Most of the missions are on the server, however, there's also a lot of missions with mods that we don't use any more. This causes a problem when trying to join as most people don't have the other mods, and to be honest, I think we've forgotten which mods we used.
Once we get the dedi cleaned up it should present less of a problem.

I think you need the Opwatch server side to download the mods from the server. I don't use it as I only play on either the GRNET server or host the games. It looks decent, but I don't need it ... at the moment.

It was last night GMT.
-
We're about half way through at the moment, so there's still plenty of action to come. Given that we only complete one or two missions per week then we should see this campaign into January 2005

Got everything going again, and boy was it worth it. Fantastic stuff tonight/this morning.
A pile of Screenies to sort out now

1532GMT GNNFEEDIMBEDUSFORCESOCARTA
Vartan Forces suffer strategic loss
From Arnold Millen, Socrata, GRNET News Network
US Special forces have dealt a strategic blow to Vartan aims to hold onto the ground that they have gained on the Island of Socrata by attacking a major fuel supply base. The fuel was US Intelligence believe to be used for a major assault to the north of the island by Vartan Mechanized Infantry and heavy armor.
US Forces have continued to make small gains on the island, and have again given the recent of intelligence requested that they are reinforced by the deployment of Abrahms M1 Main Battle Tanks. The UN are still reluctant to authorise this given the main population base is in the south of the island, and do not want heavy armor deployed in an urban area.
Recent days have saw US forces begin more routine tasks, and are forming a basis for large scale humanitarian aid supplies to the area. Many of the international aid groups are waiting to enter the area, but are requesting hostilities are halted to allow them to access all areas of the island. Whilst the US has undertaken to guarantee the safety of any foreign national who is employed in humanitarian aid work, the Vartan's have warned any person entering the island alongside the US forces will be considered an "accessory to the US Slaughter".
In a more embarrassing move, a US Soldier is facing a court martial after allegedly making "inappropriate remarks" to a colleague. The two soldiers who's identity and unit have not been disclosed have been interviewed after one of the soldiers stated to the other "Well, here we are in the back of this Hummer with no protection". A US Spokesmen stated that despite this incident morale among the troops is high, and they are focused on the task at hand.

I'm still unable to get in the server as it stands, but if i can then Sat is better for me, but whatever is best for the majority has to be the one to go with...

Don't read too much into not getting onto the server. Some of the earlier missions that were made up use addons that we don't use now, and as such it take someone who has them, or has admin access to get in, and change the mission the server is running. Hopefully we'll get them cleared out soon, and the server will be playable anytime

Paves the only one who can see to that.
-
I can make saturday, however it'll be 2359GMT as GRNET have a match on.

I just checked and I have them split between Addons, and Res.
Thinking about it RES may be the better location, as addons was probably for the CWC addons

Everything goes into your Operation Flashpoint/Addons directory

If I get chance to look on my gaming PC, I'll see if anything rings a bell.

Your both using Sockets to try and join?

I think that just happened on my server. The dedi worked first time for the rest of us.

Good stuff, we can always spare room for a man who knows how to handle a .... shovel.
We're digging in at the moment, but soon there will be major operations heading to the south.

I take it you have any Firewall/Routers set up correctly?
It sounds like a problem that we were having in the early days of MP. I'll try and rack my brains today about it, but it should be easier to set up on Teamspeak.
There are a few missions which resulted in people getting kicked from the server on Friday, it may be that, we'll hopefully get it sorted tonight.
One thing I have learned about OPF is that you need to be patient ehn it comes to sorting it out, it can take a bit of effort.....
but it's worth it

A plan has been formulated to get some games going tomorrow, around 7PM GMT. I realise some of you may not be able to make it, but it would be nice to get a few more guys in on it. Obviously the big games will be at the weekend...

I will try, probably make it at about 1930 for 1 hour as i have to go out.

As Penfold would say "'Cor Chief"

Welcome Crowman, looks like we've all been headed in the same direction

Like Ranger said, teh BAS copters, while Jaw dropping, caused us a few headaches, and are more than a bit hungry when it comes to resources.
That was also the reason that we are trying to tidy the number of mods up, as tho there all nice and everything, they do tie you machine up.
The ultimate goal is to have a set of mods we use for specific types of game. Infantry stuff for infantry type games, and Spec Ops stuff for the Spec Ops games.
Check out the Gulf of Aden campaign subforum and you'll get a flavour of what we're trying to achieve.
Hopefully we'll see you and some of the other RSI'ers on Socrata soon

You need the server side of OpWatch to be running to download mods, and IIRC it wasn't installed due to some problem.
