I just picked up the Deluxe edition but haven't installed it yet.

i've been enjoying it for a little vile now, when time premits me, and also started flying with vatsim. having online atc is nice :)

    ps. :

big flyin in northern norway this weekend btw )

not sure if i'll amke it though, since i've got the house filled with guests :\

have a nice weekend though, and have a safe flight

I thought about attending the Fly-In but then decided against it as I have only flown on VATSIM once so far. I'm pretty sure the ATC wouldn't be too happy with my having to make an emergency landing!

  2. Open your background image in Photoshop (i.e. the bike). Then add a new layer on top of that. Add a layer mask to it. Then begin to paint on that mask to reveal the layer below (unmasking it). It looks like they used some funky sort of brush to get the jagged edges. Photoshop comes with quite a few brushes to choose from and a quick Google search will reveal numerous more free brushes that you could download and use.

  3. I have FSX and have really been enjoying it. I don't have much history with flight sims but I'm slowly picking up the pace of flying technique. The full-service airports are freakin' cool too...

  4. LOL, at least after BF2142 we KNOW EA won't be stealing ANYONE's business for a while...

hey, ill be going to the release party next week, so ill make sure to send your regards ;)

sorry I cant give you any more info on the patch, not my info to give out im afraid.

    "... the patch"

At least we at least know for sure there was/is a patch! :grin2:

  5. Ubi could learn a lesson from Microsoft of all people. The longest selling franchise of any game is Flight Simulator. Each iteration adds something new and not just aircraft. FS 2004 added ATC to the game to help make it feel more like actually flying under ATC control instead of just flying from one airport to another. This year they added the ability for the player to be an ATC controller if he/she so chooses. This is a prime example of keeping core gameplay and advancing the game. They also added "missions" where you can fly the RedBull Racing Circuit to name one mission. There are others to go with it.

Which is a game that I have found myself nearly addicted to since I picked it up this last weekend...

  6. I've been a loyal GRIN fan and GRAW fun, and still am, though my interest is waning a bit. The disconnects (whether from SADS or GameSpy) are getting old, the numbers of online players seem to be dwindling with the passing of each week, and bugs that were in the Beta release of the last patch never were fixed...not to mention new ones that seemingly have popped up since then.

I sit here a bit frustrated...

  7. Hey deuce, how long have you been into the Gr series?

I've played GR since the beginning. Joined GR.NET a mere 5 months after you did. Played for a few different squads in that time. I was the CO of a squad of fellow GR series gamers while in college. We played TDM on a few different ladders but never did real well. College guys are hard to pin down for match times!

    Why you ask?

I asked because I think alot of folks, (Thinking you weren't an old school GR fan) want old GR features are necessary for the success for GRAW. that's all.

I would be the first to say that GRAW isn't exactly like GR 1 and that some elements found in GR that are missing in GRAW would have made the game a great deal better. BUT, I still find GRAW to be the game that brings me back to it nearly every night. I am an old school GR fan...still have it installed and run through some of the new mods that have been released, but I find GRAW to be an acceptable, fun new GR.

  8. They did... sum of all fears, lockdown and ravenshield. ;) None of which was very good except as a SP

I disagree - Ravenshield was great fun as an MP as well as SP

I'll second that. RVS hours of fun.

While we're listing redstorm games (even though RVS isn't one...) that 'Ghost Recon' shooter they put out a few years ago was pretty good.

I too was surprised that no one mentioned "that" one...

  9. I still have a few extensions/plug-ins not working with 2.0. But I love it thus far. All the the major ones have been updated (Gmail notifier, Sage, Greasemonkey, FoxyTunes, etc.). Only the minor ones are yet be updated. Don't let that hold you back Cpt.Led...
