  1. So...... I already own all the first 3D games in original. :P Just can't play them on the P4 becouse of the speed. That's why the 486 and the P1 is still around and running those when I feel like getting into some cult stuff. :D

  2. As nordic and greek mytholigy is required for everyone to study in Sweden I know most of them and the real mythology, not the comic or movie twisted ones. And the roman gods are mostly copied from the greek gods so they are quite easy to recognize.

The only ones I'm not sure of is Set & Anubis.

EDIT: And becouse if have studied that I have choosen Ares - the god or War as my avatar. Hey what can I say, neither Hades nor Tyr wasn't in the list of avatars. :P

  3. Wolfsong: that is a very interesting comment. I'm doing some research on that issue at the moment (also means I can have a cool computer in my office and play GR at work without getting in trouble :D )

Particularly looking at the "immersiveness" and the factors that make VR and VE situations "real" to th participant.

Given that the US (and others) military juggernaut ais now using VR and VE's to train soldiers, it is a pretty exciting topic.

Interestingly it seems skills (both motor and cognitive) learned in VR are more quickly learned than in real life situations!

    Delta

Yes they are. And that's why it is harder today to see who has the genetic potential of gaining higher skill level like we want with fighter pilots. We want them without as little physical coordination training as possible for the entry tests to actually pic the best of them.

But as many automatically train up their skills by sitting at computers those tests usually don't do the job right anymore. Have to figure out some other way to find natural abilities instead of learned ones.

  4. I know they are alike. Many people use the same texture for different models as they do look so alike. Didn't look down on you, just wanted you to know that it was visible that it was a Glock 17 texture. :P

I have the same problem..... hundreds of pics everywhere..... Never find the one I'm looking for and sometimes I think I've found it and I've used the wrong one. :D

  5. Yes, this is a problem we have in the military today when looking at potential candidates. We want people who has a born skill in the area and doesn't need to be fully trained at it. But to separate them from all the kids that have maxed out there capability by playing video games is really hard. The area where they aim mostly to find the ones with the natural skills is for fighter pilots.... Go figure....

  6. Sounds like the last 2 seasons in Sweden. Had almost only people between 20 and 30, and they got lots of "action" out of those 2 turns of BB-Sweden. Also quite wild party times as well.... ;)

  7. I would say that the original game isn't really a good reference..... It has multiple errors in weapons stats and performance. If you download a mod you canbe sure that all parts of that mod if made the same way, in other words their weapons work in comparison with all other weapons in the same mod. It's hard to compare mods becouse modders have a personal feeling on how it should be. My advice is when playing a mod, use only the weapons that come with the mod and don't combine weapon mods.

  8. Can't really say. It depends on what part of the world I'm in and what climate. Even in similar climates it depends much on which nation you are in as the forests, or mountains, or deserts don't look alike in different places. Impossible to say what camo is best. There is aimply no way to have a universal camo pattern.

  9. You get the same error if you run out of swap space. Don't know which OS you're running, butI've had it happen in win98/ME. And it all was up to how much free space I had on the HD. I needed 4,5Gb to be able to install SF v1.4.2, which is a little smaller then Frostbite v1.0. So I guess I would need a little over 5Gb free space to extract Frostbite. It can be that problem, have seen others have it as well on PC's with small HDs.

  10. I can only answer this question with..... too long.... I have no idea how long we played but we where in the appartment for over 80 hours.... Ordered in pizza and coca cola and fell asleap for an hour of 2 from time to time..... Never really looked at the clock untill I got home before I got to bed after those 80 hours....

What can I say. There is nothing like MP playing at a LAN when everyone is there.

  11. I think it's possible, Ghost. After all, a good deal of our older Special Forces soldiers today are from former Warsaw pact, and other mid/eastern euro countrys as well. Poland, Germany, CZ, Yugos, etc. I'm pretty sure the program for foreign nationals is still in place today.

I know we have officers in the Swedish Amphibious Corp that have taken a 4 year break and gone over to serve with USMC Force Recon as plain soldiers. And after the contract has been served they return home and get their officers rank back on.

EDIT: I'm not gonna get into the discussion about the British Army. I used to be a basic trainging instructor as well as a specialist instructor in weapons systems and jetfighter mechanics in Sweden. And our system doesn't resemble the system I read about here so I have no reference. Just get your differences sorted out.

I think a forum moderator should look in here and maybe try to cool things down. I know I would IF it had started in a forum I have control in.

  12. I suggest you post this in one of the 2 Frostbite topics, in "General Discussion" or "Mod Reviews" where discussion about that mod is going on and problems have been solved. Don't know about this one though.

    It could be corrupt file.

And I don't think just that file would do it for you, if there was an CRC error everything after it should have been aborted. So your mod should be quite small.
