  1. No they don't play on any ladders, they say that the ladders are full of cheaters. I think Roco is going to try and handle it diplomatically, but I don't think that its going to work. The guy is on a power trip because he owns the server and pretty much can do what he wants. If you don't want to deal with it, don't come around. It's really a shame because they have a great server to play on, and some great guys playing over there, both IRA and non IRA. What really ###### me off, is that AFZ is known, at least to those who know us, for being straight up, no cheating, no excuses. You whip our ##### and we say good game, and plenty of teams/clans out there respect us for that. Now to have some guy to call one of us on the carpet and not be willing to prove it is a bunch of crap.

  2. Thanks for the input Ruin, you and I think a lot alike. This is my version of "going public" until I get a feel for how the bulk of the GR community feels about the situation. There never was really any affiliation, they just had a busy server that we enjoyed playing on, and like I said, for the most part they were decent guys. I guess I will see what the rest of the responses here sound like and pass on any advice to Roco. They will never give replays because they don't have them.

  3. Allright guys, I am coming to the GR community for some much needed insight and advice. My team has been playing on the Team IRA server for much of the last year or so, and in doing so thought that we had gotten to know the members of IRA fairly well. The clan leader for IRA, Stealthpanther, owns the server and runs the show. The other night he accused one of our team (who was briefly a member of IRA) of cheating for allegedly using both names and retlock. Without further discussion he banned my team mate. This guy has been on the GR scene for over three years and was originally with a very repected team here in the GR community, leaving them only when they quit playing GR to move on to other games. He is a respected player, based on both his personality and his playing ability. Here is where the situation gets tricky.

After my team mate tried to talk to Stealthy about the accusation and got no where, I went on to their server and talked to the guy. Politely I explained to him that in the GR community such accusations weren't ususally made so hastily and that we would like to see the replays. If one of ours was cheating we wanted to not only know about it, but wanted the proof. His response was that it wasn't a ladder match, so there were no replays and that he had all the proof he needed. Further, he said the banning wasn't up for discussion, that we needed to ask the team mate how he was cheating. This got my dander up to say the least.

Now, to put this in perspective, what had apparently happened is that over the course of three or four maps, my guy had waxed him several times, so obviously he must be cheating. Having researched some other team forums, Roco (AFZ Clan Leader) found that there have been a number of respected, better-than-average players that have been banned from their server accused of cheating. In fact, whole teams have been banned for coming into their server and beating them. Apparently, they feel that if someone comes into their server and is able to beat them that they must be cheating. This is the same excuse they use for not matching, that the ladders are full of cheaters. Don't get me wrong, most of the guys we have met in IRA age pretty straight up guys, but we would like to be able to put a caveat out there that if you get involved with them to be careful as your reputation may get questioned. The team member is question is a great player and has been nothing but an outstanding addition to our team since joining. We don't think it's fair that IRA be able to make accusations in an open server where other members of our community can see it, but not be willing to stand up and provide the proof of their accusations.

Any input, or advice, or even comments, would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

  4. That's pretty sad, though I talked to a friend of mine that plays one of those games and he says there are guys making $3-$4K per month playing the games and then selling things on ebay from the game. It's amazing that 1. Anyone would pay for stuff from the game, and 2. That there are so many people playing these online games that there is such a market. 200,000 people registered on just that one game...that is sick...

  5. @ Ronin: I understand and sympathize with you completely. Feel free to un-capitalize as necessary...

@snared gambit: I will admit that I didn't research the whole I.D. card story to find out what it was all about, and if they are talking about using the I.D. card as more than an identification tool, then I agree that the government would be overstepping its authority. If you think, however, that there is not already that type of record on you, consult your local or federal law enforecement. Hell, spend $25.00 on the internet and search for yourself, you'll find that the type of information you speak of is already compiled, and is for sale, with our without your approval.

The 4th amendment, as written was to prevent agents of the king from freely being able to rifle through your home, papers, business, etc. without probable cause (as was the prevailing mode of investigation in that day). Again, 18th century thought being applied to 21st century politics. Yes, the document has been applied in many different ways, and its meaning changed over the course of our country's history depending on the prevailing attitudes of our government at the time. As such, we no longer are governed by Constitutional law as it was written, but by Judicial law, which has it's base not in the Constitution itself, but in the opinions of the judges who interpret that broad document according to the political climate of the day. Why do you think that the fact that the President may have to replace one or more sitting Justices during this term became such a worry for the Democrats. Sitting justices have more sway over LAW than does the Constitution as its written.

@Parabellum: I think that if there is an argument to be made over the constitutionality of such an I.D. card, that you are right, the 10th Amendment would give you a much stronger position in court, especially when the states already things such as driver's licenses and I.D.'s.

@ W.K.: Thanks for the research. I didn't have the time to find out if it was law or not, but I knew damn well you couldn't do anything anymore without a SS#.

    @Ruin: Agreed!!!

  6. Lose your temper with who? Me? I certainly hope not. The moderator who wrote earlier in this thread made it clear that as long as the line of reasoning was sound and the verbage polite, that this discussion was okay. If it is my thoughts on the above that you have a problem with, feel free to jump into the discussion.

  7. @ osokdfgr:

First of all, the word is "Constitution" not Constatution and if you are talking about the U.S. Constitution it is to be capitalized.

Second of all, without a S.S.#, you will never vote, pay taxes, go to school, receive medical benefits including insurance, get a driver's license, apply for a loan, open a checking account, etc...while there may be no law requiring it, you won't get far without it. I can only guess that you must be young enough to not know just how much of your existence relies on your Social Security number. You will find as you grow older that you are very much a number to the government and many other agencies, companies, etc.

Thirdly, until such time as the U.S. Supreme Court says that a law is unconstitutional, it has the force of law and you must obey it. It is not optional.

And finally! Spending, come on...you are kidding right? Do you think that the cost is ever a consideration when it comes to government policy? Give me a break. They could pay regular price instead of the government rate for a single screw on every piece of government equipment and would have enough money to pay for making ID's a hundred times over.

  8. I find it amusing that someone would use constitutionality as an argument against something as trivial as a national id card. I would like someone to show me a direct quote from Constitution that says that making a person carry an identification card is a violation of their civil rights. Once again, it is the mistake of trying to force 18th century ideas of government into 21st century politics. Neither the Constitution, nor the Bill of Rights (the first 10 Amendments to the Constitution whose sole purpose was to try and lay down in writing those inalienable rights of our citizenry) speak about something as trivial as carrying an id card. Why? Because the founding fathers believed that those documents should address the most fundamental of our civil rights.

If you really want to talk about an issue that violates rights of citizens of the U.S., talk about a government based on the idea of Seperation of Church and State that is currently trying to pass legislation which by all practical application prevents the recognition of same sex marriages in the U.S. by making said recognition a decision to be made solely at the state level. Not because they don't want to provide the same privileges to those couples, but because this government sees it as immoral. I find it amusing that our government will force the 10 Commandments to be removed from our courthouses, even if the states support its presence, but use morality as an excuse to outlaw something as fundamental to the "pursuit of happiness" as marriage, even if it doesn't fit our idea of traditional marriage.

I think its time that the people of the United States took the blinders off that allow them to feel threatened by something as negligible as an id card, and start taking a closer look at the real issues that affect us, like the cost of medical care/medical insurance, unresponsible government spending which in the long run will cost all of us more money, and a social security system that most people my age (33) will never see by the time we retire. The fact that my mother and father (and eventually my wife and I) will barely be able to afford the medicines they need after retiring is a lot more troubling to me than whether or not I have to carry a piece of plastic in my wallet.

(sorry for the rant, but I think we sometimes lose sight of the big picture)

  9. We are on the hunt for some new blood!!! Have you been put off by the hoops you have to jump through to join a clan or got the feeling that to join a team you had to subscribe to some psuedo-military philosophy where you are calling people "SIR" to play a game? Or are you new to the GR scene and gotten tired of playing lone wolf everywhere you go?

Seriously, if you are out there playing solo, but you have been looking for a clan that doesn't get caught all up in the military rank/power trip thing, stop by and play a few with us. We are simply a bunch of guys who enjoy playing GR every chance we get and kicking a little butt now and then.

We have our own website, www.attackforcez.com, and our own game server that is available 24-7. Just like American Express, membership has its privaleges!

  10. This is to put it out there to the GR community that tonight someone came into our server and picked up our names, then proceeded to run around to different servers acting like unadulterated asses (sorry Rocky and others) with my tag on. To clarify...None of the AFZ guys were playing anywhere other than our server before 11:00 EST tonight. If you ran into these jerks, Roco has the IP's he was able to capture and has banned them from our server. If you desire the IP's, em Roco over at www.attackforcez.com and he will be happy to provide them.

To AFD, thanks for realizing that these guys were bogus and providing us with more of their ip's.

It should be noted that when they jumped onto our server some were wearing bogus TAW tags, and Dust informed us the one used a CDN tag also.

  11. The bumper to bumper warranty is only 3 yrs 36k, with a 7yr 70 or 100k power train warranty. As the concern that was noted was in the transmissions, I felt that this was the important information. As far as an electrical issue, couldn't speak as to whether or not the b2b would cover it. If you read any owner's manual there are always exclusions and so no warranty on the market is truly bumper to bumper, thus the name limited bumper to bumper.

As to the integrity of the dealer, if you and Dick are in the same area he would definitely know who is the right one to deal with. There are always unscrupulous dealers where ever you go, and honestly, like I said before, no one in a dealership is on your side when you come in to buy the car. Everybody there makes a living off of their sales and so they have an interest in what happens.

@DS---surely you wouldn't hold it against a finance manager for holding a couple of rate points would ya? lol

  12. I sold the new Dodge Rams and without having driven the new F-150 I can tell you its the nicest of the trucks on the market. As far as the tranny problems, when the body was re-designed for 2003, it got a re-designed drive train also. As far as ride and performance, the Ram is as comfortable a truck as there is on the market. In the 3500 it also has the greatest towing and payload capacity with the ability to tow up to 16,500 lbs., much more than any comparable truck in its class at the time. As for the GMC, too much money. Nice truck, plenty of power, but plenty of sticker in the window also. Dick has got a good idea with the Titan though. Gas mileage won't be any worse than any other full sized truck, and from what I have seen they are a super nice truck for the money. Only problem that I would have buying one of them is that its a new model on the market and as such there may be bugs that haven't been worked out yet. It is a Nissan though, so its probably as safe a bet as anyone else. Can't go wrong with the Ram though, big warranty, big truck, average price tag. When I was selling them you could get the loaded up Laramie edition in the 1500 for about $33k...not too bad for everything you get in that package. My advice...learn all you can about the vehicle you decide on and be educated before you go to the dealership. And remember, nobody at the dealership is on your side...lol!!

    Good Luck..

  13. MSN is reporting that there were 20 militants killed, a number which includes 10 Arabs. Three of the militants are still baracaded in the basement with hostages and have exchanged gunfire with security forces. It think that this takes the top spot for chicken #### in the world right now. What kind of coward specifically targets children? I hope that the locals do catch up with these guys and put them to a slow, painful death. My favorite would be drawing and quartering in the public square.

  14. He's correct. One of my best friends was stationed at "8th and I" and was part of the Presidential Honor Guard. He participated in Clinton's Inauguration, and did a few funerals, but his part was mostly to dress right and look pretty, give tours, etc. It's a pretty big honor as only a few each year are selected for that duty station.
