  1. Everon, Malden, Kolgujev and Nogova are also based on real islands. 'Everon' is off the West coast of Africa, 'Malden' is near Italy and 'Nogova' is located off the Northern coast of Russia, I think.
  2. Sounds good to me, I particularly like the shift toward grittier, hand-to-hand violence as opposed to grandiose shootouts in sumbmarine bases and laser fights in space. While it will probably be tough for the die hard Bond fans to get used to, I think it is good for the franchise to get away from the old formula. Die Another Day was just ridiculous.
  3. I believe there is an 'execute' button which you use when you have one team member's orders selected (i.e you have selected their name), and the 'execute all' button that obviously tells all team members to execute. From this I gather that you can have everybody on 'hold' while you plan out your movement, cover and attack waypoints, and then either tell your whole team to execute simultaneously or one member at a time as you desire. You could simply do this while moving toward the junction with your HUD menus. You could position them manually on the fly, however if the AI is as good
  4. Someone explaining it would be the same as you reading it on the actual article.
  5. Bo's answer from GRAW grenades: No mention (or question) of whether or not you will be similarly affected by things other than nearby explosions, though.
  6. Oh I dunno, I think the Holocaust is pretty high up there.
  7. It's obviously not going in at this stage so I'm just pining here, but it would be cool to have a 'jogging' sort of speed, a 'tactical jog' if you will, which allowed you to move more quickly, and to shoot somewhat accurately but without pinpoint precision. I think the best way to do this would be to implement a mousewheel control feature to regulate your speed - i.e. the more you scroll, the faster you move - Ã la Splinter Cell. In addition to that you still have the slow walk and sprint speeds, the latter still being used solely for getting somewhere fast. Again, it is obviously far t
  8. And you won't be as long as publishers keep sending you free games, you swine!
  9. And the weapon doesn't weigh 8 pounds. If you really can do that in GRAW, that's cool. The guy isn't moving quickly or anything, so there should be no cause for complaint, either.
  10. If he sits out one mission he will be at full health by the next mission.
  11. Yes, and also boring to play. Gameplay sacrifices etc.
  12. That would be really cool, I always wanted something like that. It would be particularly badass if it was something like D-Day where you could link up with a bunch of people you had never met after being scattered all over the place from a drop
  13. Bad language is one of the things that I didn't like about Vietcong. I am all for profanity in war games, because it is just realistic. But there is a right and wrong way to go about it. In Vietcong, it was fine when you are in a firefight and your team is saying things like "EAT LEAD YOU ######ING GOOK!", but during the sequences when your character is talking to HQ or to his squad, it is just over the top and gratuitous. It just felt like the developers and writers were saying "Look at us, we can use filthy language and nobody can do anything about it. Here is some more bad language for
  14. You know, I was just going to say that too, but the more I look at it, I'm not sure if it is the tree moving or some actual heat distortion caused by the blast. Although afterward you do see the leaves swaying slightly.
  15. About the sound while in the TacMap: Perhaps one reason for that is simply so you can hear yourself think. Granted, it would be more realistic to hear everything as you would while playing, but again, it's a gameplay issue. You can still hear what is going on, just not at full volume so you aren't being bombarded with loud weapon sounds while trying to make critical tactical decisions in the middle of a firefight. Some may prefer the latter to add to the urgency or intensity of the situation, but personally I think it is fine.
  16. Hahahaha. 'Gay'. Going by that and the 'campy' comment, did your friend actually play GR?
  17. Badass. Hopefully that will make CQB and entering buildings a helluva lot more stable. A 'feeling of solidity' is exactly what Flashpoint/VBS lacked when in an urban area and inside buildings.
  18. These game magazines are going to have to start drawing up some 'Game of the Decade' awards.
  19. Well, it's still in development obviously. They will probably get to that stuff later, as well as adding in the anti-aliasing or whatever kooky processes they are using these days to smooth out the edges. I'm still fixated on the hand placement. Finger resting outside trigger, baby!
  20. It is like BIS woke up one day and thought "Dudes, there is a severe lack of badass-looking real-world tactical shooters on the market!" Damn, look at that water.
  21. I was thinking about getting this both when it came out and when I saw it for 9.99 a couple of months ago, but I wasn't sure. A review I read said that it was just like MOH but in Vietnam; very linear gameplay, i.e. corridors of jungle rather than open spaces, etc; also that the AI were idiots and did silly things like running in circles and getting in your way. I opted for Vietcong instead, but found that it fell rather short of my expectations. Perhaps I will check out MoV and see how it measures up.
