LOL
that was a good one magnumkp -
Here's a URL to convert audio files to wav format for use with Crazy Talk.
You can also use the recorder application in Win XP to record your own voice and save it to WAV.
If you are trying out Crazy Talk, i found out that there is a text mode and in this mode the "Import Wave File" is grayed out, but it will allow you to type in text and if TTS (text to speech) engine is loaded on your pc (free from microsoft) it can read the text that you types.
Anyway to get to the mode where you can import sound (wav files), click VIEW then "CHANGE to WAVE MODE"
Per the question earlier, the answer is yes, you can combine the crazytalk movies with the Ghost recon movies, thinking of doing one but having a brain freeze on what to do....

Ok here we go
1) load hte program, click on FILE, then scroll down to FITTING EDITOR
2) This opens up a window with a picture and a wire frame over it. The wire frame looks like a connect the dots picture with an outline of the shape of the face, the mouth and the eyes
3) Click FILE, IMPORT PHOTO to import your picture (facial shots are ideal)
4) Use the icons above the picture to move the dots of the wire frame so they sort of line up with the picture's mouth and eyes
5) Click FILE, then APPLY MODEL, this brings you back to the original screen when you first ran the program
6) Click FILE, IMPORT, IMPORT WAVE FILE
7) Click the PLAY icon and watch the image talk
8) Click FILE, EXPORT MEDIA FILE to create the AVI
Also here' a site with a collection of wav files from various movies

Use something like Musicmatch which can convert from mp3 or .au format to wav format.
As for moving ghost recon figures and having them talk, don't think this is possible, as far as i can tell Crazy Talk only works with static images.

Rocky posted my test at file planet check it out here. Used an image capture from the game and a wav file courtesy of the movie Army of Darkness

ghost recon image and lip sync
Ok here's my trial run with the Crazy Talk software and an image captured from Ghost Recon (using SOF mod).
Voice courtesy of "Army of Darkness"
So looks like we can do a bit more for GR movies
**By the way, good to see another ska fan magnumkp**

Found this cool app that let's you do lipsync with just a picture and a sound filehttp://www.reallusion.com/crazytalk/ct_started.asp
Have been playing with it, and i'm pretty excited about it. Should expand the options for making Ghost Recon movies.
Combined with Fraps 2, got a good set of tools to make movies
Stay tuned for my test run with the lipsync

just sent a link to Rocky to post my lipsync trial run....check it out, did not quite do an image of a ghost soldier but hope you like the alternative
-
thanks for the encouragement, i'm having fun putting these together, now if i can only do lip sinc....Actually found this app, takes a picture and you can add sound and make the picture look like its talking. Will try a capture of a soldier close up and try it out.

cool Rocky many thanks for your help!

CQB I did not mean that you got me started on single player cheats, I meant thanks for getting me started on ghost recon movie making.
I'll try the sniper approach next time for camera angles
-
by the way, any leads on a site that can host video files? These files take up a good chunk of storage

Well folks here's another attempt at movie making with Ghost REcon. Took Magnumkp's advice and got a single player cheat to get those close up of bad guys and also used CQB's suggestion of hitting F2 to get shots of the helicopter.
Anyway tried to do portray the take down of a train depot to the music of The Specials. Let me know what you think. Suggestions always welcomed.

Got my new movie up, actually more of a 'music video'
Found an old 80's song that i thouuht fit very well with the theme.
Experimented with close up of bad guys (using single player cheats). Thanks to CQB for getting me started on this.
-
CQB do you need to subscribe to file planet to upload your movies there?
-
luv the dyin and killin movie. Great captures and camera angles!
Working on my second one - more of a music video than a movie but follows an assault on a train depot..coming soon

As for my system, i used the following
Pentium 4 3.06 with HT 512 MB RDRAM
GF 4 Ti4600
USB2 40GB HDD for the video capture
Fraps2 setp to capture half resolution (playing at 1028 x 768 game resolution) at 30 fps.
Other than that used the default settings. I also tried capturing while playing live and quality is pretty good.
-
A couple of people commented on the aireal shot on ambushed, this was a completely luckly shot during playback and constantly pressing F1.
gabe
-
any advice on how to capture close up scnes of bad guys? Is there an easy way to position cameras?
-
oh yeah for got to add, captures both audio and video and they appear to be in synch
-
bought Fraps, works pretty good, captures up to a full 30 fps, first trial was capturing at half res (512 x 384), will be trying out full res capture today.
-
great idea! I got inspired by the thread here and start experimenting with making 'movies'. Tried CamTasia, Bulents, and Fraps 2. Finally let up and bought Fraps 2 for full video and audio capture. Worked better than i expected. Edited using WMM, now if i can only figure out how to balance file size and quality...check my attempt here:

well after following the threads here, bought myself the latest version ofFraps and did a quick trial...
