The Graphics are impressive... cant wait to play it in 05 on PC

IM not sure whether i am going to buy and Xbox , cos i want to get GR 2 and Halo 2 . hmmmm

-
Lone wolf looks So cool i thought. Gives you all a look at New technologies that will be used soon. Shame they didnt include the Nanotech suits to blend in with the environnment ( predator style ) lol.
I'll end up playing both modes.. Definitly.

no1 read that article?

http://biz.yahoo.com/prnews/040930/nyfnsw01_1.html
Most of you probably read that. Voice recognition and talking and commanding your A.I about in the game is definitly part of the future in gaming. Will it be implemented into the PC version? I think it would be a lot easier. And it would be fun.
Eventually we'll be able to have conversations with the A.I inside the game

Just need a Few more GB's of ram and bit more processor speed like 10ghz lol . FOr it to do it well and more accurate.
"Fonix is making speech recognition programs for electronic games that allow players to control game functions with spoken commands -- as in the top- selling Tom Clancy games Rainbow Six 3 and Ghost Recon 2.
"
Does no1 know anything more about this?
-
imagine this crawling through the grass with 3D goggles on
this gonna be awesome
I imagin it will be simular to using ed 3d glasses on the game " Joint Operatoins " loosk really cool

The OTS view is growing on me from, the latest VIDEOS i have seen, I think i might prefer it for Single player missions tho. hmmm
-
i think the cover is fine, i mean if you have bullets, grenades, bombs coming near you, id like to see how calm you are...
-
graphite is easier to change to diamond as they're both made of just carbon
wow has this thread gone off topic
yeah :S lol
-
Well instead of stone into gold ( which i think i have a more clear understanding why that may not be possible, I dunno :S lol )
You could Turn coal into diamonds by re-arranging atoms
But i think most of you get the point, If and When nano assemblers are created you could litrually see things made out of nothing, they use the raw materials, re-arrange atoms n stuf to build. Like a house just litrually building itself or a rocket engine building itself.
"first products made from nanomachines will be stronger fibers. Eventually, we will be able to replicate anything, including diamonds, water and food".
Sounds like science fiction?...
we'll see
We are still at early stages, but around 2020 the technology will have matured a lot. -
.:Nightmare:.,Sep 18 2004, 21:44 ] And what if terrorists manage to get hold of this technology?
Hmmm....invisible terrorists.....Now we make their job of infiltrating buildings to place a bomb in a strategic location alot easier....
Well most technologies are dangerous but while we build these complex systems we should have built safeguards in place to take care of them effectivly, i hope.
Cos i dont fear Nuclear weapons in the future, its Biotech and nano that are the most dangerous and the tools are more easily to get hold of
21st century warfare.. >>Informtion<< is probably the biggest threat. if some1 has the knowledge to engineer viruses... well we got some problems if defenses are not put up. But im hoping they will be.
But companies like Intel are researching and developing a microchip to diagnose disease and viruses in real-time, would require a small chip implanted i think, very small tho.
LMAO, imagin if there would be a time when we gotta get a Nortan anti virus update wirelessly from the net aha

A rock is made up of atoms, we are made of atoms and fruit is made up of atoms, By simply re-arranging them we could turn stone into Gold, fruit into water etc...
no offend, but it will never be possible to turn stone into gold (unless its uran and u sell it....
)gold is an element, build out of elektrons neutrons and protons, rock is not a element its build out of different elements....
beside that speakin of nano technology atoms (or molekules) are arranged in a specific way, like the parts in a car....
the big difference between the macro world (thats where most of us live) and the nano world is the size, and some natural laws which are different...
np rico.
its better to be corrected rather than me thinking i know something that is wrong, ive got like 5 + books on nanotechnology and its a lot to take in lol =/
-
yeah at first i see these sort of technologies in the hands of small teams, special ops etc...
but the amazing thing about nanotechnology is, It lets you manipulate atoms. Meaning You can re-arrange them.
For example.
A rock is made up of atoms, we are made of atoms and fruit is made up of atoms, By simply re-arranging them we could turn stone into Gold, fruit into water etc...
So If you extract the atoms from the enviornment And in theory a Nano assembler would arrange the atoms and out comes the item, litrually out of nothing. Thats the reason why it would be extremely cheap.
Now at the moment we have nanotubes, but we cannot affort to use them in such big projects because of the cost.
This is where Self replication comes in and growing nanotubes n stuff.
-
isnt DARPA researching some cool technologies such as using Nanotechnologies to make bullet proof clothing. the techniques using carbon nanotubes can create a bullet proof vests and it would as thin as paper and flexible as a t-shirt and would stiffen on impact and be 30-100x stronger than normal vests and VERY light compared to current armor. Also they will be placing many sensors and diagnostics into the uniform to monitor soldiers health and apply drugs automaticly when needed and monitor the enviornment too.
They are also working on to make a soldier invisable and blend into the enviornment, Predator style...
i think its a 5 year project, started in 2002 or 2003
Right now Nearly every army and country is hugely interested in the potential of nanotech and is doing research and putting A LOT of money into it

Now I've been a staunch (is that how you spell it?) anti supporter of GR2. But in this instance I will change.

Personally, I think this is to show off the game a bit more, you know, the in the graphical sense of the word I mean.
It's like when you see these demo's where some guy from UBI & co is taking on the enemy in their latest game. He never get's shot, no matter how many people are firing at him. Surely they tweak the engine so that the AI miss fires all the while, otherwise, if the player can't get past the first bad guy, there would be no demo to see.
Is this reasnorable thinking, or am I talking utter rubbish?

common sense. which some people here lack

-
Dont get into the health system. I think AA done it perfectly, ghost recon 2 should be simular.
I just hope you cant kill some person in GR 2 with a few shots to the foot

-
Probably because they're low resolution (Xbox)
The two particularly grainy images are from a print magazine, and have been scanned by the website.
Loot, did you know that the "low resolution (Xbox)" is capable of 1920x1080i. Yep, low resolution.

what?

3: the DEPTH of the weapon when tucked and sighted cannot be properly protrayed in a game on a monitor.
ED 3D glasses sort that out, SERIOUSLY !

-
I dont see the yellow blob on GR 1 as a trademark of GR, i hate the yellow blob. I bet if FPWV was put in GR 2, no matter what you say about unrealistic or realistic, it will be prefered and chosen by the majority.
when you run around in GR you are constantly in ready mode, ready to fire no matter what stance or where u are looking etc., you always have only 1 view up.
i just prefer to see the weapon i am carrying, is that to much for you to understand
-
Granted I didnt play JO, but man, that game just reeks of shoddiness. A real hokey, half-assed game in terms of graphics and animation.
They couldnt have very advanced graphics because of the number of people in 1 server. it would kill your PC, 1 time we had 250 people in 1 server. Ping was green but frame rate was about 3 !

Also I bought joint Operations and i play with a team of about 6 and we Fight on servers in co-ordination with another team in Team speak. It feels more tactical than GR ever did, ALthough GR was a different style of game.
-
that iron sight is really cool dannik. Done much better that many games ive seen
THAT WOULD BE AWESOME WITH MY ED 3D GLASSES !

-
well having a FPWV is realistic,
How often have you actually shot a gun? I've posted numerous times about this in the past but it looks like I have to again.....
I shot semi pro in combat matches for many years. Never in running to cover to shoot did I ever see my rifle like in RvS or FarCry. The only time you see the rifle is when you have it shouldered to fire. And then if you're doing it correctly you only see the sights.
When snap shooting (buttstock shouldered, muzzle down so as not to obstruct your view) you still don't see any of that B.S. that so many people are accustomed to in movies and vid games. Please quit stating that it's realistic. It's so far from it that those of us who use real guns at work, for sport or for leisure cringe when a statement like that is made.
I'm an NRA certified Pistol, Personal Protection, Rifle and Shotgun qualified instructor. I was a CCW (Concealed Carry Weapon) instructor for the state of Arizona for many years. I had an FFL (Federal Firearms License) and sold guns for a living for a while too.
really?
that yellow reticule and reloading ret is SO realistic tho hu and when i hold a Pistol up ready to fire at a target all i see is a yellow ret ??

-
How Frickin' close can you get to the enemy until you're hit? cmon. the stuff shown in the video better as hell be on recruit.
again... and again Do you guys really need an explanation ?
ok here it is.
THE VIDEO IS FROM A CONSOLE!. even the original GR was crappy on the Xbox and PS2 ! . PC will be different, geez. you all worry too much.
-
WoW they actually look like trees... its looking nice i think, thats Xbox too, i hope the PC version can show us a bit more
ok so the patchy grass is back in GR2 and not the system we see in Joint Ops, but this might/should work better than the flat surface we seen in GR1.
EDIT:
oh actually... the grass here looks awesome and very realistic compared to other games...
http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/tomclanc...ns.html?page=18
since thats in the PC section... its definitly PC - GR2 ? (cos gamespot sometimes put them in the wrong section)
-
I would prefer to see my weapon, i know we all been through this before but the ghosts are moving in " ready position " so the weapon should be in view. mabey not while running but you know what i mean..
It doesnt feel complete without seeing what gun im holding lol.
UBI/Redstorm has everything to gain and nothing to lose to allow FPWV as an optional thing.
If you have played Joint Operations its clear that they are not firing the weapon from the waste, its in a ready to fire position and then u bring up the scope when u wanna use it for more accuracy when firing.
If you say NO to FPWV being an optional thing, then you are just being selfish
since its not going to hurt or affect any1 els is it?
Gamespot Preview
in GR2 PC - [Cancelled]

They definitly keeping quiet about the PC version, If they were to start advertising it everywhere... they could lose a lot of potential customers, also they know that PC GR gamers might go for the Xbox and then the PC version when they find out more about it.
So lets get GR 2 X box out of the way and im sure within 2-3 weeks of release we will see PC version more often in the news on Websites, i hope lol.
Up untill now ive been playing Joint Operations, to be honest i am getting so SICK of it. to the point i cant play it more than 5 minutes. People dont use tactics, majority run and gun, They get headshots from firing at the hip. Its terrible lol.
I keep thinking back about playing GR and it was sooo much more tactical, Joint ops is just a big MESS in any server.
Although i will carry on with the Beta test for that game cos, mabey it iwll get better when its released lol.
BUT HURRY UP GR2 PC !
