As Sart, 2nd Ranger and El Nino know only too well I've had a recurring issue with hosting OPF and keeping my Norton firewall up and running. What I found was the in the Intrusion Protection Section the Autoblock feature was reading the Sockets scan from PC's trying to join me as an attempt to access my PC, which it was, but NIS didn't know that I wanted these PC's to access my PC so I could run a game. The solution was to click the Exclusion button next to the blocked IP's and exclude them from the autoblock feature. Result, Everyone got in using Sockets and mucho funo was had by

Hopefully we can make sure that 2nd Ranger can see the same thing. I'd like to try and host to see what the connections are like to my PC. I've a 2.8 P4, so I've plenty of spare CPU power to run a server as long as the connection problems we've had in the past have sorted themselves out with me running TCPOptimizer, which I hope they have. We can try later on if someone else is on, however I may not be around (gaming wise) until Saturday Night -

Well it seems that it was my connection that was causing the problem. Ran TCPOptimizer, adjusted the settings and off we went. Sart was hosting as a mid way point between me and El Nino, and we both had similar pings to his server. Looking Good -

We can try ASE if that is what most people are suggesting, then all the better. Certainaly from reading the forums it would appear that Sockets offers the better network code. All you lose is the Voice Over Network feature, and since we use TeamSpeak anyway it's no loss for us -
Sart and I tried, and tried, and tried ... to get Sockets to work. He couldn't see my server, I couldn't see his. Also as an upshot he now can't see my Direct Play server either I can't understand why the sockets are not working, but it may be down to network latency, or my firewall/router combo. A lot of work tonight, and no return We may try hosting with GameSpy arcade to see if that is any better.

*rushes to put it back on topic* I can spare you two buttons and some pocket dirt, that's about it. You could always join the other tightwads, including myself in the OFP forum and splurge out on OPF GOTY
-
You need some webfirst to host the pics on and then either use the button, or the button. Both will ask you for the URL of where you pic is, enter that (cutting and pasting it from a browser window which is showing your pics is a good idea as it negates any typo's), and the description if you are using the button and voila.

Pave Low just bought a copy of OFP GOTY

I think I found it at OPFEC.com, can't remember. It is a third party app, not official.

Doesn't PBO Decrypter or whatever it's called do this? Separate the PBO File I mean.
