  1. I can't even run the setup.exe file for the demo - when I click on it, absolutely nothing happens and when I open Task Manager, I see that the demo isn't responding. Anyone else have this problem?
  2. Is that an airborne HALO insertion I see? http://pcmedia.ign.com/pc/image/article/70...13064757992.jpg Please link to large images, instead of posting them inline. Thanks!
  3. Please excuse me if this question has been asked already but what were the hardware specs of the machine that was used for the video? Thank you very much!
  4. Please pay no attention to those games/dates posted at that link. None of that has been confirmed by Ubi and is more than likely a hoax.
  5. Actually there are about 26 million residents of Mexico City and its immediate environs.
  6. After playing the 360 version of GR:AW last night, I hope and pray that you pay SPECIAL attention to the Ghost team member AI. Simply put, the team AI in the 360 version is downright MISERABLE! As an example of how dumb they are, on multiple occassions I witnessed one of them firing his SAW into a hillside. He obviously regarded the hillside as a major threat! I'm sure there are many things you can "borrow" from the 360 version of the game, just don't make the Ghost AI one of them! Thank you!
  7. I can tell you that after playing the 360 version of the game, the residents of Mexico City have completely disappeared and there are none to be seen in what is the world's most populous metropolis.
  8. A post in the Bohemia Interactive forums reveals that eventhough Codemasters (the game's publisher) won't be present, Bohemia (the game's developer) will be showing off current and new titles. "We're pleased to confirm that Bohemia Interactive will be at this year's E3. Marek Spanel and myself will be in attendance at room 6941 of Kentia hall where we intend to announce our release plans for 2005 and beyond. We will also reveal further details about the games we're currently working on." http://www.flashpoint1985.com/cgi-bin/ikon...ST;f=59;t=46038
  9. From BluesNews: Computer And Video Games is reporting a delay for Brothers in Arms, Gearbox software's upcoming World War II first-person shooter. They reveal the news they picked up during a showing of the game in Paris: "It's a revelation that we've since had 100-percent confirmation on from publisher Ubisoft, the Xbox and PC iterations of the WWII FPS which were originally slated for October now due in Q1 2005." They point out that with this should make the release of these versions simultaneous with the PS2 version.
  10. Yep, it's official. Now let's see how badly GL screws this one (the most important of the entire series) up. http://www.cnn.com/2004/SHOWBIZ/Mov...s.ap/index.html
  11. Demo will be released a little while after the game itself is released on August 3rd.
  12. PC Gamer Score for Doom III: 94%
  13. This hymn was written for the soundtrack to Mel Gibson's "We Were Soldiers" and was the final hymn played at President Reagan's funeral. It's one of the most beautiful pieces of music I have ever heard and I absolutely get tears in my eyes every time I hear it. Here are the lyrics: To fallen soldiers (heroes for Reagan's funeral) let us sing Where no rockets fly nor bullets wing Our broken brothers let us bring To the Mansions of the Lord No more bleeding, no more fight No prayers pleading through the night Just divine embrace, eternal light In the Mansions of the Lord Where no mothers cry and no children weep We will stand and guard though the angels sleep While through the ages safely keep The Mansions of the Lord http://www.npr.org/dmg/dmg.php?mediaURL=/p...ns&mediaType=RM
  14. Yes...but we must now fear the amazing golf prowess of Kim Jong-Il. According to the North Korean Press Agency, the Dear Leader recently made SEVEN holes-in-one during his FIRST EVER round of golf and shot 38 under par on the course. If this is the case, we should be encouraging the Dear Leader to join the PGA tour! Look out Tiger Woods, here comes Kim Jong-Il
  15. http://www.gamespot.com/xbox/action/closec...ew_6101401.html I know this is from their Xbox site but it will be available for PC as well. Bottom line: so long GR2.
  16. My late Canadian uncle was a member of the 1st Special Service Force and served with them in Italy - he was captured by the Germans (twice) and escaped a 2nd time and hid in a German farmhouse until he ran out to meet a US tank. He gave an interview for Jospeh Spinger's book, "The Black Devil Brigade: The True Story of the First Special Service Force" (the one featured in the first post). His name was Johnny Skelton.
  17. The South Korean hostage who pleaded for his life on video has been murdered by his captors again by decapitation. I'm rapidly losing my ability to defend Islam against those who call it an evil religion.
  18. Once and for all... YES you can fire your weapon and toss grenades...think of the game as a combination of FSW (which is a wonderful game by the way) and Call of Duty. Check out this video to see both the FPS and squad control elements: http://www.3dretreat.com/default.asp#5435
  19. Close Combat: First to Fight is looking better and better and.... Battlefield 2 looks pretty good too.
  20. June 18, 2004 — DUBAI (Reuters) - The leader of al Qaeda in Saudi Arabia, Abdulaziz al-Muqrin, has been killed, Al Arabiya television reported Friday. Muqrin claimed responsibility for the beheading of a U.S. engineer Friday and the killing of other Westerners in the kingdom, which has battled Osama bin Laden's group for over a year. Arabiya gave no further details.
  21. Al-Arabiya is reporting that Paul Johnson was executed by his captors in the same method as Daniel Pearle in Pakistan and Nick Berg in Iraq. A journalist from the network was shown a videotape of the execution. I'm no fan of George W. Bush and I opposed the Iraq war because it distracted the US from destroying these ######. I'm all for obeying the Geneva Convention - but quite honestly I wouldn't mind if we took some of those in Gitmo and fed them to the sharks in the water by the base while they were still alive and sent that videotape to Al-Jazzera and Al-Arabiya. There's an old story of what the Soviets did when one of their diplomats was kidnapped in Lebanon some years back. The Soviets got hold of one of the leaders of the terrorist group, cut him into little pieces and delievered them back to the group in several bags - the hostage was released. I know it won't make any difference to these monsters but morality must now give way to vengeance.
  22. http://www.inxile-entertainment.com/index.html This is really well done. Put the cursor over the barmaid's boobs 3 times and see what happens! Also, if you accidentally put it over the guy on the table's crotch area, he lets you know that he doesn't swing that way. Very very good stuff
  23. Wizard and Glass: The Dark Tower IV by Stephen King Against All Enemies: Inside America's War on Terror by Richard Clarke Plan of Attack by Bob Woodward
  24. Hope is dead. Here is a direct quote from Red Storm in the latestes issue of OXM: "Ghost Recon 2 is a console game from the ground up". While this came from a console magazine, this hardly qualifies as establishing any hope for our beloved franchise. Nope, I'm gonna move on to the new USMC Marine Corps tactical squad-based FPS "First to Fight" - it features a North Korea scenario too and buy Ghost Recon 2 off of Ebay or the bargain bin when I can get it for about 10 bucks.
  25. I hope Woo does a better job with this than the mess that he made out of "Windtalkers" - that movie could've been great but it was by far one of the worst war films I've ever seen (up there with "The Thin Red Line")
