So it's up ... this is going to take a while and some manipulation in my HDD, but I'll DL this thing and somehow install it. If I get the time, I might start my YouTube walkthrough again using 1.0.0, because this is looking more and more awesome by the moment. Great job Apex.
-
It'll definitely be worth it. I'll have to let it DL overnight and find some space around my disk to put all of that, but the mod is awesome enough for anyone to do that.
-
Definitely good times aged. This is looking awesome. Maybe I'll hate when I have to download 10+GB and decompress 30+GB of mod. My hard drive is definitely going to hate it. But is going to be awesome. What continues to impress me is that the "beta" versions look like complete versions. I wonder how the full version would look. BTW Apex, remember the little bug in the Legacy addons where the HK417 didn't have the correct firing sound. That is fixed for v1.0 right?
-
Hey Apex, remember that in the Leagcy mod (I think it was the entirety of the Legacy mod sets), the HK416 and HK417 don't have any firing sound. This only happened in the Legacy mods as I understand it.

They are viable in the correct situations. You definitely don't want to use them in long range, that's why you got Rifles. You don't want to use them against armored targets, as against those, if it is not a headshot, the bullets will simply bounce off their armor, they'll get stunned a bit as well. I use them in CQB against any target, but the key is, going for the hit stun (By shooting them anywhere) then going for the headshot, otherwise they are not good. They get more useful in the Desert Siege and Island Thunder, where not everyone is wearing armor. Just like every weapon, it is a matter of using them in the right scenario.

Managed to record mission 9, Zebra Straw. Here it is.
-
Additionally, does anyone what kind of formulas Apex could have used to make the weapon accuracy, recoil and handling capabilities?
-
Well, apparently I discovered the limit of what I can record. I can't seem to be able to record Mission 9 (Zebra Straw). The recorder either refuses to record, or the game outright crashes when I try to record. Guess I'll take sometime without recording to fix things up. I'd say that is a good thing. That mission was pretty tough mission in vanilla, so I don't know how harder it would have been in HU.
-
Thanks for that. I'll need to remind myself from bringing a GL or a shotgun to disable those vehicles (I used a shotgun to disable a truck so I guess it should work on other trucks too)
-
According to the read me, you can extract "at any time", maybe you could try extracting after killing everything? Although this would probably not work. Also, just shooting at the vehicle's tires doesn't deactivate them at times. One time I had to shoot all of the tires and the engine of a truck to make it stop functioning. If that also fails, just do what Wombat50 says and type autowin.

New one I can't believe how long this mission took me to complete, the russians REALLY wanted to win this time.

First Time ever I see the AI trying a flanking tactic, and they succeded. Also, first time a SAM launcher defends itself
-
And on this one I was sacred as hell due to all the civilians running around

Got 2 new missions up: In this one, I changed this up and got shot
-
Hi people. I decided to update my Heroes Unleashed walkthrough. Here's the latest mission: I somehow got a flawless victory here, don't know how.
-
OK, after testing the little patch you did up there, I can confirm it does work. I could quick load in Mission 2. Also, now that I could play that mission completely, I can say that I'm imppressed by EVERYTHING. I took like 30 minutes just to complete it, and that's a lot for my standards, I usually do missions in 10 mins at most. The friendly AI is really accurate, and the enemies are smarter. There is a certain highground point where I usually go to end the mission, since I can snipe 2 tangos that appear on the extraction zone. This time the enemies were in that highground trying to take pot shots at us. They failed because they couldn't see us. I eager to see how the other missions are.

Let's see what possibly be done: I think the game has whizzes, I could be wrong though. It would take editing of every sound file to have those effects, or editing the game engine, which is not possible The ACU they have is US Army standard as of 2008, which is when the game takes place. But a lot of people doesn't like it, and its understandable. I would prefer some other camo as well Not possible due to the way GR handles equipment, which is via Kits instead of individual equipment pieces. That can't be changed as it requieres modifying the game engine. I hope Apex fixes this one. Not possible due to the way the game is coded. (I think you are starting to see a trend here) I'm not sure if editing the actual effects in game is possible, but if not it requieres game engine editing. Due to the way smoke grenades work (You place them and they spawn smoke) is not possible. And they don't affect the AI either. Well, this is Ghost Recon. The game that requieres damn near perfect execution to complete the mission with few casualties. I think it can be improved though. Engine coding stops this. Really, what stops the game from being "The Best" is the fact that Ubi didn't release an SDK or source code of the game. Which would have allowed modders to change the way the game work, and make it even more awesome.

You could Ironman that mission, no quick loading. Apex would probably say the same.
-
Could be the huge amount of scripts (like one on the first mission that: SPOILER ALERT: SPOILER ALERT END.) or something else. I don't know. I'm using a custom addon that uses the base missions from the base game, so I haven't had a crash in a while since I started using it. The bad thing is ... well ... the scripts that you always be on your toes by making the AI be unpredictable are not there, but AI is still a challenge

Its missing RSFILEDATA: FindFile could not find file c:\program files (x86)\steam\steamapps\common\ghost recon\mods\origmiss\save\game\gr via hu 1.csf_bin that file .... not sure what that is
-
I'm guessing is Mission 2: Iron Dragon. That one crashed if you tried to quick load.
-
Heroes Unleashed has its own folder where it keeps its saves. It is \Heroes Unleashed\save. For vanilla it is \Ghost Recon\Data\Save
-
Right, put the opposing_force_120.atr on the \Heroes Unleashed\actor\special\opposing_force and the opposing_force_1000.kit in the \Heroes Unleashed\equip\_kit_npc\opposing_force. opposing_force_120.atr opposing_force_1000.kit
-
Apex noted that those crashes could be due to the HUGE amount of scripts in the maps. That was some time ago. I can confirm it is that because I've been using a custom made addon that makes the mod have the vanilla missions and it works properly. As an aside, the files you mention are not on my build either. I'm pretty sure that they don't do anything, but I'll make some quick file here in a moment to see if that gets fixed. It is worth a try.

Hmm ... Let's see ... SR-25C: I think you mean K, but any way. That one has an Aimpoint sight, not an ACOG. Aimpoints are not magnifying optics. SCARs: Same thing, these ones have Aimpoints on them. MP5A5 SU231: This one has a Hologrpahic sight, which IIRC if not magnifying Mk.18: Has an Aimpoint. M4 M68: Has a M68 sight, AKA Aimpoint.
