  1. Well I guess thats a good estimate of how long it will take for nano tv's to push out other technologies out of the market, but that doesn't mean we wont see them available in 2006. You could be correct tho, change doesn't happen over a very short period but we could see products by the end of 2006.

    Heres some info

    http://beta.news.com.com/Texas+company+dem..._3-5853193.html?

I'll probably hold out for 1 more year to see what happens, I don't want to spend a huge amount of money for something when these new tv's could potentially be very close.

  2. You don't think its realistic in the time frame???

The military is already well into developement of these type of Augmented Virtual Reality systems that identify enemies and friendlies, soldiers will have better battlefield awareness than ever before.

What puzzles me is that you guys got into Ghost Recon knowing that it was about a conflict in the FUTURE and was clearly about tactical soldiers using the best technology available at the time frame and you wont to bring the level on sophistication in terms of equipment down to 20th century.

Now I don't believe that the Diamond ident would be a good thing in multi player but its perfectly FINE for single player.

  3. Here's the golden rule of pre-orders.

If you are slavering at the mouth over a games release, do NOT pre-order. Haul ass down to the shops/stores on release day and buy it over the counter. It might cost a few pounds/dollars more than an online pre-order, but at least you won't but knocking yourself into a state because you are waiting for a delivery while everyone on the forums is posting how fantastic it is.

Well a lot of times I have ordered from play.com and had my game a day before it hit the shops shelves :) My last pre order was BF2 and had that 1 day early.

  4. How many people do you know that used GR1 PC copies?  Personally, I knew of loads of people with copies of the game.

Now how many people do you think would have had a GR2 PC copy?  Again, I would say the number would be vast.

UBI's PC gamers make up 15% of the market.  Not very much is it?  What percentage could it have been if less people had a copied version of the game?  20%?  25%?  Well more than enough for UBI to take us more seriously, and then maybe GR2 would have been released on the PC after all.

So do you think it is possible that UBI have not released GR2 PC because we are a group of moaning, breaking the law, keyboard loving freaks who they have no care for any more?

I'd be interested in knowing how many people in the console market copy and use games compared to the PC market.  I bet it would be much smaller.

Food for thought whatever you think.

I really believe that we are seeing the effects that years of piracy has done. Most games are now being made for consoles first. However much developers like the PC community, they have to go where the money is and its certainly not in PC.

I also think that if PC gamers as a whole started to support the PC gaming sector, we could recover quite well. But it will take a lot of PC gamers to change their ways. Although Console piracy could be bigger? the effects of it are not seen as much because of the number of people that have these cnosoles

Its very obvious that there were thousands of GR players that didn't have real copies of the game. GR was a huge game and the community was the best I have participated in, but that doesn't matter if the game never made enough money for further development of the Series.

  5. Havn't really seen any news about myself yet, but is there any decisions made at all on the engine that this game will use?

personally it would be cool if they used something like U3 engine. But know many of you dont seem to like unreal for some reason?

Heres a shot of how games can look with u3 engine

Please link to larger pictures except in the Picture Thread and the Wikid Photos thread. Thanks.

  6. Read the new article on the game and the developer states that, the screens were not meant to be shown. They said that, these will represent the minimal graphical quality. They expect to improve by a lot, apparently.

  7. If you look at the pics and the further away the texture the more blurry it gets. Like when you have it on trilinear filtering.

IGN and the game website says that these are actual in-game screenshots for their game coming out on platforms:

    PC, XBOX2, PS3

We will know at E3 and we should see some movies from it.

This is a guess, but if its not all real - I know what they might be doing here.

Mabe they are showing off their models in a pre-rendered environment?

That is my guess, but Im somewhat confident thats its all rendered in real time . . .

    vinny has a problem…

He has just been released from Rickers prison after serving a three year stretch. Unfortunately, his dreams of the quiet life on the outside and seeing his girl didn't quite work out as planned…. His younger brother Tony has went and got himself into some serious trouble….

"2 Days To Vegas" is a story driven 3rd person action-adventure game. The thrill-a-minute story is crammed full of car chases, shootouts and unexpected twists, to keep you on the edge of your seat throughout the game. The action is set in several major cities across the USA and takes place during an intense 48 hour period. This game has it all, a gripping story of contemporary gangster life combined with thrilling car chase action and an intense race against the clock.

  9. I'll also add that you must expect this now because there is just too much piracy going on in the PC market. It needs to stop or we are going to lose the best developers.

Profits on PC are just not increasing. I think PC users better start showing their money to support the PC gaming market instead of copying games.

  10. Come on, Did anyone here actually expect ghost recon 2 to come out on PC after they released that document a few weeks ago.

I certainly havnt been relying on GR 2. Looks like Battle field 2 might be some good fun!
