  1. As far as seeing your weapon in RL, that myth is for the most part untrue. When actually firing a weapon, you may be lucky to see just the sights when you are aiming (Ex-Marine here along with a bunch of others on these forums who are currently active, retired or otherwise deployed overseas at this time) who will tell you the same thing

I dunno who teaches you marines to fight, but in the heat of battle, you don't usually have time to aim properly.(ranger talking here) The fastest way to aim in battle is to use the forward sights only, which means you still can see a fair bit of the gun...... :o=

  2. Has anyone played the Aftermath campaign by Chris Harris? I'm stuck on a level where you have to rescue a kidnapped politician. There are LOTS of T's on that level and my guys just keep dying. It doesn't matter what kind of team setup I have....

Anyone have any good hints?... :wall:

  3. I'm guessing the real active modders aren't the sort to have a slow connection, so maybe they could make 2 different files, that way we can all enjoy the mods.... :santa:

Has anyone got any good links for OS x mods?

I've found quite a few here on the downloads page, although it takes a while to look through them all. But you don't have to go as far as download the files to find out if they are .exe or .zip. If you look at the address for the download file in your browsers address window (or whatever it's called :wall: ), then you can see what sort of file you're about to download.....

    :ninja:

  4. Aaahuh. . .sure. Whatever you say.

    No, really.

Sure, when it comes to storming a room as you were talking about earlier, then you can't afford to stop for every shot - you'll just clog up the entry-point. But you don't have as good accuracy, either - trust me.

  5. Actually, I think that most mods work just as well on the Mac as on the PC. The only problem being that most PC-modders compile their mods in selfextracting .exe files or other formats that aren't Mac-friendly.

So, please, all you PC-modders. Compile them in .zip format or something similar.......!! ?.... I realize that this would increase the up/download times, but on the other hand - think of how many more trigger-happy, blood-thirsty souls you will reach out to...

  6. PS sure thje .kil file is set up for your new weapon kit ?

What file is that? Never seen it before...

All I wanted was a silenced sniper rifle with an MP5SD as a sidearm.....

I don't care about the kit textures in the menu, just as long as the guns work - which they have done before..... :wall:

  7. In any case, as I was saying beforehand, the element of suprise is crucial, with or without firearms. I never said that I'd take down a platoon of enemy soldiers (which is very difficult, but not impossible), but as the saying goes, "a dagger in the dark is worth 10,000 swords at dawn."

I've taken out at least half a squad silently IRL (a training exercise, of course)....

  8. You can always open each actorfile and change the stats there:

    <Weapon>2</Weapon>

    <Stamina>1</Stamina>

    <Stealth>2</Stealth>

    <Leadership>1</Leadership>

Just change everything to 8. The only problem is, you have to change every actor file to guarantee that you get "superhumans" each time you start, seeing as they are picked at random. Leaving only the right amount of actor files doesn't seem to work either......

  9. thanks, both.

I can't change anything in Igor, seeing as I don't use it.... (Mac-user)

Yes I change the silenced from 0 to 1, and I change the sound of the gun to one of the suppressed weapons' sounds. But the game just gives me another sniper rifle each time I try to use the modified ones......
