  1. Overview

XNA is a set of technologies Microsoft is building to help tame the costs and complexity associated with game development. This introductory session will provide an overview of XNA and describe how game studios will be able to use it to help manage their content creation and content builds.

    XNA (48 minutes)

  2. It also comes down to the Dev's of the game also if they want to add a server.

There have been a number of games where they well host there own servers. (Blackhawk Down, Far Cry, BF2) just to name afew. Yet for the most part it is like gamespy where we all sign in on a home server, but still have full control on who makes the rooms. Yet when it comes to EA they like to force you into any room and can't host half the time, but so far EA is the only one thats gone over board on this.

  3. Yea you missing out on what the x360 is all about until you go live.

Anyways have you had a chance to look at The Outfit?

It's like a cross bread of Brothers In Arms with a Command & Conquer twist of full blowen desturction. Than add in a element of BF1942 in there and you got The Outfit. Once you get Live there is also a free MP demo of it when you get the chance. I even love the single player game of it becuase some mission can last up to a hour, even in MP CooP they can last a hour. The team games are just amazing! Anyways The Outfit is a Good Game, but it could be only worth a rental if your store ever starts to carry them or you can just wait for Live and DL them for free.

  4. Rocky,

Im not sure what type of gamer you are, but for the PDZ you going to rather love it or hate it. From over the years from what i seen you post about what you play im not sure that game is for you. If you really like to try it i might say a rental first.

Other than that on 3/23 Blazing Angles comes out and Far Cry a week or so later.

Even BF2 is also coming around on 4/11 and if you can't wait a MP demo of BF2 on 3/24 less than a week. Plus like the other guys said already Oblivion might be a very wize choose to if you like RPG's and that comes out 3/20 so one more day.

Again I can't say you won't like PDZ, but from the kind of player i think you are im not sure you will care for it and a rental will save you money and time to see if that game is right for you. Plus with much much better games comeing out this week it might be worth holding out for something better.

  5. "...With the Playstation 3, we're taking games to the next level. We're making them 4D..."

I been hearing way to much about Sony hypen up the 4D thing.

I find it hard to understand how anyone takes Sony for real anymore!?

They tring to sell the Holy Grail and the Fans believe every word.

Are the youth of today that easy to brainwash or are that really that dumb that they can't see past the lies?

If anything im waiting for April to hear them say April Fools.

PS3 well play next gen games really no better than x360 if at all, but it well cook your dinner as you play and if you preorder now we will throw in bread and cheese so you can cook up cheese sandwichs when you bring it home!

  6. The one thing that makes me want to try Prey all comes down to the Gates. That just sounds like it could make for some killer MP games. Than there is the upsidedown and walking on walls thats makes me think twice on tring it! The game looks great & i still want to try the Singleplayer for the most part.

Now if they could keep it just with the Gates & lose the upside down fighting in MP this would be a must own/or rent. Besides the upside down thing i see nothing wrong with the game, not that there is nothing wrong with it it's just not my cup of tea.

  7. I own a 51inch HDTV and just bought a new 64inch HDTV and nether have the DVI or HDMI support. I wasn't thinking when i got my new one about the DVI or HDMI support.

If they don't make a normal HDTV jacks or even a converter i am really rethinking about getting the PS3 right now becuase believe me i have no plans to buy another HDTV for at least 5 plus years. With my x360 running in 720p on both TV's I'm set to go and not really wanting to go back to normal TV mode when playing when the PS3 comes around. Besides that it's not like the PS3 has any games i want planned right now that the X360 won't have. So i can wait it out until one of two things happens, the kid down the street goes broke and needs money or the prices start to drop & a killer app game comes out also (Twisted Metal). For the November release i can see it happening, but i won't hold my breath i can still see it getting pushed back even more without a doubt.

As for the price of the PS3 i also think they going to charge at least $599 Plus.

But they did say the cheapest it well be $349-$425 & i just don't believe it for what they got planned. The 60GB HD i can also see not being cheap & still wondering on how much they going to use it if it aint standered & it aint worth it to me if its just for surfing the web and cheap game saves. Also the Gamespy Technology for it's online could be a good thing to try to keep up with XBL, but only time well tell on that one!

Ken Kutaragi at Tokyo press conference

    PS3:

    - 60GB HDD 2.5" with pre-installed Linux OS will be standard (included? we don't know 100%, but it is "required") and is upgradeable

    - Price will not be less than 50.000YEN (~$425USD) [Note that Japanese prices are usually higher. SPECULATION is that it will be $349-$499 USD]

    - PS3 will have HDMI support from launch

    - The online service will be working off of GameSpy technology (co-development with SOE)

  8. This kid lives about a hour away from here. His story keeps coming back on the news at least once or twice a week here. Anyways today he was on the news again with G.W. Bush by his side, Plus there was more on Disney tring to buy hes story for a movie.

I bet the Lady's are Loven him from all the press he's getting.

MP - The cross-com on the left had side had the players name you are watching, that name stays there even if you turn off the cross-com

    --

I believe it stays there becuase even with the crosscom off you can still give orders to who ever you put it on. I got mine turned off as well and all i do is cycle who i want from the name and can still paint way points. Is it a bug i say no, but even with the cross com off you still have control over who you give way points to so thats why the name stays.

  10. I got massive trigger lag in singleplayer, but it didn't stop me from beating the game and going back on hard to do it again!

It's a Good game, but even with trigger lag up to 5 seconds the game is very easy to beat even on Hard.

  11. I think i could see it being a Chopper game. I see it being no diffrent that say a story about Airwolf.

Could be a story about a Chopper crew doing there thing in the heat of battle.

He has done other things like 3 Sub books SSN (1996), Red Storm Rising (1986) & The Hunt for Red October (1984) they even made a game out of SSN! I can't say it is a chopper game no, but he has done other things besides just ground combat. I see it being posible but yet still it can still be about anything.

Plus to be honest i would love to have a chopper sim finaly make its way out, well only if its online if not than i guess i can skip it LOL and with Tom Clancy in the name im sure it could be done right.

  12. Well i feel i need to repley on the trigger lag once more.

As for every point all you made is very understandable yet im affriad this still aint the case for me. Just a small exsmaple, I can come up on a coner stop peek around see enemys. Well i do have the uperhand right now becuase they don't see me yet. So i can go into Zoom take my time to get the head shot right between the eyes becuase thats where i like it. Now i have the target lined up and ready i go into holding breath state finsh lineing up the shot pull the trigger and wait up to 5 seconds before the gun fires.

Just to show a friend when he was here we sat still never moved testing the lag in just pulling the trigger with being not being in Zoom and even in a Zoom state and it always came down to at least a 2 second lag up to 5 seconds.

Now also from what i noticed from when i first turn the game on it starts off with a 5 second trigger lag, but after say 15 minutes of playing it cuts down to 2 second trigger lag after the 15 minutes. Yet if i get to a check point and they make me change guns im back to 5 second lag all over again. Maybe it has something to do with the Hard Drive cashe not loading it right i don't know!

Ever since i had the X360 i had to reformate the Hard Drive 3 times so if i had to guess it might just be a Hard Drive problem.

  13. Yea Quake 4 has very bad heckups. I never got around to the PC version so i thought i would try the x360 version, but when i got it home and put it in i know the first minute i would never beat that game with the frame rate the way it was!

Than again i said oh well wasn't never a Quake fan anyways so it didn't bother me to much and i returned it the next day.

  14. Is anyone else haven Trigger Lag in Singleplayer? I have at least one other friend that says he has the trigger lag too, but i don't see no one talking about it in the forums or is it that everyone is on the MP and just hasn't played SP yet?

Plus im guessing that none of the Singleplayer Devs that made the game come here ether to help or fix this is there?

  15. Emm whats,

    Tom Clancy’s Firehawk (PS3, Xbox 360, PC) - March 2007

Not sure what that one is, but the term Firehawk sounds like a chopper game.

[Post(s) split and merged with existing thread]

  16. Ok my bug is in Singleplayer with trigger lag.

I get a 2 to 5 second trigger lag in Singleplayer, but thats all that lags. The movment of the guy is dead on. The action bottons are dead on (All Bottons).

Yet when it comes to pulling the fire trigger i always get a 2 to 5 second delay before the gun fires. Everything else dosn't lag that i have seen so far.

With the trigger lag the game becomes almost unplayable in Singleplayer. As for multiplayer the controls are slugest with only a 1 second delay, but no where near as bad as the singleplayer more like the old GR2 trigger lag in MP.

Anyways this bug is only about the singleplayer trigger lag and so far i made it like 3 levels fighting with the delay. If this can't get patched i don't see myself ever beating the Singleplayer in this state!
