Also to find out what speed your memory is get this program: http://www.lavalys.com/products/overview.php?pid=1〈=en Run it and look under: Computer->Overclock and scroll down until you see "SPD memory modules". It will show just what the memory is in your computer. Edit: If your board is a Asus P4T Intel 850 the memory is going to cost a bunch of money. That board uses RDRAM, which must be installed in pairs. Right now I see 256 MB RDRAM sticks going for $99 (US) each.

That's a start... To get the full dxdiag there is a button that says "save all information". This will create a text file with all the dxdiag information. You can then copy and paste the full dxdiag here. Is this a Dell, Gateway, HP or other mass produced system?

Post your dxdiag so we can see just what your system is.

Download it, install it, and see. A lot of changes were not listed to help keep the whiners at bay for a while at least.

Umm, not trying to sound like a jerk or anything, but a 600 watt speaker system?? Isn't that a bit of overkill for a computer? Movie theatres don't even have 600 watt sound systems in them. Sounds like to me, that some cash could be saved there. What are you paying for them?

IIRC, the "Atlantis" series of 9800 cards is 128 bit and not 256 bit, performance will not be equal to a real 9800 Pro.

Like, no **** Dick Tracy! The largest base of joystick users that came to mind was the insane folks over at the IL-2 forum on ubi. Nobody has anything good to say about Logitech joysticks over there. When I first got IL-2, I went against everything I read there and other places, and I bought a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro. I now use a Saitek Cyborg Evo. Go ahead and buy what you want. I really don't care what you buy. Just trying to help out and steer you clear of a frustrating, short life-span product. Do as you wish. Caveat Emptor!!!

I take that means you have not had a current Logitech stick then? Yours is several years old? Things change over the years. Do some research on the extreme 3d pro before you buy. Swing by the IL-2 forums at ubi. Caveat Emptor.

Word of advice... If you buy the Logitech, buy the extended warranty BestBuy offers ($10). I will guarantee you will be returning the Logitech within 3 months. I had that same stick and it barely made 3 months. Took it back (BestBuy) and exchanged it for the Saitek Cyborg Evo. Too bad really, I liked the feel of the Logitech. But within hours I had adjusted to the feel of the Cyborg Evo. I don't play that much to warrant wearing out a joystick that fast. Well then you have seen all the joysticks on the market then. The BEST is no longer made, the Microsoft series of force-feedback sticks. You can still find them on e-bay, if you want to pay a preimum price for one. The Cougar HOTAS is total garbage!! I would expect that from Sapphire and other 3rd party companies. Not from ATI. All ATI 9800 Pro and 9800 XT cards are 256 bit memory interface.

Sounds like and overloaded circuit in your house is all. Not the monitor, not the PSU, just an overloaded circuit. The randomness could just be central air, fridge, or any number of home appliances on the same circuit.

ATI 9800 Pro or ATI 9800 XT. The 9800 Pro can be had for a little under $200 (US) and the XT is only slightly more (9800 Pro = 128 MB 9800 XT = 256 MB)

I tend to look at it as a "keyboard augmentation device" But yes, I love my n52. I have a profile for just about every program and game I use. Great for GR and IL-2.

Had an nvidia card (5200, bottom end card, but nice) worked great with GR and IL-2. But just got a ATI 9800 Pro, doubt that I'll be going back to nvidia anytime soon. Buy the 9800 Pro card, the 5700 Ultra dosen't even come close.

If you search the IL-2 UBI forums, I think it was Extreme_One that did it. A RAF campaign and a USAAF campaign. I know that files were at MudMovers when it was up.
