False "altered game files" kicks
GRIN_Wolfsong replied to Logos's topic in GR:AW 2 (PC) - Tech Support
From all I have seen There are 0 files in said folder. I have seen this with pure 100% stock GRAW2 files exception of the patch of course. Even in the local folder inside the user profile for Vista users? they will get XMB files in there which have to be removed manually if they have used a local folder type mod. I'm not saying this is the reason, just want more info as the initial post gives us nothing to go by in case there is a problem. -
It's very limited as it's totally flat. But you can use it of course. We only had it for testing props an stuff out on.

Weapon Restrictions - How?
GRIN_Wolfsong replied to cobrarosso's topic in GR:AW 2 - Server Operators
We found something yesterday. And there is a fix for it. Read this topic!: http://www.ghostrecon.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=46374 EDIT: I've tested the files you sent me after that fix and they worked for me in the bundle now. -

Help please - can't see kits on map!
GRIN_Wolfsong replied to Lightspeed's topic in GR:AW 2 - General Modding Topics

IMPORTANT: This is only needed for patch 1.03. As soon as the next patch is out this fix will no longer be needed. There has been several topics on problems with kits not showing up and similar problems, which worked while being used in the local folder, but not after being bundled. This was tracked down to the use of the "xi:include" function in combination with XMB generation when creating the bundle, which will make the XMB include the wrong path info. This will be fixed in the next patch, but I'll show you here how to solve it right now in the same way it will be solved in the patch.

Ok. We have a solution on this. I'm just gonna do a few more tests and then I'll post a topic in the general modding section on how to solve it.

I was about to post the same now that I got up and reed this topic. That looks ok.

Check the last chapter in the editor tutorial. I know I wrote it in there. You should have a strings.xml file, which you can place in the level folder by doing as the tutorial says. Then it should just be the create the correct entry and set the string in the correct place in the world_info.xml. I have your files, so I can test it as well.

Help please - can't see kits on map!

Tried to use "UTF-8" instead of "ISO-8859-1" in the mission.xml? Just wondering as the other topic had a post about this working for him in local folder... Which have me totally clueless, as it shouldn't need to be changed. -
Yes, that is how I figure it should work. You can put them anywhere on the map you want, like default order locations. And you can pile them how ever you want. Overlap, or not, they are still different locations that only are in use when the mission script calls for them.

RvsA/ Spawn Camping Awareness Day?
GRIN_Wolfsong replied to [HOT]Keyser's topic in GR:AW 2 (PC) - General Discussion
Mmmm... large and covered in bushes... that's good TDM maps. Fort and Arroyo are good DM maps in my opinion. -
Like I wrote earlier, there is apparently an error with the classes and kits in bundles. So it's nothing you can do anything about I'm afraid. I can only try to get someone to fix it for us from the looks of it. And I'll work on getting it fixed as it destroys the use of the bundle system totally.

Coop FireFight Game Mode
GRIN_Wolfsong replied to GRIN_Wolfsong's topic in GR:AW 2 - Mission Modding
Got a bit tied up with the problems I got mailed to me today as 1 proved to be a real bug... But I got the script with me home and will look at it after dinner, and then send it out. Haven't tested the maps I've received yet. Will do that tomorrow. -
You give it a name and then inside the script you use that name with the Composition element to play a composition on that location.
-
You can't get coordinates... but you can center a location on a group I believe (which will center on the group leader if it has one. Look for some script element like CenterLocation or something like that. You cna use a location as a target for a GroupOrder. Not sure. Maybe. You would need " surrounding the string in any case, it's XML syntax.

That`s interesting, thnx. Look at "Get me Rosen" mission07, how the road is blocked there. Vehicles are blocked by them, so they are put at an angle to allow the vehicles to drive in but not out. Mission Commands require 2 locations. 1 inner location, which triggers the warning when you leave it, and one outer location, which kills you when you leave that.

It didn't cause the instant death, it crashed the game for me when I hit launch.
-
I've reported the problem. Spend 1½ hours doing test on a little mod I threw together and I got the same result no matter what I did. Custom level or mods, as long as it was bundled it didn't show classes and kits. It does work in local folder though. In the local folder? Or when bundled? I used "<?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1"?>" and it worked in the local folder for me.
-
Ok. Did a test with bundle and you're right. It doesn't show up if it's bundled. I'll look into it more. But as soon as you remove the bundle from the custom_levels folder, your data/levels/custom_levels folder (they work from here when testing), and your local folder and have your context.xml set to "english", it shouldn't show up.

Are you running Vista? Then check inside your user folder... You'll find XMB files in there.
