  1. Whatever you think about some of EA's games, you've got to admit that it was a masterful business move on their part to snatch up 20% of a major competitor without them having the slightest clue. This move reminds me of that movie Wall Street with Michael Douglas and Charlie Sheen. Emerald Bowl Results Navy - 34 New Mexico - 19 GO NAVY!
  2. If it "was never really about country," then you'd be a fool to enlist.
  3. The main problem with trying to create the javelin would be that the rocket when launched doesnt fly in a straight trajectory like the AT4. It actually shoot upwards at an angle so that it can head downwards at angle allowing it to hit the top of the tank/apc where the armor is lighter.
  4. In the year 2038: I'm running for the Senate. In 2038 please vote for me! You'll know it's me when I campaign to make online game cheating a federal crime, j/k. I promise to be a serious candidate!
  5. Ruin, just out of curiosity is your GPA wieghed or unwieghted? Just want to know how they calculate in your neck of the woods?
  6. It is my understanding that an ROTC person once he has graduated from college does not have to attend OCS.
  7. Now, Im not thats why im so confused. But I found a way to rig the system to work w/o sabreteams. what i did was simply make a file "rifleman-78" in the origimiss folder and now it will start up. Well until i can figure out another solution this one will have to do. At least it doesnt affect multiplayer.
  8. This is the IKE log. ***** User's system configuration ***** CPU: GenuineIntel 1696 MHz Pentium 4 RAM: 512 MB O/S: Microsoft Windows 98 4.90 build 3000 Ghost Recon (RELEASE) version = 1.4.0.0(0) RSFILEDATA: FindFile could not find file rifleman-78.atr CampaignStateFile::ReadBin: couldn't find actor file: rifleman-78.atr What does the above mean? How many regular rifleman actors is origmiss supposed to have? I have only got up to rifleman-76.
  9. Alright, I think I figured out what is causing the problem but i cant figure out how to stop it. GR now REQUIRES that I have BjB Sabre Teams 1.3 running or it won't start up? Has anyone ever encountered this problem before? Does BjB know of any solution?
  10. Ok, I cant believe it but my GR has stopped working. Everytime I try to start up GR it gives me that GR.exe problem. I have unistalled and then reinstalled with the 1.4 patch, but i still have the same problem is there anything else that i can do to remedy this situation? Here's the ikecrash log file. 11. The college application process SUCKS! Even worse are the academy and NROTC applications. I think the application process for the service academies itself must scare people away. Oh and to all those freshman, good luck with college. I'll be in ur position in one more year.
  12. You, the men and women of the armed forces are the face of America and you do us all proud.
  13. Actually, during peacetime the Coast Guard is now part of the Homeland Security Department. It was under the DoT but was moved as part of the new reorginization plan for the DHS run by Tom Ridge.
  14. @Argyll: Has the Op Iraqi Freedom mod of yours been put on the backburner or are you continuing work on that project as well?
  15. Wow, just got around to viewing that Halo stuff you're working on and it is absolutely amazing. That some awesome stuff you're creating Dugite I am anticipating the release of your map with a mission.
  16. Argyll: I'd rather you concentrate on releasing those Op Iraqi Freedom skins that you've made.
  17. Server is up, but I'm still waiting for some people to join.
  18. I'm setting up a server for some Frostbite (v1.1) games. I will start out with coop games but will play teams if a good number of players arrive. IP: 67.87.4.113 WELL I GUESS SINCE NO ONE'S AROUND IM CLOSING DOWN THE SERVER.
  19. @C: I too go to a hs with a lot of athletic talent. There are 2,200 students at my school and competition is fierce for spots on all of the teams. @Ruin: The PAE for the Naval Academy is the same one as the PAE for West Point in that they both require you to do the same things.
  20. CtheHammer: OH SHIOT, you're situation is excactly like mine. I am an EXCELLENT STUDENT but only a mediocre athelete. I don't play and varsity hs sports, i do play rec league stuff (Babe Ruth, etc...) and my PAE is only average. You are making me really nervous because I sound a lot like you! And yes I am applying for the NROTC scholarship as well (plan B as you said) and my contact says I have got a really good chance to get it because of my high SAT's. I have a feeling I'm going to end up just like you with the rejection from USNA but accepted to NROTC scholarship. Not that it's bad I just have this wierd feeling me and you are like long lost twins. One last thing, does NROTC look at your PAE?
  21. CtheHammer: You had a 1470 and a 3.9 GPA (unwieghted or wiegted?) and you still didn't get in. I find that hard to believe. Were you lacking in sports or extracurricular activities? How was your PAE? Oh and do you know how hard competition might be in my area, southwest Connecticut.
  22. I just turned 17 and will be entering my senior year of high school in the fall. Service Academy applications begin during the summer, because they say the earlier the better! Hotpants: I just returned from the Summer Seminar down at the Naval Academy and they presented all of the career oppurtonities. They made no mention of limiting the number of fixed wing slots in the near future while I was there. In fact they said that 75% get their #1 choice of career areas. Also they do a competitive system so the top students get the first pick. So, as long as I stay near the top I should get carrier aviation.
  23. Alright, because I am currently going through the application process for both the US Naval Academy and Navy ROTC I can feel you in on the latest info. The Naval Academy is considered in the top 10 hardest schools in the nation to gain admission. You must have at least a 1300 on your SAT's to have even a chance, but more than likely you need a 1370 or something like that. You need a GPA at 3.5 or above to be realistically in the bidding. And you need to be in decent physical fitness. NOT perfect because they will make you better, decent will suffice. Like me for example I am an excellent student, but only a mediocre athlete. NROTC is available at 67 colleges throughout the nation. NROTC will pay most of your college tuition if you a taken up for the scholarship. It's competative and even if you get the NROTC scholarship you still need to be accepted to one of the colleges that have NROTC. After graduating from the USNA or NROTC the majority of people go into the Navy (I want Naval Aviation), only 16.67% of the graduates can be commission as 2nd LT's in the Marines. Most people get the slot they want but there's always the chance you may not. SO, if you have to be prepared to accept Navy if all of the Marine slots are taken. Oh, one last thing: EVERYONE WISH ME LUCK ON MY APPLICATIONS!
