If you know what you are doing and know the packages and programs that you need, the installation of Linux and upgrading+installing the latest programs is extremely easy with most distributions. Pretty much all the major package management systems are fantastic about getting dependencies and so on. For example, when I was first learning about apache I tried installing it under Windows. I downloaded the installer, ran it, then had to figure out if I wanted to install it as a service, then edit the configuration file. I Ubuntu. Hehe, yesterday the computer club that I am in made a cantenna. Basically, it's a soup can modification that extends the range of a wifi link. We were excited to try it out but after booting up Vista, there were no drivers available. No problem right? Just go to the website and download them. Well, it turns out none of their products have drivers for Vista yet... so... no wireless. I'm bringing in a liveCD next time to test it out.

Yeah, I played it on the easy setting and there were some parts that were quite hard. I think I used a grenade on that MG too. If you think that one is hard, just wait for the last mission (epilogue mission #2). As for Deus Ex, I have it... sorta. This makes me really mad. Well, I was at CompUSA here last week and picked up Tropico and Stronghold (2 game pack) and Full Spectrum Warrior both for $10 dollars each with 10% off (going out of business sale). I finished the FSW campaign and it was quite fun. Worth the low price IMO.

I just bought Full Spectrum Warrior. It was a steal for $10 in the bargain bin. The campaign is kinda short and the graphics are looking a little dated but it's still kinda fun. You might want to try the demo to make sure it will run on your machine.

There's some other website, I can't remember the name... where you can control the lights in his house. All via the web and watching with a webcam. That'd be kinda weird, sitting in your house watching people turn your lights on and off.... hehe.

After playing the demo I wasn't really impressed. It must be all the other fantastic RTS games out there. The FMV looked awesome but I'm not buying a game to watch a movie, I'm buying it to play it.

My favorite was the paratroop drop where you are assaulting the rocket facility. Gotta be really careful with the limited units.

Well, I got Supreme Commander. It's pretty sweet, but I don't think I have the best computer to play it on. Make sure you get the patch before playing it because I had problems even running the game because of the SecuRom copy protection. After installing the patch which removes SecuRom, it ran fine, even without the CD. Bad decision on their part. Developers, don't install copy protection software! I started it up and fired up a skirmish round. On the big maps with 4 players on them, my computer slowed to a crawl. It's not my graphics card because the unit count in this game is insane

Sweet, thanks for the tip. You can also change the AI strategy using that same method. Hehe, I tried playing against the alien race but it doesn't work. The skirmish starts up and then you win immediately. They must not have been included.

Are there any mods in the works that are similar to Shogun? I know someone was working on one for Rome Total War involving China but I haven't heard of any using the new updated MTW2 engine.

They need to release some new drivers for XP. They're getting ancient...

The Omega Nvidia drivers haven't been updated in a long time so I wouldn't use those. But the ATI drivers are quite good.

Has anyone beat the demo on hard? I beat it on easy and normal but hard is well... very hard...
