  1. Google, Lycos, Yahoo, and MSN all have search engines. Try WinRAR as the search criteria. I'll save you 15 seconds and do it: http://www.rarlab.com .

It's shareware so there is a trial period during which you can use the program for free. The site has all the details.

  2. Personally, I don't really care what the console version will be like. Make it as run and gun as you think you need to. Collect all their cash and put it towards GR3 or another Prince of Persia for the the PC. But as others have requested, please make the PC version "For Mature Audiences". By that, I mean a game requiring the player to actually think. Not necessarily plan everything out in advance (i.e. RavenShilled), but give me the ability to adjust tactics.

I guess I just really want GR2 to have gameplay similar to the original.

  3. In the gameplay footage I've seen from E3, several team members can be heard chatting about mission objectives. One voice was an American female. Though I couldn't tell if any of the Ghosts that appeared on screen were female, maybe one of them was. It's hard to tell with all that equipment and only a few scant glances.

  4. Here I am! With a new Ghost Recon game on the way, it wouldn't have been hard to guess that I'd return. Maybe I'll even do some modding again. I haven't tried modding any other games because none of them compelled me like Ghost Recon: Jedi Academy, Rise of Nations, Battlefield 1942, Battlefield Vietnam, Call of Duty, meh...

And thanks for the wonderful review, Giwex. You guys know that G-man did an Italian language translation of the mod right? Spectacular work, too.

  5. I believe it's all about time and money. Takes boatloads of time to download larger mods on dialup connections. In addition, some ISPs charge by the minute when using their connections. Imagine THAT bill if you were like me and spent at least 2 hours a day on the web!

  6. D.A .didnt set out to rip anyone off.  -MH Puffy

You have no idea what you are talking about.

Maybe this guy is your "friend" or something, I don't know. What I do know is this: he never issued an acceptable apology to anyone he ripped off nor did he ever show any consistant signs of remorse. He was quite hipocritical when the storm was raging over his mod. While chastising mod makers for their desire for "name fame", he slaps HIS OWN NAME on the front of GRM 4.8. He claims to be a "doing it for the players" when he takes someone else's work, a questionable claim considering the addition of his name to the original GRM.

All in all, based on my personal correspondance with this person, he didn't CARE at all whether he ripped people off or not. He just doesn't give a damn.

  7. -am i marrying you or that damn computer

Are you sure you weren't listening to my wife talk to me? Dang those sound familiar!

  8. Ok...here we go with the same discussion as over at The Platoon.

If you include files from another mod, then you better get permission first. If you make a mod that does NOT include files from another mod but relies on an existing mod in order to use it, then there is really no reason to get permission for anything.

READ THE ABOVE TWICE BEFORE REPLYING. I am not saying it's ok to put stuff in an existing mod folder, nor am I saying it's ok to steal mods. The basic principle here is the same as making a mod for Ghost Recon. The files we need for the mod to work are in the Ghost Recon installation directory. Stand-alone mods rely on those files being there. The same is true of an add-on for an existing mod. The add-on relies on files that should already be in the Ghost Recon directory.

I don't know how I can make my point any clearer. But I know someone is gonna come along and completely misinterpret my post.

  9. 3D glasses are not a mature technology. Wait a few years for them to get MUCH better than they are. As of right now, you have a 50/50 shot of liking the 3D experience. Not good odds when you are being asked to drop 100 bucks on a vid card peripheral.
