'Spose there isn't much call anymore, what with an actual BHD game out for purchase..
So if they haven't received much of a warm welcome then they can't of been that good (I assume)?
-
He also worked on BHD.
Blast, I was going to say that.
Anyhoo, being a poor old Englander, I haven't heard squat about this movie yet, but have heard the title being thrown around.
Quick synopsis please?

Clancy doesn't do suspense. He does boredom. And I will agree, he's very good at it.

Polite enough not to say "n00b"

Eh...About that same as in GR I guess. For some reason, though, I get the impression that the OFP community doesn't have the close ties that some on the GR community does, because BHD doesn't seem to be a big issue.
There's a huge Mog map though. The Mog itself must be 500 or 600 m across. There's alsoa base that's a good 7 or 8 miles away. I DL'd it because it looked like a good urban combat map, which it is.
That's surprising. OFP is the perfect game for a BHD mod (especially with the whole chopper thing...), becuase the limitations of the GR engine can only take a BHD mission so far.

I thought those first ones were photographs with which to compare the models.HOLY F......... oppss sorry got carried away! Thats some awesome modelling...looks almost photographic...

I find Tom Clancy books to be waaaaay too descriptive, especially of the weapons and firefights, which is rather a big sign that he's never shot at anyone in his life.
Example;
He raised the barrel of 9mm MP5 sub-machinegun and lined up the glowing green tritium sight with the man's head, set the selector switch to three-round burst and squeezed the trigger...
When compared with the writings of a real veteran like Andy McNab, whose accounts run something like this;
I shot him.

Just finished Robert Ludlum's The Bourne Identity
2/3 of the way through Marl Bowden's Black Hawk Down (again)
While reading
The Secret Hunters by Sir Ranulph Fiennes; Apparently a half-fictionalized account of the story the Author himself found in a journal in a remote Antarctic outpost, written by the book's narrator. About hunting escaped Nazi war-criminals. Thrilling.

If you start shooting or throw a frag and then hide somewhere, they generally come out to investigate.

Current track:
Sultans of Swing by Dire Straits.
Groovy.

Fast-roping, eh...
Any BHD scenarios in there?

A duck's quack does not echo, and no-one knows why.
You're all off to squeeze some ducks now, aren't you.
-
Well good, because I'd download it just for the models.

Got me thinking about cakes.
Mmm...

Sorry, sorry; Is this a TC or just new skins, models and weapons?

Appears to be from Scotland.
Yes, I'm very perceptive.

Kills 'em all and lets God sort 'em out.

Yeah, I figured as much. Oh well, I'll just cut out the shape of a rear sight on some black paper and stick it on the screen.
No, not really.

This is the busiest forum I've ever seen. I come from www.mohaa.com and there are rarely more than five or six people (registered members) onlne at the same time (when I'm online, anyway), albeit because of time differences or jobs etc.

Oooh, I'll be getting that....
On a semi-related subject;
Does anyone know of any mods that let you use Iron sights to target, like in Operation Flashpoint or Black Hawk Down?
-
Oh yeah, right. I was clutching at straws.

What about the SR25sd?

Yeah, it's alot more cinematic than GR, like when you're playing Sp on Gr, the Ais are basically only there so you can use their guns. No interaction, no help, nothing.
