  1. Ok... I went to the HX5 homepage http://www.dragmods.org/ and they have a Q&A forum there that helped. Apparently DS and IT have to be activated to run HX5. Also, they suggested that I delete this file current.but from the GR directory. I did this and HX5 actually loaded the mission. Not sure what this file does, but it seemed to work. Thanks for all the help everyone!!! I'm up and running again.... ....for now..
  2. Do the mods require faster processors? The min. requirements on the box of the game say min. processer speed is 400Mhz. Also, the game ran ok with Frostbite, DS, IT. I use to play online also. One more thing... how do I get the VIA drivers from VIAarena to install? I have tried a couple times and they don't install.
  3. Ok... I did find an updated video driver. I installed it and the regular GR ran just fine. I did a quick mission and it worked just fine. So, I then activated HX5 and SP Mod kit. Now, I start a campain and just after I pick my team and get to the mission loading screen the game just quits. No hanging at all. It just quits. Any ideas?????
  4. Does anyone have any ideas... Sorry, just starting to get trigger finger withdrawls....
  5. I thought I would try something so I went ahead and 'deactivated' the mods, DS, IT, Frostbite and HX5. I then tried to just play a GR mission. It still hung on the mission loading screen. No different than before..
  6. I have played the regular GR and Frostbite. I also use to play online. I just started playing HX5. I just got about 2 minutes into the first mission and had to stop. Then later, when I came back to play, it would not start. But, periodically, in the past, the regular GR and Frostbite would also just quit in the middle of a mission. Not just HX5. I was told before that I should update the video driver and to update to directX 9. After that is when the game would just hang at mission load.
  7. Ok..My video driver is the most current one now.. Then I ran the v4.51 exe file that I downloaded. I still get the same Dxdiag report. It shows the same drivers as all the Dxdiag reports that I have shown you here. Nothing seems to be installing. I am starting to get confused. Didn't think it would be this bad.. Any other suggestiions? I really appreciate you helping me with all this.. Thanks!
  8. The video card is an add-in. I'm sure I followed the instructions.. put the VIA driver in the WINDOWS/DRIVERCACHE folder. Ran normal install... restarted.. Is that right?
  9. Ok.. Here is the latest Dxdiag report... ------------------ System Information ------------------ Time of this report: 3/19/2004, 17:57:05 Machine name: THECSFOUR Operating System: Windows XP Home Edition (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 1 (2600.xpsp2.030422-1633) Language: English (Regional Setting: English) System Manufacturer: n/a System Model: n/a BIOS: Default System BIOS Processor: AMD Athlon Processor, MMX, 3DNow, ~590MHz Memory: 384MB RAM Page File: 244MB used, 870MB available Windows
  10. Ok... I downloaded the VIA Hyperion v4.51 drivers. Set a system restore point. Extracted the file to the WINDOWS/DRIVER CACHE folder... (this I wasn't sure of, but the instructions did say put the file where the drivers were at). Ran the normal install. It didn't take any time at all to do that. Restarted.. then tried Ghost Recon. Same thing happened. So I ran the Dxdiag again and here are the results...( I may be wrong but I think they look the same) Did I do it incorrectly? ------------------ System Information ------------------ Time of this report: 3/18/2004, 00:43:43
  11. Thanks for the response. I went the the website and it sounds like this is updating my motherboard drivers instead of my video card. Do I need to do this too? If so, which one should I use? My motherboard shows that it has this chipset: VIA southbridge 686A and a AMD-751 northbridge. Would the VIA Hyperion v4.51 be the one I use?
  12. I have occationally had problems with the game just quiting during play. I was told to check and update my video driver. I just did that. I then updated to directx9 too. Now all my other games still work but Ghost REcon won't. It starts... I pick my campain...select load mission....then it hangs on the loading mission screen. I have to reset the computer. It won't even show the task manager when I ctrl/alt/del. Here is what I get when I run Dxdiag. THANKS for all the help in advance!! Operating System: Windows XP Home Edition (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 1 (2600.xpsp2.030422
