I have a Turtle Beach sound card after my Creative card died some time ago and it's working out quite well. Besides Creative and Turtle Beach, there aren't really any other big sound card manufacturers.

I would suggest turning each of those items off and see if it still does it. If not, start turning them on again one by one and see which one is the culprit. Otherwise, my immediate reaction is that it's a graphics driver issue. I remember when I first installed Doom 3 and there were these white artifact pixels everywhere. It was incredibly annoying but after ATI updated their drivers, it worked fine.

So it sounds like get Quad, as long as the price drops, and certainly get a better PSU for future potential SLI? So I think I need to bite the bullet here and build a new system. The 5 year old Alienware that has had various upgrades over time just isn't cutting it anymore. I have a couple questions though: 1) If I build a new system with Intel's latest Dual Core CPU or Quad Core, will the old Windows XP CD that I have work? This CD is really old and doesn't even have SP1 on it. It should work right? It's the Windows XP CD that I got with my Alienware?
