GR:AW. I beg to differ. The Horizontal Tango? Shall we Dance

Will GR:AW stop you playing GR1?
Dai-San replied to mcbeaty's topic in GR:AW (PC) - General Discussion
Nope, even with the aging graphics GR still has that 'Engaged' feeling, like it's real, when you get a kill you feel like 'YOU' got a kill. I'm quite unimpressed by the GR:AW demo atm, even when the enemy is just across the road you don't get that "Ohhh ######" feeling, it just doesn't grab me. Hopefully it will grow on me -
It's not on FP yet m8 ← thats what I figured. I guess the other guy that said he is d/l from Fileplanet is going to get a funny suprise when GR1 pops up. lol ← We were just saying that on TS

It's not on FP yet m8

580mb apparently
-
Thank god for that cos I was getting one REALLY bad case of jealousy
-
Exactly. Hamachi is the shizzle ← This guy is one lucky dude to have a connection that big, and 4 decent spec machines too because I may be wrong (I often am) but all HAMACHI is is IP tunnelling software, using VPN. Now that would still mean he would have to have the GR:AW Demo running on a PC and then let you join by VPN'ing in via HAMACHI and effectively joining his LAN. Now we have already been told that to run a GR:AW server effectively we will need a 512mb (upload) connection. So to run 4 GR:AW servers he would have to have a very good upload speed, not to mention having

Moaning about the demo would be normal, but I expect it will happen regardless. As long as members can try and do it in constructive manner, it will be good for the future. ← As you know I fully expect the moaning to start in earnest about the demo AND the full release, but I was hoping it would wait until we had at least tried it, not start comparing it to LD before it's even up for download
-
Lol, damned if they do, damned if they don't This is a demo, by definition it is not a full or finished representation of the game. Hell they could have just left it and made us buy the retail to find out if we liked it or not. But no, people have to start whining about this or that may or may not be included
