Thanks for the replies. I have since posting this completely uninstalled and reinstalled GR, IT and DS. These are the only mods I have tried just to get things going. Still the same problem. I am not sure if there may be some info left in the registry on uninstall that may be creating an ongoing problem. I think an option for me is to completely reinstall Winodws XP from scratch - not something that I want to do if there is a way around it. Thanks for your interest in my problem.
