The quick, easy and painless (no cost!) way is to hook it up to one computer and share the printer. As long as the computer that has the printer plugged into it is on, you can print from any computer on your network.

The power supply in my current computer is 420w

Wasn't really making a comparison of the two directly. Just a round-about way of saying that for $200 a 9800 Pro is a steal.

ATI or nvidia, it really all comes down to personal choice and financial limitations in the end. I've used both brands over the years (along with other obscure companies), but I keep coming back to ATI. I just got a 128 MB 9800 Pro to replace my 128 MB FX 5200. The difference is night and day. Granted the 5200 is no performance card, but it is not a total bottom-feeder either. I could get anywhere from 17-50 FPS in GR with all the settings at max., shadows all on with the 5200. The same settings with the 9800 Pro and I'm seeing 80-120 FPS. The 9800 Pro (for me at least) has made GR a brand ne

PF is slated to be out in Q4 of this year. See this site http://www.pacific-fighters.com And sometime around Q4 2005 to Q2 2006 we will see the release of Oleg's next creation: Battle of Britan

The B-25's are going to be in the upcoming patch for FB:AEP. And the bonus is that they WILL be flyable!!! The manual was printed long before the game was out of beta testing. Both the manual and the box also say 20 new aircraft... when it is really 29. Edit: And we will be getting a desert map as well to fly those B-25's over!! The voids are out already for the B-25 as well.

Where did you learn about computers?
Chef-Scott replied to deadly_sniper22's topic in Computer Discussions
1981 with a VIC-20. and eventually got a tape drive for it!! That VIC-20 was a speed demon at 1.0227 Mhz! Learned how to "PEEK" and "POKE" and all things that were the wonderous BASIC language, and I taught myself the inner workings of programming in machine language. I also got an expansion board for the VIC-20 that gave it a GIGANTIC 32 KB of memory in with the addition of two 16 KB cards. I was a die hard Commodore user. First the VIC-20, then a C-64 with a 1541 5.25 inch floppy drive and a pen plotter. Next was a 300 baud acoustic modem...Holy Moley Batman!!! Then a 1581, Amiga 2000, Eps -
Never hurts to get in touch with the maker of the drive and see if they will replace it for free or a nominal fee. Maybe explain that the drive had been making a clicking sound since day one. Most of the big drive makers will take care of you.

IMHO, it sounds like your hard drive is the culprit here (heads impacting the platters on power-on and power-off). I would (personally) get the drive replaced. It should still be under warranty.

The V1 is kind of quirky at the moment. It is only available in the FMB. You can not get to it in the QMB. Check this thread: http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/6/ubb.x?a=tpc&s=...05923#280105923

The FX 5200 cards are AGP 8x not 4x. Look in your manual for the motherboard (or online) or pop into the BIOS on startup to see what the AGP port can be set at.

And now there is going to be another release in Fall 2004 of more of Oleg and 1C magic........... Pacific Fighters. No word yet if it will be an add-on to FB:ACE or a stand alone. WhiteKnight77, you are going to love the expansion pack! Oh, Yeah!!!

No, it is the Bell KingCobra. The Black Widow was the P-61

WOOT!!!! Got the new job!! Got the Ace expansion!! All in the same day!! :punk: What's really funny, I do not normally buy games. I only really played Quake at the LAN parties the computer lab had on a monthly basis. They also played WarCraft III: ROC. I tried it once and got totally hooked on it, and bought WarCraft III: TFT the day it was released. Then at a friends house one day he showed me Ghost Recon... The rest as they say is history, I bought, I played, I found this great forum here!! Then you people here have an IL-2 Sturmovik thread.... You all posted screen shots of this wond

Will be on store shelves 3/3/2004 (US)!!! Yeah! After work I will be going for an interview with a new Chef and after that stopping at my local software stores and the first one with it on the shelf will be the one that I buy it from!
-
Why the switch to ME? IIRC ME has major issues with just about everything Personally I would have stuck with 2000 over ME.
-
Woot!!! I actually landed some planes last night in the QMB! Too bad that I was not near my base for one of them. Another I could still see the airstrip, overshot it just a bit.

Is Papashvili with you or is he still in the cave? If he is not with you it will not end.

Yes, there are some good FREE AV programs out there. I personally prefer to not run any process that I do not need. In my earlier post: And I agree with that Chef 100% Nope, no preaching here (looks around quickly for a soapbox to stand on). Quick check shows 357 filters I have at the moment. None of them are for blocking any virus. 98% are for blocking spam and the other 2% move mail to the correct folder. I have had a domain(s) since 1992, and on a daily average I get close to 800 pieces of spam per day. Things that make you go Hmmmmm... no wild virus, no selling of AV

That's funny! I had a Chef at one point in time that called it "Uncommon Sense". He felt that common sense has gone by the wayside and that the few that do have it are uncommon.

As do I. I have not ever seen the need to use AV software. Seems counter productive to me. I've been involved in computers since 1982ish and I can count all the viri that I have gotten since then and only use three fingers. And if you consider that now the AV software companies now release free stand alone "tools", why buy AV software and bog a system down. One was on my Mac, that came on a CD from a Mac magazine company. Another I got my Mac was from a clients floppy disk. And the third was about 5 years ago on my PC (also from an infected floppy disk). I accept no attachments via e-m
