I have GR only....no expansions. I'm installing patch 1.3, do I need 1.4 w/o DS or IT?

I recently read a post saying that black sun was only compatable with GR patch 1.2. 1- Is this true and 2- where can I find THAT patch. THX for any help you can provide!
