glad to here you got the file ok. and again thx for looking at it. the object wasn't boolean out it was made from a clyinder. much of what you see is for my owne use i picked the hardest thing i could think of to do so i could learn as much as posable on one project. thx jeff

Sure is wonderful to see so much help. I would love to post some pics here, but I don't know how. It would be nice to have someone look at my whole file. I am very new at this. I have check to make sure nothing is set for no rendering. Now the grouping may be another story. The ploy's that are missing are transparent. Not white. I have removed all texture from the scene to make sure I don't have any mixed up files.

Checked and made all 2-sided face was off. I tried and changed the wield distance. Still have the texture loss

Thx for your response. The steps I take when applying my textures is. First I create the textures in adobe photo shop, and then I save the file in (rsb) format. I am not sure what setting to use so I leave it on the default setting for 16 bit. I save the file in the mod folder I created with IGOR. After that I go back 3dmax and open the marital editor. Once I get my texture placed into the slot I want I pick the object and apply the texture. Once applied I pick the unwrap UVW modifier and adjust the location of my texture. Then export it and check it in IGOR and the game: NOTE, all settings

Hi zeko All pics are rsb format and they are in the map file. What I see is a squire ploy that that is part of a round surface the face is really two-ploy triangle combined in to the squire and what is happing is that half is missing when rendered in IGOR and shows up in the game.

Hi all I have been working a lot on this problem, but I can't seem to get it right. I am doing a mop that has a house with some very detailed objects in it. The main trouble I am having is after loading things in IGOR some of the ploys are missing. I am a real newbie when it comes to texturing . Most of what I know is self-thought. I don't like to bother you guys with petty things. I love this 3D stuff. I spend about 10 to 12 hours a day with it but I am baffled with this. Thx Jeff

Hay thank you EL_OSO. I have restarted making the door I have got the helper points set on each one and grouped. I started to do the animation. Once I finish that how should I name the panel groups and do I need to group them all as one object ?

thx for the info. i know how to creat a door. this is a special door .it needs more then a helper point to rotate.it moves up and back along a track. i have the pdf from the disk. what i need is real help understanding and setting up of dynamic objects. thx for the quote

Hi all. I am working on a door for a garage that has 4 sections to it. I have animated it and now I need help getting it to work. I want to use it like a single door. (Walk up to it and open it or close it). Have tried to do it as a dyn groped with a door tag. When I export it I get a message that there is no origin helper point. I used a grid helper for each section. The whole thing should move up and back like a real garage door. I really need help with one. Thx Jeff

hi all well i have another good one for someone. i am doing a molde of my home that is kinda of differant. iam making bifold doors and a grage door that works. sofar i have been able to get the bifold doors to work ok by grouping and sub grouping the doors and pivot points. the grage door is another mater. need to use more then 20 frames to get the doors to travel right. it is made up in four parts and must travel around 16 to 20 ft. thx jeff

hi all got another problem. i am still working on mikes tut for nubes. i can get one room to export and run no trouble, but when i try to add a second room igor crashes. it doesn't mater which room i use first. eather one works well alone. need to realy get over this hump. thx jeff

hi all got a question about portal object. i think i understand how to use them i was woundering if what i have is right. i see that when i look from one room i can see through to the other in 3dsm and when i look from the other room i cant see through it. does this mean that the portal is set right according to Mike Schell's 3D Studio Max Map Making Tutorial - Part 2. i am going to try to attch the file i have done. if you don,t take a look at it and tell me what you think. thx jeff

hay its newbe again. i got it to work, but i have a new problem. i can't get the command map view to display my map.i see the map from the m01_caves.env oyer the top of my map. it will not let me put anything on it like a incertion zone. thx for the help so far. please keep it comming jeff

ok here is what i have done. 1. created a patch grid 400m x 400m . 2. added my texture 3. made my scenecenter and hid it 4. then i grouped it and labled it "1" 5. opened up the map editor put a check in floorpolligon and taged it as baked clay 6. then exporter it to my mod folder that igor created in the map folder with the folder name of mp01t " recived the following after file exported . 0 faces, 0 vertices, 0 attributes-> 0 faces, 0 vertices, 0 attributes (change = 0 faces, 0 vertices, 0 attributes) " scene exp
