The texture of the gun isn't all that great compared to the textures surrounding him. I am kind of disappointed in that. When I looked through the pic gallery at IGN the textures were amazing...but not on this gun.

I am new to modeling maps in 3dsMax. I have a little experience in modeling guns, but when looking for info on map modeling, Mike Schell's Tutorial comes up a lot. I tried to find it at The Platoon, but the site isn't up. Can anyone direct me to a copy of this tutorial or perhaps a tutorial similar to this one? Thanks, DeUcE

Thanks Snow, that helped alot. I never would have thought about having to model the gun with either a cone or a cylinder. It does seem unecessary though since it actually won't do anything but give away a location. Thanks again for the response. Deuce

I have seen in a mod where it is possible to have a gun with a laser scope on it. I would assume that it would then be possible to have the gun light mounted below a barrel emit light also, or am I wrong in this assumption? I really have no idea where to begin with this so I am just looking for some insight as to how this is accomplished. Any help is appreciated!

Thanks for the help. Those Pain videos helped a lot. I think I may have a problem with my 3dsm though. I get couple of error messages before I get model exported.

I have recently finished my first model of a handgun, but when I exported it from 3dsMax and into GR, the gun is the size of a house and has no texture on it. I assume it was a problem with my units when making the model, but I am yet to figure it out. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
