  1. The scene in the Indiana Jones movie (Raiders Of The Lost Ark) that Ravenmouth is referring too was originally (in the script) to be a long fightscene between Harrison Ford and the guy wielding the sword. However Harrison Ford and the rest of the crew, except for Steven Spielberg, were having extreme stomach trouble at the time, so Harrison in order to prevent further stomach trouble just shot him. It's gathered fame as one of the best scenes of improvisation of all time.

Here's some more info from IMDB

'The scene in Cairo in which Indy just shoots a sword-wielding man was intended to be a long, choreographed fight scene featuring Indy's whip versus the Arab man's saber. 'Harrison Ford' , suffering from dysentery after three months of filming in Tunisia, couldn't face the three additional days of filming and suggested that this much shorter version should be tried instead. Some sources attribute the idea to Steven Spielberg rather than to Ford.'

  2. I remember hearing that Mossad used to have a list of targets, which would be discussed with the Israeli Prime Minister and the head of MOSSAD. This list would sometimes include some of the top-level Nazis when there used to be some hiding in Israel. Anyway, when the Prime Minister and his select group decided which targets were to be eliminated, then they would pass the job onto assasination teams which would carry out the hits.

I'm not sure if this is true though, but hell, do we ever REALLY know what's going on.

  3. I'm extremely sorry Marcinko for any misunderstanding about my post, but I was simply offering a helpful hint after reading your previous reply. I am sorry, if you misunderstood this and I apolgise most sincerely for any trouble I have caused.

Furthermore in response to my comparison with SWAT teams and special forces units is that SWAT teams, since the increase of crimes involving drugs and firearms in the United States, the operational tempo of tactical teams in the U.S and U.K has increased, and as such a SWAT unit can be involved in more live operations than a special forces unit in CQC and Hostage Rescue operations, which is better for operational experience Due to this, the training of units has increased and the equipment given to these units is better.

Indeed since the early 1990's the Special Air Service has frequently had personnel on exchange with SO19. It is also known in certain circles that the SAS and the MOSSAD has also trained with LAPD SWAT teams over several years, and has also used SWAT personnel as instructors. One such individual is Mike Grasso, who is a Technical Advisor for the Rainbow Six series and several movies.

  4. I don't know if any of you remember when Hidden & Dangerous was release way back in gaming history. Although having a reputation as the game with the biggest list of bugs, the atmosphere and tension that the game had has never been beaten.

After browsing Fileplanet I found that due to the near release of the sequel to H&D, that the deluxe version of H&D is now being released for free on Fileplanet, and I URGE everyone to download and play this game which comes complete with all updates and expansions.

  5. A SWAT team, Marcinko, is basically a special forces unit, that has to operate under restricted guidelines in tactical operations. Some SWAT units from LAPD and Miami are trained in all types of warfare including sea-borne operations and because they train in CQC and Hostage Rescue 24/7, unlike the SAS who rotate personnel, the unit integrity of a SWAT unit is far greater than a normal special forces unit.

  6. On a off-hand note, I remember reading a story in a magazine one day, can't remember what it was, about how these two guys wanted to convert their car into the world's finest portable stereo rig. So they bought the most powerful amps, the biggest speakers and subwoofers that they could buy and shoved it in this medium-sized car.

Now as driving down the road one day with the speakers pumpin and the bass crashing, one of the guys decided to open one of the windows that they had all closed.

    BIG MISTAKE

The pressure that had been built up in the car due to the sound system caused all the air inside the car to escape including all the air in their lungs and round the body. This in a few seconds called DEATH by Asphyxia, which is loss of oxygen to the body system.

    So please watch out.

  7. R.I.PFor the past two and a half years ever since I bought my Geforce 4 Ti4600 years (£275 back then), I've tried every driver under the sun from the very 2x.xx to 4x.xx and none of them have worked the way I expected them to and with the performance that I could see.

However five days ago at Guru3D.com, I read a thread about some new drivers that were customised by a guy named StarStorm. After trying the old Omega Drivers with no such luck I decided to try these.

    JESUS CHRIST!!!!!!!!!.

After installing these drivers the level of image quality turned absoulutely amazing, and the frame rate nearly tripled what I had before. During the first level of the [Ghost Recon] missions, at the start I would be running at about 30-35 fps; now the average framerate is now averaging 100-110 fps with 2x AA and 0X AF, and in every game since the graphics have been clearer and the framerate smoother than any driver I've used since.

If the 5x.xx NVIDA drivers do come out and they improve the performance enough, I will change. But for now I'm sticking with Starstorm 45.23 Drivers, and I suggest you do too: even if you have a Geforce 3 or 4 Ti4200 - 4600.

P.S If you do decide to try, I suggest that you completly remove your previous drivers beforehand. You can do this by using this tool Detonator R.I.P R.I.P

  8. This is a good choice in my opinion. The G36 is a very, very good rifle and is also a lot better than the M16 or M4 and this is a good step for the British Army, if it does come to fruition in my own personal opinion.

The main advantage over the M16 and possibly the M4A1 or A2 if it comes out, is the fact that the G36 very rarely, (if ever) has a jam, although this fact may come to be regarded as BS by any fans of the M16 - M4 family, Heckler and Koch has stated that there is one G36 that has fired 25,000 rounds without any type of cleaning and no failures. I would like to see a M16 do that!.

The adoption of the G36 is in my view one of the best recent developments in the British Army and one that if completed will give our troops a decent (finally!) weapon for use in combat.

  9. I remember chucking a 2 litre bottle of Pepsi in the freezer which I forgot about for a couple of hours. Most of it was frozen at the bottom but it was a bit slushy at the top, so I tried to open it outside the back lawn. However after just one turn of the cap the pressure that had been built up shot the cap at least 15 feet up into the air.
